McMasterdonia
Syrixian Nuclear Power plant, North Syrixia.
0300 hours

Lela crouched down low next to the tall electric fence. She was waiting for her comrades Peter and Alexey to return from disabling the fence's power source. She noticed one of the lights on the fence flicker and go out, and she knew their job was done. She began to cut the wire on the fencing, just enough to allow the three of them to pass through and to return the wire back to it's place.. so that it would not be noticed by patrolling guards.

Just as she was done, her comrades Alexey and Peter arrived at her side.
"Took you long enough" Alexey said with a gentle poke to her ribs
"I say.. took you long enough!" Lela fired back with a smile

The three of them crouched through the small gap in the fencing, and Peter quickly put the wire back in it's place. The power plant was a huge facility that powered many of the neighbouring cities. Nuclear power was a clean and reliable source of nuclear energy but when poorly managed it could be manipulated to cause devastating damage and could poison generations of citizens that lived nearby. The facility was relatively well managed, after two weeks of watching the security procedures the group had formulated their plan and understood the weaknesses of the facility. They knew that between 0230 hours and 0330hours the security guards on duty would check the temperature levels. Immediately after that they would patrol the fences. They had also heard security guards complain about the supervisor responsible for watching the cameras - apparently he was notorious for falling asleep at his desk. They could only hope that this would prove correct today.

Peter and Alexey had been trained at the Royal Academy in New Intelligentsia. Their Captain, Jessica Whitwell, or as she was known now the Minister for Security had high hopes for them. She was a brutal Captain and broke them, so that she could put them back together in the way the Royal family demanded. They had refused to go into service in the Royal Guard, and had fled into the Imperium Augustum. They worked as mercenaries for a number of years, across Erastide, and eventually made their way back to the Kingdom of McMasterdonia they had once called home.

They arrived at the city of Whitewater, where their parents had called home. To their great despair, they discovered that the family home had been burned down and that their entire family had died in the blaze. As they entered the city, the citizens they had once called friends would not look at them. They would walk past them with their eyes downcast towards the ground, refusing to even acknowledge them. Eventually they stumbled across their neighbour, Helena, who told them the story. When the news arrived to Whitewater that Peter and Alexey had abandoned the Royal Academy, their former classmates were ordered to the city of Whitewater. Together they burned their family home and any remaining family members. Anyone who attempted to stand in their way was killed on the spot. The Lady of Whitewater, Catelyln had attempted to intervene and even she too lost her hand for challenging the academy.

They could not comprehend what they had done. They had not expected that their family would be punished for the sins of their actions. Forced into exile, they travelled north to the border with Great Bights Mum. There they found Lela, wounded, and beaten, she had been raped by the soldiers of the imperial legion for attempting to defend the small village she hailed from. Together they formed a pact and united in hatred for the regime they sought to undermine any who supported it. They were involved in attacks on bridges to prevent the flow of supplies to Intelligentsia, and more recently they had been sponsoring acts of piracy against trading vessels in the gulf of McMasterdonia. They did not support either the flemingovianists or the Whent's, seeing them as both as treacherous and power hungry as the McMasterdonian royals, but they would continue to undermine the institutions of the state and to attack all who supported the tyrannical regime.

This had brought them to Syrixia, and to the nuclear power plant. They had been planning this for months and could only hope that everything would go as planned, and that a key supporter of the McMasterdonian regime would be undone.

Syrixia was an unequivocal supporter of McMasterdonia. McMasterdonia had become the second official ally of modern, democratic Syrixia, the alliance between the two younger only than that of Syrixia and the Democratic Republic of Tomb. Syrixia was also an economic powerhouse, and the leader of the Helmebaine Alliance and the Community of Caltanian Countries, as well as a member of the Democratic Union. Soon, Syrixia would be readmitted to the North Pacific Treaty Organization since its military had been downsized. The 500,000 discharged soldiers following Syrixia's NPTO-backed military downsizing, which was to halve Syrixia's one million man army, were now filling up a lot of job spaces, which was enough to keep Syrixia afloat. The government originally wanted to help other nations by loaning them money, but it knew it couldn't; as that would probably mess the whole system up.

They could only hope, that other nations with similarly powerful economies to the Most Serene Republic, such as Kannex and the August Empire, for example, would fare just as well. Alfred Nursson planned to visit a power plant to try and negotiate a plan for the future with Syrixia's various business magnates. Hearing that the CEOs of Inisqimaan Incorporated and Dahraqa Financiers, LLC. were meeting at this plant for a similar reason, Nursson decided to capitalize on this and join the meeting, so the government and the corporations could cooperate to help save Syrixia. What happened at that plant soon after changed Syrixia itself. While Lela, Alexey, and Peter snooped around the nuclear power plant, inside were three of Syrixia's most important men: John Agnarsson, Alan Day, and Alfred Nursson himself.

Inisqimaan Incorporated was a jack-of-all-trades company. They did everything. Their search engine, "Gano", had become a word in itself, being used in phrases such as "Go gano it" all over Syrixia. Inisqimaan was also a manufacturing tycoon, and also specialized in various other things. Dahraqa, meanwhile, was a purely finance-focused company, being Syrixia's largest insurance provider as well as a private banking company. They also had a financial advisors' division and even manufactured a bit, churning credit cards out of their factories. Dahraqa was one of the most used credit card brands in Syrixia. Recently, they'd expanded, and had begun to offer phone plans; among other things. Dahraqa had negotiated with phone company Qoneira Wireless. They would formulate a phone plan, and Qoneira would provide the network.

Nursson stepped into the conference room, a couple minutes early as usual. This power plant had been chosen for two reasons. It was remote and secure, and it belonged to Inisqimaan Incorporated. The plant, located in the extreme northeast of Syrixia, powered the three towns of Dohar, Hafej, and Luqya. If it was deactivated, all three towns would blackout. The three towns were small, so the power plant was small as well when compared to other plants, but it was still crucial. The three intruders planned to take it out, however. This would definitely do even worse things. Not only would all three towns blackout, but the plant would be utterly destroyed and the radioactive wind released by the explosion would blow straight into Funkadelia, which would be terrible for relations. Around two minutes later, both Agnarsson and Day showed up. They were both relatively concerned, and Nursson could tell.

Obviously all three of them had reason to be concerned. The CEOs of Syrixia's two biggest companies and the Head of Government of Syrixia itself were there, together. The fate of Syrixia rested in this conversation. Due to this, Agnarsson had commissioned extra security as well as more containment should any intruders try to compromise the plant and use that to take out the two magnates and the Prime Minister. Currently, however, the guards were checking the temperature to make sure it the extra containment was OK- giving Lela, Alexey, and Peter the perfect opportunity to sneak in.

Lela, Peter, and Alexey had easily overpowered the first couple of security guards they had come across. They quickly silenced them and locked them in the cleaners store room towards the back of the facility. The security at the facility was surprisingly lazy, they had assumed that Nursson would not take extraordinary measures to protect himself. He was enormously popular in Syrixia, and he was well known for his interaction with ordinary Syrixians on a regular basis. Lela put that down to arrogance, she believed Nursson was a horribly arrogant man who believed nobody would dare to harm him. The others were not as certain.

The staff worked on six hour shifts on a rotational basis, with a one hour break in between for lunch. After working 13 hours in total, the staff would be allowed to return home. No staff were permitted to leave the facility during their shifts, and as such, all meals were provided for by the on site Chef. The Chef in this facility was a former McMasterdonian National, by the name of Frederick, he had come to Syrixia in late 2013 seeking asylum after the Queen of McMasterdonia declared his liege-lady to be a state terrorist. Since then he had gained Syrixian citizenship and now worked in this facility. He had known Lela from their teenage years, and when she asked him to serve his former country he could not refuse her. Frederick was given a large quantity of hemlock, a highly poisonous plant native to many parts of the North Pacific. For lunch today he was cooking a traditional Syrixian soup, made with chicken, leek, potatoes, and as a special ingredient some hemlock leaves. He only needed to put 8 leaves in each soup to do the job.

