The resolution reaffirms the sovereign right of each nation to choose its form of government, while granting the exclusive power to legislate on electoral matters to nations that hold elections (in matters not covered by current international legislation). However, being somewhat vague as to the methods for achieving this, it represents a double-edged sword. Current legislation does not cover all aspects required for the holding of free and fair elections, and that passing this resolution would block any future attempts to legislate on electoral matters, including those seeking to cover existing loopholes and/or to guarantee the transparency of electoral processes at all stages.

For these reasons, the Ministry of World Assembly Affairs recommends a vote against the resolution.

Against, amazed that short vague thing even reach quorum.
Was probably campaigned for. If NS is still anything like what it used to be, its ridiculously easy to get something to quorum.

I'm amazed that this excuse of a resolution was proposed by a GA SECRETARIAT MEMBER.

Against.

Against.

I do not like it for the simple fact that it is vague, to the point of being empty on purpose. To approve such a resolution would only block future attempts to improve existing electoral legislation (improvements that would be necessary, since the existing legislation does not cover all aspects to be considered).

Against.

Not defined what 'polling station' is. How about international observers, etc.

Voting on this resolution has ended.

Thanks to those nations who cast their votes. Your participation is a great help to the region.
