I am looking for a proper translation of the following phrase:

Diese Schraube mit Messingkopf ist vor Ingangsetzen der Uhu zu entfernen.

"Ingangsetzen" could also be "Ingang-setzen"

Babelfish gives me this: This screw with brass head is to be removed before Ingangsetzen the eagle owl.

These are from instructions on the back of an antique wall clock. The translation makes no sense since there is no eagle or owl.

Can someone help me?

My guess: It's a typo and means "vor Ingangsetzen der Uhr"

Uhr = clock
"Ingangsetzen" or "in Gang setzen" = to start / to get sth. going

"This screw with brass head is to be removed before starting the clock."

:hello:
