    The First Pacific Constitutional Convention

I'm just going to claim I know what the joke was so that I look "in the know" and cool and stuff. Yea.

    Proposed Delegate Requirement

It's a reasonable enough suggestion, and it doesn't exclude NPA members anymore than they are naturally excluded to begin with.

    Wee-Tiddler

The current system seems relatively forgiving to me. I don't see any real issue needing to be addressed.

    Proposed abolition of the Endocap

No, just the registered voters. In this analogy, the RA are the registered voters. That the percentage of potential voters who are actually registered is disappointingly low is not something anyone would really argue with, but it is not a reason to throw away all security measures and allow for...

So what's going on with the Azure Alliance?

Personally off the top of my head I'd probably go with either having it appointed by the delegate or, if elected, a 6 month term.

Would create lots of whining. I'm in favor.

    Proposed Election Code

Make the bar the Vice-Delegate and it would make more sense.

    Proposed Election Code

That may be so, but my objection to it is still valid.

    Proposed Election Code

My biggest concern from an initial reading is this part: At a minimum, this prevents those candidates to endorsements for 17 days (7 day nomination, 3 day gap, 7 day voting), and if the commissioners take any longer to officially announce the results, then they just have to sit on their hands...

    Proposed Amendment to the Constitution

Given our region's history with government officials, the chances of that seem a lot higher than the region randomly decided to tack on influence level requirements to positions.

    Proposed Amendment to the Constitution

I'm pretty sure I get the point, I just think it's a rather moot point. I don't see any reason to create to put something like this in the Constitution, especially if the only thing it could affect it is explicitly not affecting. It could conceivably prevent something in the future, but the...

    Proposed Amendment to the Constitution

This seems like an entirely pointless proposal to address a complete non-issue. That said, since it doesn't actually do anything now, I suppose it's difficult to find grounds to oppose it (unless you count "not doing anything").

    Flemingovia for delegate

Most of my questions revolve around the NPA as well, or related topics. How assertive do you feel the region should be in Foreign and Military Affairs? What kind of requests for assistance would you respond to? Would you be willing to use the NPA in an aggressive capacity against our...

Motion to overrule the Speaker's ruling

If they wanted their vote to count then they wouldn't have abstained. That's sort of the point of abstaining.

    Amendment to the Legal Code

Better, but (and I think this is what Grosse has been bringing up a few times now), I'm not sure there is a clearly defined "election period", so that language would have its own pitfalls as well.
  20. H

    Request for ruling

Agreed, abstentions shouldn't affect the vote.
  21. H

    Amendment to the Legal Code

Not as currently written it doesn't. It gets rid of any such requirements for offices other than Del/ViceDel (simple enough), but it also changes the requirement for Del/ViceDel from 30 days before nominations begin to total.
  22. H

    Amendment to the Legal Code

Fair enough. You still need to define explicitly 30 days of or from what, though. I guess total, though then that supposes that we can have precise, accurate records of all past and present RA members.

    The Alliance

The Azure Alliance is a formalized bond between The North Pacific, The Pacific, The South Pacific, and Taijitu that, at its most basic, pledges each member to the mutual defense of each other member. This grants each alliance a certain degree of greater security and safety when dealing with...

    On current RA practice...

As the leader of this assembly it's your responsibility to maintain some semblance of objectivity, which generally includes not lobbying people to change their votes after they've already been cast. Your democratic rights don't have anything to do with it, your responsbilities as Speaker do.
  26. H

    On current RA practice...

I agree with these two points (though not sure the second has really been a problem at all). But I suppose it should be counted in the official percentages if it's counted at all.

    Request for ruling

http://z13.invisionfree.invalid/TNP/index.php?showtopic=5092 Not really sure if there's an exact procedure to follow. I've left it open at least for now in the event some sort of clarification is needed. If I missed something feel free to point it out. Not really a very complicated question...
