Pocket Constitution FAQ
Who sees my form response?
Just me, COE.
Do you collect my IP address or email address through that google form?
No, I promise. The only personal information I receive when you fill out that form is your address. No names, no nations, etc.
What do you do with my...
If you compare this part of your response to Madjack's, I think you might find that not all signers of this petition are on the same page about what should be banned, and what the admins are expected to do if they were to accede to it. I can imagine that probably makes it difficult for the team...
I don't think the admin team should ban "any known fascists."
First, I don't think it should be up to the admin team to decide who is a fascist and who isn't. It is actually a pretty tough thing to define and enforce consistently. I feel like I have a pretty good handle on what fascism is, but...
I have multiple problems with this, and never took time to express them appropriately because I thought they were obvious, and made this unpassable. Apparently, I was wrong, so let's go through them:
First, changing the scope of chapter 7 to include all government officials instead of just the...
I think we ought to take this a bit further and just make it so that the multiple-branch restriction only applies to elected officials. Even if you disagree with that, the proposal conflicts with Article 6 as it stands, so some amendments to Article 6 are needed. Here's my offering:
A few...
Yeah, in cases where the first justice to reach a majority is not the one who got the highest number of first preference votes, the former had the better claim to chief justice, in my opinion. I agree that putting that into legislative language will be tricky though.
Regardless of the merits of this bill, I don't think it's a good idea to define the phrase "government officials" contrary to how it is defined in the Constitution, even if it is only for purposes of that chapter or section.
I feel strongly that this is a step in the wrong direction and potentially violates the "equal and fair treatment" provision of the Bill of Rights.
Too many nations are getting ejected. Lately, the Speaker's Office has run into the issue that the scripts underlying the citizen registry do not...
I didn't want to clutter the court thread with this, but wanted to point out that my quoted remarks in the brief filled yesterday took place before Gross Misconduct was added to the criminal code, and that the "legal grey area of oath violations" I was referring to was the lack of a crime...
I, Crushing Our Enemies, do hereby solemnly swear that during my term as Deputy Speaker, I will uphold the ideals of Democracy, Freedom, and Justice of The Region of The North Pacific. I will use the powers and rights granted to me through The North Pacific Constitution and Legal Code in a...
Thanks for your answers. A few follow-ups:
So what? Those people won't be elected Speaker.
Why distinguish between motions to censure and other types of symbolic motions that have no legal effect (e.g. this bowl of porridge)? Is there something about a censure that deserves a special shout out...
By all accounts it seems like you've been doing a great job, and I'd like to see it continue. A few questions though:
Why not just abolish the speaker's staff and make them all deputies? Has the speaker's staff always just been a way to get people to do shit without having to oath and resign...
I think the OP of this thread could probably use an update, removing references to the AG's office, and adding links to those templates on the rows of the chart relevant to each one.
