Okay, I wanted to give it a bit to see what people thought. I'll put up a separate thread on article 2 later tonight. Edit: maybe not. I'm heading off for the weekend.

    FD - Jury Reform

Here's something I just thought of: How could a player's being aware of their position on the list affect their actions in the region? For instance, would we have to put some sort of constraint on the preselecteds bringing forward a case, given they know they'll have a fair shot of being on the...

Hey Mikitivity, nice to see you around. I think voting just ended, but I want to say the EigenNation of Unterwasserseestaat supports this resolution.

Okay, crapamolee this is confusing. This is certainly not a final draft, but I feel it begins to address Schnauzer's concerns about what is at the front of the document, and also separates Article I into two interrelated concepts. The idea here is that all rights and restrictions are in one...

Last election-period there were a fair number of people who expressed an interest in reworking the Constitution. Several people went farther to suggest a Convention to draft a new document. I don't really believe we ought to have a convention because (1)I usually end up being busy the week we...

    Jury Reform

I think this is a fair idea, but first let me repost my thoughts in the other thread, which I still like: The difference between the methods is that in one jurors are given advance warning (which I don't think they'll alter their lives for) and one is essentially the current system, but instead...

    Hello

Welcome back, Zemnaya. Since your nation CTE'd, I'm guessing that the telegram I sent to you was eaten. Here is a copy that I also posted here after I sent it to you. If you have any additional questions, I'm all ears.

    Grumble grumble

I was more concerned/annoyed about the admission that GC was a Lexicon agent than anything that would go on in CN. C'est la vie, I suppose.

Long story short, I found this on CyberNations. Here's the salient information for those who don't have accounts: Link to nation. I'm not terribly surprised, but what does anyone else think about the possibility the little shit is just messing with us?

Schnauzer, I'm more than willing to consider your suggestion, right now it's my busy week but I'll see how I could make such a thing work. However, here is my caveat: I understand that you were one of the primary authors of the document and passage I'm considering here. Unfortunately, I had...

Any change to the Constitution, whether it makes a meaningful change or no, would have to be approved by the manner already described in the Constitution. I mention that this is not intended to make meaningful change as a call to others to help make sure we don't make them, and to prevent...

Yes, I think it would be appropriate to go through the entire document. Most of the changes that I would make would be to put the election information in one place and do likewise for what it means for approval of the RA.

Juries, what are they good for?

I think that it would be more useful to have a somewhat more theoretical discussion on what are the pros and cons of having a strong legislature (which doubles as the voting public in TNP). The judiciary in TNP seems to be on a weaker footing, simply because the demands of running a trial often...

This is primarily in response to Schnauzer's comment here. First, let me reiterate that the purpose of this amendment is not to alter the meaning of the Constitution or any procedure described therein. Also, this is one of a planned series to go through the entire Constitution, a longer task...

Juries, what are they good for?

I agree with Schnauzer that an impeachment is a political action, but that's why I think it ought to be dealt with by a referendum of the RA. Then if removed from office the player would be subject to a criminal trial under normal guidelines (whatever they may be).

Juries, what are they good for?

I can't see anywhere in the Constitution itself where it states how juries need to be chosen. I've never been called for jury duty myself IRL but I believe they summon more people than the actual size of the jury. Could another solution to this be to send summons to, say, 15 random RA members...

Legalese is certainly important in order to give precise meanings, but saying things multiple times in legalese still isn't necessary. (If everyone is simply talking about legalese when making fun of the constitution, I'll stand corrected and will no longer see the point in this affair.) This...

    Constitutional Editing

For a bit, I've been going over the Constitution and trying to figure out how to go over it loosely with an editor's touch to make it more user-friendly. From the time I've spent reviewing it, I firmly believe that it is a fundamentally sound document, though wordy or even redundant in spots...

Well, by a whopping vote of 4/2 (2/1 via TG and 2/1 here), I have voted FOR this proposal. TNP vs. Fulhead Discussion

I was wondering if the defense attorney would care to explain this comment: It is my understanding that any judge, in order to have the authority to preside over cases, needs to be recognized by the government. This statement questions the impartiality of any judicial system by treating a...
