Opening Address
May 2025
Not many in our region have had the honor of being elected twice to the region’s office, and I find myself amongst those very few. The past four months have been a dream come true for me, and watching our region realize my vision and take the first steps towards a brighter future was a joy. I only have you all to thank for the opportunity to allow me to get TNP back up on its feet and continue the progress that we’ve made. The new term is more than a continuation of my reign - it is when TNP will truly begin to flourish. We are already seeing promising signs, with this past election seeing our highest recorded turnout in history. I am grateful to each and every one of you who cast your ballot, whether it be for me or for someone else. Our democracy is truly what makes us great as a region, and every one of our citizens deserves to have their voice heard and have their say. The more we participate, the more the region thrives. I’d like to extend my congratulations to @Halsoni and @Cosmic for winning their elections as Vice Delegate and Speaker respectively, and you both have my full confidence in your abilities to serve the region well in that role. To those who were unlucky in defeat, I thank you for sharing your ideas and participating in our democracy - it is only right that I do so as your contributions made it thrive. With patience and willpower, your opportunities will arise again.
We faced many challenges over the past four months, both at home and abroad. And yet, we persevered and we moved forward as a region. We brought back our radio service, provided foreign affairs education for our residents, built new bonds with regions that just recently have emerged on the world stage, and participated in the largest liberation in NationStates history. I know that as a region we can do so much more and continue off from where we left off. We will not only pursue the objectives set for this term, but from the previous term as well. I will not only seek to uphold the promises for the next four months, but the ones I made for the prior four as well. Over the last term, we worked tirelessly to rebuild TNP and to solve our issues, but if there’s anything that our government can still strive to improve on, it’s visibility. While we have built bonds with many of our friends abroad, we can do the same here as well with our own community, and I will seek to bring our government to the people more than ever before. I am feeling hopeful for the future of our region, and if we continue to work hard and support one another we will reach new heights.
My cabinet was a large part of why the region was able to make so much progress under my stewardship, and I am proud to have worked alongside them. To make progress, we must avoid stagnation and we must make changes wherever necessary. You will find many familiar faces in my second cabinet, though not in the positions in which you may expect. These individuals have worked tirelessly to improve TNP and their respective ministries, and all have a burning passion for our region, which is what makes these folks so special. I will be putting my faith in them to execute our agenda and to continue the revival of our region. Without further ado, I present to you my cabinet:
Chief of Staff - @Halsoni
My decision to appoint Ruben as my Chief of Staff halfway through the term has been one of the best that I’ve made as Delegate thus far. Ruben’s energy and enthusiasm has been contagious throughout the executive and he has greatly increased productivity not just amongst the members of the government but among the members of staff as well. He has a deep love for TNP and he has shown that he is willing to fight tooth and nail for our region. Ruben has been a great help by holding myself and the rest of the rest of the cabinet accountable and has been willing to help wherever he’s needed in the executive, which has made him an exemplary Chief of Staff. I look forward to continuing working alongside him.
Minister of Foreign Affairs - @Comfed
Comfed is a skilled diplomat and has extensive experience in foreign affairs, having served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs on two occasions under two different Delegates. His understanding of both military gameplay and foreign policy makes him a valuable asset for the administration. He can maintain a cool head when faced with a crisis and his communication skills will go a long way towards accomplishing our goal of expanding and diversifying our diplomatic network. I am confident in his ability to navigate the diplomatic landscape and I am excited to have him by my side.
Minister of Defense - @Kaschovia
Kaschovia has stepped up to lead the NPA and is one of our most experienced soldiers in our military. He has shown a willingness to take on the challenges that come with taking on a new position for him, and I am confident that he will serve in this position with diligence as he has done in his other roles. Throughout his time in TNP, Kasch has proven that he is capable of being a quick learner and brings an energy with him wherever he goes, and the NPA will be no exception. I’m thrilled to give him the opportunity to make a name for himself in military gameplay.
Minister of World Assembly Affairs - @Fachu
Fachu has been ever-reliable in the Ministry of World Assembly Affairs and has shown that he is willing to put in the work required to keep his ministry performing at a fairly high level. He has consistently updated our voting threads, has regularly written our voter recommendations, and has published dispatches for them. I’ve been pleased with Fachu’s performance since he took over in the middle of the previous term, and I’d even go as far to say that he exceeded my expectations. As such, it simply makes sense to keep him in the role.
Minister of Culture - @St George
MadJack has provided much needed stability to the Minister of Culture position over the past month after we have had the prior three resign. He brought an energy and playfulness that the ministry so desperately needed and successfully revived our cultural events, namely Theme Thursday. Having been in this position numerous times before, MadJack brings a level of experience to the role that can rarely be found elsewhere. I am truly excited to see what he can do with a full term and I am optimistic that with him at the wheel our culture ministry will do great things.
Minister of Integration - @Pallaith
It only makes sense to place our region’s most talented and skillful player in the area in which our priorities lie, and that’s exactly what I’ve done. No one is committed to improving the region like Ghost is and his abilities and experience will be crucial to our region’s new approach to engagement with the RMB. He simply thrives and produces results everywhere he goes, no matter the spot in our government. You have noticed an unfamiliar ministerial name above. Effective immediately, The Ministry of Home Affairs will be replaced with the Ministry of Integration. The Integration ministry will still have many of the same similar functions as the old Ministry of Home Affairs, but it will have a new, clearer purpose, and as the name suggests, will focus on integrating newer into our community and government. This ministry will work closely with the Gameside Advocates to implement our RMB engagement policy and get them involved with our cultural activities. I look forward to seeing how this new ministry will do and am excited to see what it can do under Ghost’s stewardship.
I am also pleased to announce the appointment of @Marcus Antonius as the Lead Gameside Advocate. Being a border control officer in his capacity as a member of the Security Council, Marcus is an experienced moderator of the RMB, and has served on the team at an exceptional level for many years now while maintaining high levels of activity. He will be crucial in the implementation of our gameside policies and I am keen to see them executed under his watch.
Serving you all as the Delegate has been the opportunity of a lifetime, and I am grateful for the chance to do so for another four months. The region chose to continue on the path forward that I provided them, it gave my vision a chance to be implemented over the long-term, and it put its faith in me to continue the revival of TNP. We spent the last term planting the seeds of our rebuild, and if we make the right decisions and take the necessary actions, we will watch those seeds turn into flowers and bloom, and I will have left the region in a much better place for my successor than what I found it in. I’m excited to get to work and finish the job I started, and I hope that you all join me along for the ride.
Yours truly,
Chipoli
Delegate of The North Pacific
