Opening Address - September 2025

Hello, folks!

The position of the Minister of World Assembly Affairs is one that I know well, and I'm pleased to be back as the head of the ministry. It has been two and a half years since my last stint, and I'm looking forward to going back to my roots in TNP. I'd also like to thank the Delegate and my friend, @Halsoni, for entrusting me with this role - I can't wait to repay his faith. All things considered, my predecessor left this ministry in a good spot, and if we can maintain our level of activity and engagement, we'll have done well. That's not to say I don't have my own ideas for the ministry, ideas I'm eager to share with all of you. We can do great things if we maximize our potential and work diligently toward them, and hence, even if we don't get everything we want done, I want us to make progress and be able to say that we tried.

First and foremost, we need to master the basics, which is something that we have managed to do as of late. I will ensure that we continue to post voting threads ahead of time, write IFVs that are informative and understandable, publish them consistently and in a timely manner, and do the necessary outreach that will ensure our voting recommendations are heard throughout the entire region. Without taking any of these steps, we cannot go on to do greater things - the Ministry would stop functioning, after all! These tasks may seem menial, and yet they are vital and, as such, must be our number one priority.

A goal of my delegacy was to educate our citizens on matters involving foreign affairs and developments outside of the region, which we did through the form of the FA Digest. I would like to bring something similar to World Assembly Affairs; it is unlikely that I will call it a digest, but it will more or less be a recap of what's going on in the World Assembly. More specifically, I envision it having information on current and future votes, and upcoming resolutions, along with how they are being drafted. Think of it this way - our IFVs cover the present, while the WA recap is the future, and sometimes the past. I haven't decided on what intervals it will be published, but I'm thinking one to two weeks. The idea is to boost the awareness of our WA residents and potential topics they should be thinking about. Bear in mind, this publication would not have an IntFed or NatSov bias; TNP has been ideologically neutral for a long time now, ever since this debate began, and our region's leadership, most certainly me, intends to keep it that way.

I created the mentorship program for this ministry two years ago, and after my departure as Minister, it lay dormant for a time before being picked up at the tail end of my Delegacy and during Ruben's Acting Delegacy for a period. While the Delegate has indicated that other areas of the Ministry should be prioritized under his guidance, I will note that if we have time resources, I will give it one last shot.

It is my belief that those who put in hard work and the (albeit virtual) blood, sweat, and tears towards the maintenance of the ministry should be rewarded for it. Under my watch, those who make exceptional contributions to the ministry, or even multiple minor ones, will be recognized for their work, because that's what the good folks of the Executive deserve. I am still finalizing the specifics of the recognition and determining who is eligible for it, but this information will be revealed in the near future.

@Cretox and @Fachu will both serve as Deputy Ministers over the course of the term. Cretox joined the Ministry once more just recently, but with him being a former MoWAA here in TNP and maintaining an excellent service record in the region, I know that he is more than capable of doing what's required. Likewise, Fachu is also a former MoWAA, having served under me for around five months. As my predecessor, he left the Ministry in a positive state and did an excellent job of keeping the machine up and running. I retained him on the leadership team of the Ministry in recognition of his good work. That said, applications to become a deputy minister are still open! I'll be appointing only one or two more, so if an abundance of individuals apply, not everyone will get the position.

I'm hopeful that we can keep doing wonderful things in the Ministry, and I know the personnel that we have at our disposal can do just that. Let's go out there and make this term great!

Signed,
