The World Assembly,

1. Declares that personal matters such as sexuality, religion and religious belief are to be held purely private personal matters entitled to all the protections set by previous international legislation,

2. Declares that purely private personal matters must not be used against an individual by any political entity, governmental or otherwise, to prevent the individual's participation in democracy,

3. Mandates that using purely private, personal matters to prevent an individual's full and fair participation in a democratic system must be criminalized.

The World Assembly has before sought out legislation that furthers civil rights. However, as the proposal stands, its short length provides vague guidelines and omits any mechanism for enforcement. As there is no way to enforce the guidelines in this proposal, and Against Political Discrimination only applies to democracies, the proposal provides insufficient protection against discrimination.

For these reasons, the Ministry of World Assembly Affairs recommends a vote against the resolution.

I like the concept but I am against the execution. It does absolutely nothing and it leaves much to be desired in loop-holes/ways around it.

After reading it more carefully, the whole proposal is very vague and leaves a lot to be desired. It seems very little thought actually went into it.

Its short length along with its lack of detail and explanation could either render it a toothless and ineffective law OR give it far too much power by allowing for loose interpretation.

As said by others it lacks detail and doesn't explain itself well making it possible to be misused and taken another way according to one's personal views....and yes as HuAt said this makes it potentially quite ineffective as a law.

Whilst the Government of the Republic of Markonia supports the intention of the Against Political Discrimination Act, we believe that the Act, in its current form, is too vague, offers no real protection and it's presence will only serve to block potentially better legislation. We therefore urge The North Pacific and its members to vote against the Act.
