[SC - Defeated] Repeal: “Liberate Magna Aurea”

This seems to lack native support, which is rather a requirement for the repeal of defensive liberations, so I am against this proposal.

[GA, passed] - Repeal: “Food And Drug Standards”

I concur with the repeal that it is unsatisfying to offset all legislative work to a committee. The problem with this is that it disincentivises meaningful effort to address policy, in favour of the convenient but dull response of letting Gnomes handle all relevant matters. Furthermore, the...

[SC - Failed] Repeal: "On The Supremacy Of The Potato"

The proposal lacks a full stop after its final clause; it also overlooks the significance of potatoes as a supraregional point of unity. For those and other reasons, I am against this proposal.

[SC - Withdrawn] Repeal: “Declaration On Hippopotamuses”

This proposal does not make a compelling case for a repeal, so I am against it.

    [SC - Withdrawn] On Piracy

This looks as though a GA proposal became lost and wandered to the SC, acquiring some of the SC’s phraseology and structure in the process. I am voting against it, slightly baffled at its submission.

[GA, defeated] - Murderers get nothing

That definition of murder is rather questionable, but I don’t think it has any impact on the proposal’s substantive merits, so I will vote for this.

[GA, Failed] - Repeal: “Sophisticated Investors Protocol”

I find myself in full agreement with AS on this matter. The letter of this law does not achieve its intent. Therefore, voting for a repeal is justified.

[GA, withdrawn] - Ban on Juvenile Life Sentences

Despite being personally opposed to this, I can see that it is well-written and that it is in line with the goals of the World Assembly. Therefore, I will vote for this.

[GA, defeated] - Grilled Cheese Act

This genuinely amused me, and it reaffirmed my pedantry on the classifications of foodstuffs. However, the last clause does not grammatically cohere with the rest of the proposal. Therefore, I must vote against it.

[GA, passed] - Recognising Academic Qualifications And Skills (2nd)

I don’t think that I have much to say here. This proposal achieves a clearly-international aim in a thorough and comprehensive manner. Educational standardisation is exactly what the General Assembly should be doing, so I am voting for this proposal.

    [SC, passed] Commend Kalosia

I’m not particularly familiar with Kalosia, but the proposal makes a good case for a commendation, so I will vote for the proposal.

[SC, defeated] - Liberate Hellish Dominion Of Abysmal Torment

This proposal is superfluous, which is why I am against it.

[GA, withdrawn] - Airspace Sovereignty Doctrine (2nd)

On the fact that international airspace isn’t reserved, that’s because there is no member-nation with the ability to regulate international airspace, so there’s no need for the right to do so to be reserved. The GA has that authority by default, and the only way that it could cease to do so...

[GA, withdrawn] - Airspace Sovereignty Doctrine (2nd)

Naturally, I am voting for this proposal. All of the issues that I identified in the last submission have been fixed, leaving a very solid draft with a good mixture of firm mandates and discretion to the IASA.

[GA, passed] - Repeal "Standardised Passport Act"

I am for this proposal, for reasons outlined in the repeal itself and in Simone’s explanatory post.

    [SC - passed] Liberate UEPU

I am, of course, voting for this proposal.

    [SC - passed] Injunct UEPU

I am, of course, voting for this proposal.

[GA, passed] - Prevention Of Hate Crime (2nd)

This is a well-written proposal. It criminalises hate-crime in an effective, comprehensive, and unambiguous manner. The first clause defines a hate-crime in a very complete fashion, insofar as there is nothing that is unjustifiably excluded, and the second clause contains three mandates, to aid...

[GA, passed] - Repeal: "Pesticide Regulations"

This is a well-reasoned repeal, particularly where it criticises the overly broad scope of the target. I therefore vote in favour of the repeal.

[GA - passed] Repeal: “Consular Rights”

This is uncontroversially repealing an obsolete resolution. As such, I am voting for the proposal.

[GA - Failed] - Against Racial Discrimination (2nd)

This is far improved from the previous version and, while I did have some criticism of the previous, I wasn’t burningly opposed to that either. Therefore, I am voting in favour of this. In terms of partially replacing GA #035, it has done well, replacing the “compelling, practical purpose” with...

    Oaths of Office

I, Kenmoria, do hereby solemnly swear that during my term as Executive Deputy Minister of World Assembly Affairs, I will uphold the ideals of Democracy, Freedom, and Justice of The Region of The North Pacific. I will use the powers and rights granted to me through The North Pacific Constitution...

[GA, not in queue] Airspace Sovereignty Doctrine

I am reluctantly against this, and it is reluctant because I didn’t raise concerns during drafting due to the inexorable pull of real life. I have several concerns with it, the most notable being that the airspace of non-members above the sea is declared as international airspace with no regard...

[GA, passed] - WA Misrepresentation Protocols

I don’t think that this is particularly controversial, so I am for this proposal.

[GA, passed] - Civilian Prisoner Transfers

I am for this proposal. I don’t have much to add to Simone’s comments.
  26. Kenmoria

[SC, passed] On The Strangers' Bar And Three Walled Bar

On the basis of the Strangers’ Bar, I am for this proposal.
  27. Kenmoria

[GA, withdrawn] - Prevention Of Hate Crime

I have noticed a flaw in this proposal. In fairness to Magecastle, I didn’t point this out earlier. The first section splits the basic act into two categories: violence and non-criminal acts. The result of this was that a non-criminal violent act, such as one conducted during boxing for example...

[GA, Passed] Procedural Rights Of Defendants

I am uncertain as to whether the concern raised by Comfed justifies voting against this proposal. As a result of my uncertainty, I will vote as present.

    [SC, passed] Commend Quebecshire

From what I have seen in my occasional forays into the SC, and from what the draft says, Quebecshire is worthy of a commendation. Therefore, I am for this proposal.
