    Amending Citizenship

My additional concern with Elu's alternative proposal is that it could be used by former rouge dictators who have been banned to regain a foothold in TNP. The multiple use of "former" would create a create a loophole so wide one could drive a Mack Truck though it. Which is why that idea is no...

    Piscivore's Security Council Application

And none of them were so well known as to have a universal reputation of trustiworthiness in the minds of all of the Council members. It is not sufficient to say "Our recent applicants are all people I've felt confident in." That may be true of you personally but that is not enough to have the...

    Piscivore's Security Council Application

There has been and continues to be, a misperception that activity and reliability is the same as the level of trustworthiness. They are not. A generally well known reputation and wide ranging level of experience in TNP over a very extended period of time, that can be amply demonstrated by an...

    Piscivore's Security Council Application

I do have a problem with this nomination because he is unknown to me and other members of the Council, and I find it difficult to conclude that Piscivore possesses the sufficient broad and exceptional level of trustworthiness that membership on the Council should demand. I was not able to...

    Lord Ravenclaw's Security Council Application

I had suggested within the SC a proposal to re-introduce the concept of trustworthiness into the written statutory language, instead of the argued implied standard that was used as an argument to take it out of the statute. Perhaps my last actions before retiring from the Regional Assembly is...

    Amending Citizenship

Agreed. And the alternate sounds like a move of desperation. I won't be supporting it. Either a player has a nation currently in TNP or not. Anything else is simply contrary to the spirit and the letter of the game and this region.

Proposal: New Flag and Coat of Arms

If there is inconsistent usage of "The" instead of "the" when giving the name of this region, then all of them need to be fixed. There was a UCR named "the North Pacific" (I haven't looked to see if it is still around), but it is important to correctly use "The" in the Legal Code, and wither...

Proposal: New Flag and Coat of Arms

I've used Windows since 3.1 on desktops and notebooks, as my dealings with others precluded using iOS or Lunix for data file compatibility reasons. As I said in my last post, both of my notebooks were upgraded to Windows 10 from 8.1; fortunately I was able to skip 8 altogether. I have also...

    Amending Citizenship

And thus, the sheer absurdity of the proposal is amply demonstrated. I will be voting against this bill, with its implied twinges of political favoritism.

Proposal: New Flag and Coat of Arms

From what I understand when I use imaging software the color dropper should be able to assure that all areas of blue are the exact same shade of blue. I've not only looked at the proposal on two separate HP notebooks (one bought in 2013, the other last month, both now on Windows 10, and using...

Proposal: New Flag and Coat of Arms

One minor suggestion to the legislative language: Change "revised" to "updated." It's a minor thing, but I think "updated" is a more accurate verb to describe the result of the process of modernization.

Proposal: New Flag and Coat of Arms

SillyString, yes I can barely see the differences in the shades of blue, but it is barely discernible. (And no, I didn't use the color codes to see the distinction between the two shades.) "Royal" blue tends to have that tinge of violet in it, medium blue does not. (And if anyone is wondering...

Proposal: New Flag and Coat of Arms

This I can live with. It refreshes the flag and the cost of arms, honors our traditional blue and yes, I am pleased with it.

Proposal: New Flag and Coat of Arms

If we're going to make a change, then a star on a dark blue field, reflecting Polaris in the night sky, would be a vast improvementover having a star on a red field. JMO. As to the color of the ocean, I grew up in Miami, and had plenty of opportunity to see the various hues of blue in the seas...

Proposal: New Flag and Coat of Arms

get rid of the red, period, and use different shades of blue, as seas usually are in real life and I'll be much kinder about changes. As to the star, it needs a context to show that it is Polaris, the North Star, perhaps with the tail end of the big dipper as much smaller stars.

    Discussion: SC Procedure Rewrite

I'd like a chance to comment before anything gets moved to a vote. RL has been a bear the past week or so.

Proposal: New Flag and Coat of Arms

Still too much red. A star on dark blue would be better.

Proposal: New Flag and Coat of Arms

That much red is too much red, and I dislike the color as a prominent color in a region whose tradition and heritage is blue. I agree with Flem. I was here when the coast of arms and flag were adopted, and it was a carefully thought out process. I won't be support these changes in the currently...

    Amending Citizenship

The whole purpose of this community is in connection with and in respect of the region of The North Pacific, and the players who have nations in game in The North Pacific. The Bill of Rights was written for and to protect them and not those whose in-game behavior made them DOS, period. I will...

    Discussion: SC Procedure Rewrite

SS: I will respond to your comments within a day or so. I'm trying to get caught up all over the place (in RL and here) and making progress now that my new notebook is fully set up and my older one will be going out to HP for repairs before the weekend. McM hasn't responded to my responses to...

    Amending Citizenship

This desire to reward players who clearly broke the fundamental rules of NS, and as a consequence, betray the very principles upon which the Government of The North Pacific was founded, and this community was established for, is deeply offensive to me. I cannot support these sort of changes...

    Request for explanation

First of all, isn't the policy in the R.A. based on the need for an L. O. A. of 30 days or more? That is not the same thing as 3 or 4 or 5 days, as the activity requirement for government off is 14 days. This is seriously much to do about nothing; if it gets to be 14 days, then there will be...

    Discussion: SC Procedure Rewrite

The "highest listed available" person means just that. "Available" being the operative word. I want to avoid any implication of political favoritism in who steps in; we got enough of that with the R.A. setting the order of succession in the first place. It shouldn't be too hard to easily figure...
