Howdy,

I’m Koopa, a General on the North Pacific Army’s High Command, and quite likely the oldest member of the HC. Seven years ago, I started NationStates and joined the NPA, an organization conceived in protecting the region, and a family dedicated to camaraderie, memes, and fun. During my time here, I have participated in everything from Boom Beach and Winterfell to the War on The Brotherhood of Malice. I have risen through every rank, from Private to General, and I have served as the Deputy and Minister of Defense for several terms. And in that time, we have seen a great many changes to the operation of the NPA. Our Law Code, which was its own sovereign thing, was relegated to the authority of the Delegate by McMasterdonia, and court cases and laws have needlessly restricted our abilities to operate and work with others. Often changes like these have been instituted by people who do not understand the NPA and its needs.

Every so often, a wave of change will sweep the NPA, typically spearheaded by an enthusiastic individual who wants to evolve the organization into something new, and they are met by the NPA’s old guard with hesitancy at best, and hostility at worst.

Many believe that it is only the words and policies of great Generals and Officers that can keep our organization going, but that is not what I have found. I’ve found it is the small things, everyday heroes and ordinary soldiers who work, save, sacrifice, and endure.
One such soldier, whom I cannot help but think of now, was one named Nimarya. She was ambitious, creative, and pushed the NPA to a height not seen at any other point in my career. But her innovations were opposed by the old guard. The voices of that opposition grew louder, colder, and crueler. One day, her patience finally wore out, and she left the region.

At the time, I was one of those voices, and in the end, tradition won, which brings us to today.

But if we look to the answer as to why for so many years we achieved so much, prospered as few other organizations within The North Pacific, it was because here in this group we unleashed the energy and individual spirit of soldiers to a greater extent than has ever been done before. Our server was alive with daily messages in spam, barracks, and our joint channel. There was something special there once, a closeness only had in shared jokes that nobody else understood.

And if there is any tradition worth hanging onto, any part of our history that might not be so easily discarded, it is these memories, these times when we were more than what we are now. We should remember the efforts of those who came before. Their efforts have carried the NPA thus far, and it is up to us, the ones still here and even those who have yet to join, to continue forward. We must resolve that the efforts of soldiers like Nimarya, Darcania, Bobberino, QuietDad, and Gladio have not been in vain. We must devote ourselves in full measure to chart a new course.
Here and now, we are engaged in a great struggle, a revolution that will test whether our Army can long endure. It is no coincidence that our present troubles parallel those of several years ago. History has repeated itself, and we are asked once more if we will rise to the challenge and overcome it, or be split again in the face of adversity. The task ahead is one that will require our best efforts. We must be willing to believe in ourselves, in each other, and in our capacity to continue marching on.

I believe that we will come out of this revolution greater than we ever have been before. And besides, why shouldn’t we believe that? After all, we are the North Pacific Army.

Change is often scary, never easy, and always inevitable. I'm excited to be a part of the NPA's revolution and revitalization, and do my best to carry the legacy of those soldiers who came before me for those who will come after me.

As a former MoD who tried to keep the NPA active back when things were starting to slow down, I met quite a few frustrating experiences in trying to revive its old energy, though it was not necessarily because of a hostile old guard moreso than a lack of active officers. I will be watching this new revolution of yours with great interest, even if I am no longer a part of the NPA.

Nimarya was one of our greatest generals ever and never opposed by the old guard. I even created the pink Discord tag for her. Yuno was around then too. You so mistake my "opposition" as it's more there are traditions we had, that we don't anymore and they meant something. The "rule" of jumping with the NPA flag only was so the RMB of a region would see 10-15 flags entering at once and it made a presence.
The transition to the Delegate running the NPA by McMasterdonia worked because he was and still is one of the greats. Before that, It was the Generals that were into game play and The the NPA always reported to the Delegate for aapproval but the Delegates have never dicated what we do. They have other things to do and the reason ops had to be cleared by the Delegate is so we didn't raid a region that was in secret negotiations with us. Hell, we degtagged Stargate for years due to a treaty with a region that became dead.
You can say what you want and do what ever you want, but I know what works and that's activity. Having people trained and ready to put up something EVERY SIINGLE UPDATE ggets people involved. Generals can lead ops put an appoint PVTS as the point to give then practice with the WFE. I've even given RO privilege's to trainees in my own region to practice off the battle field and off the radar.
As for no longer maintaining mission logs, you rob people of history and the ability to see how they stand up. I don't have a problem with it because I'm the greatest NPA soldier at least 75 to 100 missions ahead of 2nd place. Sorry, but the old gaurd HX was just into gameplay and we did it every day. Some of the delefates that ran it dice decided to just send us to libcord every day so they had mission counts. We lost most of the greats during that era who became leaders in the other raiding groups
And as for the NPA only as far as membership is conserned, Having people able to joim multiple armies makes us absolutley powerless. I made that rule when I was MoD because one of our Generals was the head of the UDL (United Defenders League) , now libcord, and while he didn't have a problem throwing out of libcord before a liberation, he was always in the room wen we planned raids and several of them where interrupted by libcord. It was training
And say what yuo want. but you dont have the leaders anymore that can put an op toegether or even trigger effective;y. There hasnt even been a post on Discord in two weeks. Thank you for showing me where the old gaurd was out of date

I can only speak to what I saw as Delegate and a government minister but the assertion that Nimarya was not opposed by the old guard is not one that matches up with my recollections. I won't say more because it was a relatively long time ago now and I'd much rather the NPA focus on the future and what it can achieve, rather than continuing this seemingly endless spiral of now public, rose-tinted spectacled proclamations of how everything was better in the past whilst offering no practical solutions that have made up the last several years of High Command debate.

Your remark is both inflammatory and dismissive. It contributes nothing to discourse on the topic at hand. If you have a valid counterpoint, make it.
I’m not interested in engaging in good faith with someone who cares more about a rank or honoured soldier status than the region or the NPA. I’ve had access to the officer channels since January and not once have I seen QD make any constructive contribution to reforming the NPA. All I’ve ever heard from him is patronisation and revisionism. That’s not what I believe this region stands for nor does it contribute to the welcoming environment my government is trying to build.

I will not sit here looking pretty while people rail against folks who work tirelessly to improve our region. I stand up for those real patriots who believe in a better TNP because that’s what they deserve instead of this garbage statement from QD which is filled with lies and entitled nonsense.
