OOC thread for Zusammenkommen. IC thread: http://forum.thenorthpacific.org/topic/9011450/

Please keep all OOC comments here.

Essentially, this thread was "inspired" by Uthvaq Shanar. (No harm done, eh, Syrixia? :noangel: )

Since the canonicity of some events in the past is up for debate, the Sunft, Katura, and Kyloth clans weren't listed in that OP, but they may appear later depending on what happens.

Hopefully, this event should help re-establish Darcania in the RP world of Eras since I left, while letting me practice RPing again (since I haven't written in over a year). Fair warning: I may post slowly because of this.

Naturally, if you're not interested in RPing with dragons, don't RP with me. Conflicts of that nature, if they happen, can be postponed for now.

Uthvaq Shanar was always one of my favorite RPs. Delighted to see this happen. And yes, we do need to talk about Clan Kyloth. I am more than excited for its return to the canon.

The Syrixians will most certainly attend.

Hooray!

I also liked it. It's nice to have a relaxing, non-story based RP of indefinite length to just kind of hang out in.

Feel free to apply in the thread. We can discuss Kyloth in PMs or Discord. I'm personally in a better place than when we first discussed it, so hopefully I'll be more mature about it.

Note- I'm going to refrain from posting in Zusammenkommen until Monday, as I do not have much time on weekends such as this for RL reasons.

I can be on Discord though.

That's fine; I usually work weekends, anyway.

Zusammenkommen ?

Bless you
Don't get me wrong, I'm always happy to be blessed by your Godship, but...

was there a particular point behind this post?

He's God. There doesn't have to be.

It was a joke. He was acting like he thought you sneezed.
Wow, thank you, as if that weren't obvious enough.

I'm autistic. That doesn't mean I have the IQ of a two-year-old.

And thats why we usually say Gesundtheit when attempting that joke.

Also Wolfsea is supposed to be sending a representative but Kul Katura is last of his clan and still sleeps in the mountain so I wouldn't save a seat for him.

No need to be so tetchy. I had figured your post was passive aggressive enough to indicate you had not fully grasped the joke.

Yes, well, I get rather tired of people assuming I'm retarded when I'm not, just autistic, so I may have interpreted your statement as such when that was not the intention.

For what it's worth, sorry for snapping at you.

Wolfsea:

Does this mean that the Katura clan, and thus Whiess kul Katura and the Darcania-Wolfsea alliance, are no longer canon?

I was not even aware you touched on the spectrum. Oh well, no worries. Working on my post.

Esplandia doesn't have any dragons but we do have a sword that has the soul of a dragon in it. Well it's the joint property of Tajis and Esplandia. I suppose we could send a representative with the sword since some believe that the dragons soul can communicate to the swords wielder. Is that okay?

To be honest the amount of retconning we have recently it might be easier to redo anyway, plus the political atmosphere in Wolfsea has changed since the conquest of Rhuvanland (which I'm claiming to be a part of our territory in the map claim just s I don't have to retcon anymore than is necessary) so it could be that the Katura clan only has a few surviving members who haven't attended the Zusammenkommen in over 2000 years so the other clans might believe they died out.

To be honest, I don't really like that idea, since the Katura clan were originally scholars and I liked the idea of that clan and the character of Whiess. I'm open to ideas and compromises, though, so we can discuss this in detail over Discord or PMs, if you like.

I'm sorry, no, as that's too close to magic. IC, many of my dragons believe in magic, but they can't use it; OOC, this is because I already have to fight hard enough to get my dragons to be accepted in canonical RPs (there is, after all, a good reason why I left TNP for a year). They're even incredibly underpowered should war happen, since, if they had any sort of something that would make them a proper fight, I'm worried the other nation would complain to mods that my dragons are OP (hell, when I pointed out that dragons could defend against small-arms fire for survivability, LL listed my nation was "questionable canon").

