Ah, my old enemy returns.
That's why one would suggest keeping the judicary independant of the Cabinet. Perhaps even doing away with the Ministry of Justice all together and having a group of judges and a sanctioned Attorny's office (where the 'DA' so to speak can be elected, if you so choose)...
BS, that would be like admitted that they have authority over us.
I like Byard's revision. The NPIA operation was because of Hersfold, and not under government observation. Since we had no knowledge of it, there is only so much responsibility we can take. There's a new director of the NPIA and...
And for the police:
Breaking and entering, unlawful arrest, assault + battery, criminal damage, disturbing the peace and a whole host of other charges.
I believe the technical term for this would be a cluster-f**k.
What about the IDU? How do we know that your turning TNP into a sprawling bureaucracy was not some secret plan by them?
Shall we play the "How far can we push Grosse" game some more?
Thanks for clearing that up, Flem.
I don't want to argue that the NPO operation was a good idea, because I'd hate to advocate spying on our allies, but I believe we must all take a step back and realize that most things are acceptable in the terms of furthering our interests. I perhaps...
:2c: Not sure that the NPIA operation was a /bad/ thing in theory. Working against a sister-feeder is ill-advised though, especially when we can't trust the operatives fullfilling the missions.
I initiatlly had some quibbles over some of these points, but as of this time I put my support behind this change.
No offence Gross, but your intolerances are showing ;)
Plausible if there was a seperation between the director of the NPIA and the PM. The NPIA is charged with protecting the regions interests and if they thought the proposal would weaken their ability to do that then I would imagine they would work against it.
This is speculation, of course.
"I was just following orders" doesn't cut it anywhere, I'm afraid. If the MOD told you to take over a region and destroy it, would you not be as guilty as they?
Mesian admitted guilt of his wrongdoing. If we find he did in fact vote nay then we have a pretty clear cut case.
@BW, I was NPIA a...
FWIW, I believe we should bring further charges against him and any other member of the NPIA implicated in the vote fixing 'scandal'. We need to be seen to be cleaning house now.
Personally, I find the fact that the NPIA /has/ to work around the constitution and government awful. I also think that divided the whole shebang up would allow us better communication. The secret service is always going to be shadowy, but there's no reason why details of operations can't be...
Since I need to refresh my photoshop skills, I'm offering my services as a flagmaker.
I can either make complete custom flags or rework an existing one for you.
My flag as an example.
Josh: 'Hate is not overcome by hate; by love alone is hate appeased. This is an eternal law.'
The man may have done hateful things, but you will not serve yourself by hating him in return. Maybe he'll make better use of his time in his next life.
Cabinet members can be selected from the RA, that's exactly what I meant. I wasn't attempting to be condescending, but I am really having trouble following your train of thought with this. The major difference between our current system and the one I'm proposing is that the Prime Minister...
Perhaps I should make what I said a little clearer for you, as you seem to have missed the mark by quite some way.
'The Cabinet can be chosen from anyone of the assembly who have served actively for 3 months'
The reformed cabinet (consisting of the Minister of Defence, Minister of External...
The security council was originally created to be the checks and balances for the Delegate, but their role has grown to something more. All I am talking about is ensuring the security council is strictly related to the Delegate, and not some quango with more power than the actual cabinet.
It...
I'm sorry, I don't believe you've read anything anyone has said on the matter carefully enough.
Gaspo knew that Mr Knecht was another identity of the player behind Mesian, as I'm sure a good number of people did if they cared to ask. TNP is mainly unconcerned with what a person does with their...
Most IRL agencies are seperated between the secret services (MI6, CIA etc) and internal services (MI5, ATF, FBI etc) since the two roles have very seperate purposes. The internal department would be concerned with helping the MoIIA ensure internal security and the integrity of the Regional...
The best place for what? Lots of people knew Mesian was in the NPO, but I doubt anyone suspected that it was due to the NPIA.
Gaspo threw a little mud about Mesian's shady past and Mesian all but spilled the beans in what could be seen as an attempt to protect himself (something he denies, I...