Death would come in the form of paralysis. Each security officer would ingest the leaves, which were finely grounded to avoid detection, and they would lure into a painful death. Their mind would be active and awake, they would know that their life was leaving their body. However the paralysis would prevent them from asking for help, from alerting security, and before too long their respiratory system would fail, and they will die. To be sure that this would go to plan, Peter stayed behind, and as the guards ate their food, he removed their bodies and left them in the kitchen cool room. As the staff continued to rotate through, their were murmurs from the officers stating they had not seen this or that person in a while, they would always be assured by Peter, disguised as the shift supervisor that they were out working already. Fortunately, the staff at this centre was so large that many people would not know each other by name, and each shift would contain varying staff members and supervisors. This facility was almost too big to fail.

Disguised in outfits they had stolen from the security guards they had already slain, Alexey approached the temperature control room. Here he would eliminate the security guard and await for the final notice from Lela, who was already in route to the conference room. There the Prime Minister was meeting with two senior corporate officials, or corporate terrorists, as they should be known. During the meeting, they would be attended to by the kitchen staff who will serve them with a delicious soup for afternoon tea. Lela was there to ensure that everything went to plan, and if it didn't, to take the necessary action to achieve their ends.

3:15 PM

The three men sat down to talk. "Welcome, Mr. Day. Mr. Agnarsson." Nursson humbly remarked. "Thank you for letting me attend this conversation. The fate of our country is in our hands, and all parts of our country's structure, both public and private, must work together to save Syrixia. This conversation is instrumental to that effort." "I completely agree, Mr. Prime Minister." Agnarsson replied amiably. "Inisqimaan Incorporated is working around the clock on its products, trying to increase its revenue so we can help the poor and the downtrodden. We've started the Keep the Falcon Flying Fund, or K-Triple-F, as a way to do this. So far, we've raised tons of money." "Dahraqa," Day chimed in, "has been cooperating with the Mint, as you know, to keep the value of the Aureia stable as well as making sure stocks don't go down meteorically. However, they have been going down, albeit not by that much, but they're going down, period, which is still worrying when one things about the long term."

As the three men continued to talk about the Syrixian economy and their strategies to keep it afloat, lunch had now started. Today's lunch was a special soup cooked by the plant's chef, Frederick Johnson, or as he was known around the complex; Chef Freddy. "Did you hear about this soup?" said one of the guards to a fellow guard at his table. "Yeah, man," the other guard replied, "It's a traditional classic. Chicken, leek, potatoes, and a special mystery ingredient just for today!" After briefly talking for another minute or so, the second guard proceeded to eat the soup. The first guard didn't start yet, as he began to notice people around him who had started eating earlier begin to collapse, screaming something about poison before becoming immobile. "Hey, what's going on with them?" he said to the second guard. "Not sure," the second guard replied. "I don't think ALL of them would be allergic to the soup. Something's fi-" He stopped mid-sentence, finding himself suddenly unable to move his mouth.

The odd affliction creeped down the second guard's body, and he was now unable to move his arm. The first guard knew something was wrong, he je spat out what he could of the soup. As he hadn't injested any of it yet, he knew he was safe from whatever was causing these things to happen. He watched in horror as the second guard tried to scream, but he couldn't even do that. By now he was completely immobile, and was attempting not only to scream but also to wriggle around the floor. It was clear that he was in agony, and after a couple horrifying minutes, he stopped wriggling. The guard, whose name was Ahmed Naalan, stepped up from his chair and looked around the quiet cafeteria. Everyone except him was dead. He looked at the kitchen and saw that Chef Freddy was gone. He knew what was going on in an instant and ran to the nearest wall phone to call the police. At that very moment, while the police began to respond and start their cars, a waiter came in with three bowls of the poisoned soup and served it to the three men.

About four minutes later, Day collapsed dead on the floor. Both Nursson and Agnarsson, who were saving the soup for a bit later in the conference, stood up quickly. The conference security loaded and raised their guns, looking around to see who could have possibly done this to Day. Just then, the police pulled up, but it was too late. "The police too?" Nursson asked in a concerned voice. "What the blazes is going on here?!" Just then, the door burst open again, this time with more force than before. It was clear that whoever was coming through that door had ill intentions.

Lela, who was now joined by Peter, Alexey, and Freddy from the kitchens smashed the conference room door down. She threw a flashbang grenade into the room, it's explosion was made worse by the small size of the conference room. While the Security Guards were disoriented, Alexey, Peter, and Freddy quickly shot them with their automatic shot guns, hoping that the Nursson and his companion would survive the fighting, at least temporarily.

