Support Islandwalk for Secretariat. If you want The North Pacific to have an even more significant voice in the World Assembly, you should upvote the dispatch and vote for Islandwalk when the time comes.
Mr. Chief Justice and Associate Justices -
I would like to submit a judicial review request regarding the issue of admissibility of classified/secret/unknown intelligence coming from the NPIA, NPA, or other person(s) in matters brought before the Security Council.
To provide some historical...
It might be beneficial if a treason discussion were held separately if only to discuss the issue in-depth: 1) Whether treason should have a statute of limitations; 2) What the definition is.
I wouldn't go so far as to say the treason matter is off-topic, but adding a treason measure in might...
Dei --
How about this?
How about we say that if a given percentage (say, 60%) vote ABSTAIN in a race, then that gives the PM the right to appoint not a person to fill that position, but merely a person or persons as candidates to run in a runoff. (A runoff with the original candidate and...
I wouldn't have a problem with this new language, since it specifically says any treason definition will be left to the Court... meaning we wouldn't have to add a treason definition de novo anywhere.
EDITED AFTER VOTE: PROPOSAL PASSED
Proposal regarding RV/RA merger (removal of non-RA RV status), submitted by Hersfold was voted on from 12:00 noon PDT Feb 27 to 11:59 AM PDT Mar 6
Proposal had previously passed the Cabinet.
As far as technical points of the proposal goes, I think this would be a good exception.
I'm not saying I wouldn't support this proposal if it went to vote today, but if I have to be the lone voice representing what could happen with this proposal, even if it is the worst-case scenario, I have...
I'm not so sure about that..
Dislikes can be irrational, and politically-spawned dislikes are especially so.
60% may indeed be a safe barrier, but I am articulating these points for consideration. Democracy can be a popularity contest, but it should not be. For example, if I disagreed with...
The original proposal has been edited to reflect the imminent passage of the RA/RV merger bill.
All references to RV's have been removed.
Since there was a majority of Cabinet Ministers that approved the initial version, I will leave this for a few more days in case anyone wants to register a...
I have no idea. It seems people have found that this idea is a good starting point, so I will probably close the other one.
My primary philosophical problem with this is that I prefer people nominate candidates rather than reactively vote to abstain against a candidate who is running unopposed...
I think what Grosse is getting at is that we can't decide anything about treasonous offenses until it is engrained somewhere (ie, the Constitution) exactly what constitutes treason.
Either that or saying in the Constitution that the Court has power to determine whether an act rises to the level...
If the UN passes an abortion bill for or against, and certain nations feel strongly about this, they can choose to leave the UN -- that is one means of recourse.
Secondly, let us assume there is a majority amongst UN nations that want abortion. The argument has been floated that this bill will...
Hers, brings up a good point about language changes. Since the merger bill seems certain to pass, I will post a modified version to reflect this tomorrow so all Cabinet members can see it.
I think None of the Above might be dangerous for the reasons already mentioned.
Also, say there are only one or two people who use NOTA. In practice, those people could simply abstain or not register a vote.
If there is, for example, 15% or 25% who truly wish for a NOTA, that group should be...
Those who feel that abortion is being thrust upon them have other forms of recourse than passing a non-bill in the UN. Those who feel that abortion rights are restricted can pass legislation in their own nations.
This resolution SIMPLY states the obvious.
Of course nations have the power to regulate abortion in any way, shape or form within their own borders (as long as they follow things such as human rights norms, etc).
The clause on posing risk to the mother is also redundant. Of course doctors can...
I like HErs' idea of an inter-regional Games where we can all submit athletes under our own flag. That has the best of both worlds.
Now all we need is a host....
I agree with this.
As for the multi-region idea, a practical question would be how to split the spots on the TNP team for all the individual nations here who would want to send athletes. I also wonder if other feeder regions would have as much "regional pride"/
Thank you Flem and Hers..
But uhh.. Am I a Cabinet member?
I realize I have the permission tag, but I thought that was because it was too much trouble to give the RA Speaker his/her own tag.
I don't think I should be present at Cabinet Meetings and the like, but I will post here if I...
I fail to see how the fact that addiction can strike anyone is an argument against an anti-supply stance.
If economics is the base on which this issue can be resolved, the simple economics of drugs is the same as that of any other good: supply and demand. The only reason farmers farm these...
I think the "czar" idea is alrigh,t but we would need to have someone who's hosted the Games before and doesn't mind giving advice to other host nations if called upon.
Since we've only had one so far, that might be a problem at this stage.
I agree with Hers -- I'd rather see more RP'ing on...
Sorry for posting in here again.. It'll be one of the last times, I swear :P
I just want to tell the Cabinet that I've read this (which is important if we are to have good communication) and to say the following:
Delegate Security Act -- Roman who proposed this has said after debate he feels...