So, my apologies. Perhaps you could do a sword that is in some way historically associated with dragons, a sort of expy to Ascalon in our world or something like that? Unfortunately, no real magic (though unfounded superstitions are fine). We can feel free to discuss it via PMs or Discord, if you like.

That was actually what I was thinking. More of a mystical superstition and not everyone believes it's real.

yet again Cogoria is fine with dragons, even OP ones. I would assume small arms fire would bounce off scales, but a large enough volley or 12.7mm would do the job (Or missiles) If you ever want to RP with OP dragons in a war let me know, cause I still want that dogfight :D

Esplandia:

Well, if enough people in your nation believe that superstition, it might be a diplomatic faux pas if my dragons are presented with a sword and can't, in fact, speak with it. That's the main thing I'm worried about.

Absolutely, at some point. When I get really pissed off at nations I'm trying to be diplomatic with, we'll talk. :P

Darcania:
He was glad to comply, as despite his visit he still found Syrixian culture to be quite confusing to follow, since it seemed so fluid and ever-changing.

That can still be a thing but it would make zero sense for nobody to have noticed dragons out in the open for 2 millenia, especially when the mountain they inhabit is a major religious site, even if the Lady of the Moon covered it up from even the Khan (especially in the 20th century) so am going to have to err on the side of realism here, besides it would give the clans reason to come to Wolfsea to investigate the mountain. Just saying it makes sense that there's very few Katura left and they've hidden themselves away, especially since the way the Etrebean Empire devolved into dark age tribes fighting constantly for 800 years before Wolfsea's founding. Also bear in mind that in the last decade Wolfsea has conquered three other nations (barring Rhuvanland which was a pre-emptive strike again a racist regime, Calabos and Veist were conquered by Ein, Sebt's predecessor, who is now considered a terrorist for being a total nutjob who tried to nuke his own country) si makes sense clan Katura would avoid detection.

Where is Dracania? Like where on the map do you envision it being? Or is it there and I'm just overlooking it?

Cogoria:

I don't have a claim on the map, and don't plan on having one soon. It's a small chain of three islands somewhere in the middle of the ocean. Here's a map of it, from when it was on the old map:

The purple part is what used to be the Faibuaizu Headquarters, but it seems that died out after I left.

That makes sense, though I do give leeway from reality for the sake of this since otherwise the only options would be a tiny clan that hid away from the world or a prosperous clan that already revealed themselves to a nation long ago and now have strong ties to it, like Kyloth in Syrixia. That would also give a chance for them to become extremely religious (desperate times, plus a way to bring the clans together). We can determine the details about it in Discord or over PM if you'd like.

Well nobody in Wolfsea has seen a Dragon in over 2000 years, whatever they've been up to is their own volition.

And I do not have Discord and no intention of getting it, got too many IMs as it is.

Just saw this and got curious. I thought the Wolvesh knew about Clan Katura?

It's no longer canon, since Wolfsea doesn't feel it to be realistic for a whole clan to manage to stay hidden in modern times.

They believe in Kul Katura but they believe he was one of the only two dragons, Kul Katura and Garrowmaw and Garrowmaw is dead. Anyway why can't the clan be in decline or has been depleted? God knows thats what happened to my IRL family (only boy born with the family name this generation and unable to have kids so yup, my family is screwed...)

Clan tends to imply a few dozen dragons, if there's only twelve or so then fair enough but 40-odd dragons is a bit much

Tchaikovsky is a Hero of Cogoria for his work defusing explosives, He has never been in a war cause Cogoria hasn't been in one, the explosives were left over from the revolution, similar to the large portions in France and Belgium left after ww1 where specialist EOD units are still disarming shells and other explosives

My apologies to everyone that I've been slow to post. I've been very depressed since last Friday due to RL matters, and since it lasted through my normal posting time (Monday thru Wednesday), and since this type of longer, more serious national RPing is, while still relaxing a bit, quite stressful at times, I haven't been able to start on my post. I'll accept applications real quick, but it'll be another while before I will do full replies. My apologies.

Tchaikovsky's description reminds me quite heavily of Sfan :P