Lela saw Freddy fall, as he was shot in the head by one of the security detail. She allowed the rage from his death to fill her, as she charged towards his killer and fatally shot him in the stomach. Within a matter of minutes, the remaining security detail was dead, and only Lela, Alexey, and Peter were left remaining.

Both Nursson and Agnarsson were hiding underneath the conference room like the cowards that they really were.
"Get up" shouted Lela, as the pair hesitated, Lela smashed her gun into Agnarsson's back. "I said GET UP!"

Nursson was the first to rise
"You will not get away with this. The police forces are already on their way. Even if you kill me, you too will die, and you will not receive anything that you want. No ransom is paid to murderers"
Lela spat in Nursson's face and said "We do not seek a ransom from you, dog."
"Now that is very impolite. Well then, what do you want?"
"Peter, go and deal with the control room. Alexey, go with him and ensure nobody is able to stop you. I will handle these two."

Peter and Alexey nodded, and ran out of the room to head towards the control room. There they would disable the remaining temperature controls and the plant would go into meltdown, ultimately destroying, and causing wide spread damage to the nearby environment and the cities nearby. Not only that, but the destruction of the plant would also do serious damage to the political elite of the country, and to the nation economy. With hope, the fall out from this attack would also damage nearby states, and force them to address their crazy nuclear activity and ridiculously unstable economies.

"Well, Mr Prime Minister. I am here to kill you, but, I will tell you why. For too long the Syrixia you have led has been little more than a violent warmonger. You have interfered in national politics and violated the sovereignty of nations without even a second thought for the consequences of your actions. You have supported rogue dictators and violent regimes, who oppress and murder their people, and you have supported the overthrow of strong leftists governments who care about their people - simply because they do not share your insane support of capitalism"
"I don't -"
"Don't interrupt me. You are nothing more than a tyrant. Like all tyrants, even you have come undone. This cult of personality you have developed around yourself ends today."

During this discussion Agnarsson and simply been standing there not saying anything, Lela now turned to face him.

"You are nothing better than a capitalist pig, who would rape and murder as many people as you could as long as it guaranteed your profits. But, someone must live this day and it will be you. Go now. Tell the police and the public what has transpired here." she said. As much as she would like to kill them both, this was the agreed plan, and she needed someone to talk about what happened here and why. It was simply human nature. Nobody could keep their god damn mouths shut.

Agnarsson did not need to be told twice. As soon as the door shut behind him, Lela raised her gun.

"Goodbye, Nursson" She said as she pulled the trigger.

Agnarsson was trying to run as fast as he could out to his private helicopter. Sweating and panting, he made it over to the side of the plant where the police was preparing to go in, and hurtled himself towards the police, finally dropping from exhaustion. He'd split his pants in the process of running there and his collared shirt on the drop down; his outfit was clearly not made for running. He prayed as he was running, thanking God for His mercy in letting him be spared. He swore an oath in his mind at that very moment, that he would not rest until Lela, Peter, Alexey, and the traitorous chef Frederick were handcuffed and in a prison cell somewhere, thinking about the error of their ways. Agnarsson managed to pull himself up and stand. He yelled at the police, who were just around fifteen feet away. "OFFICERS!" he yelled. The officers came over straight away.

"John Agnarsson, CEO and President, Inisqimaan Incorporated." said Agnarsson. He stopped to pant briefly a couple times, and then continued. "The plant's about to blow. They just shot the Prime Minister. The whole staff is poisoned and dead, and Mr. Day's poisoned too. We have to go in there quickly, get the Prime Minister's body, and split. The terrorists will die in the explosion, I'm sure of it!" The officers nodded, and then proceeded to break into the building with C4. About two minutes earlier, this was where Nursson was shot. The Prime Minister's body was lying on the floor, and the room was empty. From the look of things, the terrorists had gone to blow up the plant. The officers knew this, and collected the Prime Minister's body, along with the body of Alan Day. The bodies were transported to the police cars, which soon sped off into the evening sun, closely followed by Agnarsson's private helicopter.

Some officers had tried to stop the terrorists, but there wasn't enough time. Soon enough, it happened. The power jolted off in Dohar, Hafej, and Luqya. Huge clouds of radiation blew northeast with the wind. Fire blew out everywhere. The power plant was consumed by light.
