"General, they're approaching near Oakshire" the scout quickly spoke to General Martin Rose. A military power of the North Pacific which had stayed dormant for a while, Merconitonitopia, wished to take advantage of South Cronaal's weakened state. Originally the leader of the National Sonacist Party of NEO Rome and Merconia (which was practically dominant over the Merconian parliament), Chairman Tom Per, asked PM Chester Kray to allow Cronaal to become a Merconian Protectorate. Chester said no. Things then began to rapidly escalate into a small war largely ignored by the rest of the North Pacific whilst Syrixia and Nebula fought petty battles over nothing. Merconitonitopia had begun to attack the city of Oakshire, in South-East Cronaal.

"We're doomed, we may as well surrender. Save lives. Chester won't allow it though, he's too optimistic." Martin sighed regretfully. Meanwhile, the large, imposing fleet of steel ships approached the Oakshire Port with intent to kill, to scare PM Chester Kray into submission. The shadows already began to loom over the city port, it was a clear summers day, as they fleet came to a stop as cannons rose up out of the side of most of them.
"Chester we can't fig- They're firing o the Oakshire Port.." General Martin Rose paused for a moment, thinking as he looked down at the ground in shame of the losses that would come of this.

The huge fleet of ships amassed near the vast port, with the largest at the frontlines flying large Merconian flags. Much to the surprise of the citizenry, the ships began playing an extremely loud noise in order to terrorize and intimidate the locals and - with hope - Kray. Many evacuated the area as to avoid permanent deafness.

The idea was to simply scare them into surrendering - that way nobody had to die on either side.

Kray continued to give no answer, he simply ignored them. Instead, he sent soldiers out to the port ,with specialized sound-proofing equipment that allowed them to keep from deafness, onto the port to show the Merconitonitopians that South Cronaal wouldn't give up over a loud noise. He simply assumed they were violent monsters, like the Syrixians and Nebulans he was so used to dealing with on various occasions. The people who didn't think about what they did, just sent soldiers instead of tried for peace first.
"Hold fire for now" General Martin Rose commanded, they'd only turned on speakers at this point and didn't need to be fired at. Martin then walked out onto the port, facing the ships with a stern, angered face. He had light skin but his graying black hair contrasted it, his military uniform was light blue and still had the old Flag of Cronaal on the back of it and he was 49 at this point.

Kray continued his silence.

"This man is fucking insane..." thought the Chairman aloud to himself. "He is dooming his people. No wonder he got himself into this mess... God knows how he became Prime Minister..." He turned his (constitutionally questionable) Cabinet. "Tell this man if he does not surrender many will die for nothing. If he does not he clearly cares not for his subjects."

(OOC: Some of this may be incorrect, it's what Chester thinks of you, don't fret Syrixia, Nebby or Boots.)

Chester received the comm.
"No. We will not become your slaves." He answered, everything he knew of the world was based on Syrixia, Nebula and Guslantis but all they showed were extremes so Chester thought extremes. He thought the Merconitonitopians were violent dictators like the Nebulans, jumped to war for the slightest action like the Syrixians and had over the top, dramatic personalities like the Guslants. He sighed. This issue was highly depressing, Cronaal barely had a military after most of it was killed whilst out at Rhuvanland or garrisoned in Smithworks. It also had no government or capital, he was all that was left and he was doing awfully. The streets were filled with crime and riots grew larger each week. He was an awful leader but persisted.

"Martin? Fire."
"Affirmative Chester."
General Martin Rose commanded his 1000 or so men to fire at all the Merconitonitopians they could, they all knew they would fail.

All ships were ordered to cease creating noise and some of the ships at the front were ordered to attack. They were told not to fear killing the soldiers but to be careful not to cause major damage to the infrastructure that they would have to repair later. Despite the ships being of lesser technology, thanks to superior firepower the soldiers were succintly slaughtered almost systematically.

Once again, Per ordered his Cabinent to tell Chester Kray to surrender else serious damage would be caused, and he would be held responsible.

"Invade me if you so wish." Chester replied, not leaving it clear if it was a yes or no.

The Chairman just stood there, silently enraged, for a while. Eventually he spoke up. "Well then. Cronaal is now officially a protectorate of the Merconian Republic. We will provide military and financial aid where necessary. They will be expected to allow us access to their resources and facilities, tax base and - if in a time of crisis - soldiers and weapons. Now that we have access to their technology we can begin to mass-produce modern weapons which will prove very valuable for reasons of defense."

You paused again before exclaiming "As for Kray, he is to be expelled from his position as Prime Minister in time. For now we will organize a temporary dictatorship of sorts, before organizing an election to establish a new government. It will be mostly sovereign, although we may need to intervene if necessary."

In Pigletville, Tucker was awoken by his GusNet tablet. "What in the-", he began, seeing it was early in the morning. "Man, does war never wait until at least the sun comes up? It's like 2:00 AM!", he yelled, getting out of bed in his underwear and proceeding to get dressed. He put on his glasses and contacted the only person he knew was awake at this hour: Alicia Burns.

In her room inside the Charles Palace, as expected, Alicia was up, wearing extremely large glasses and pajamas. Her hair was tied up in a bun and she had a headset on. "Roger that, HottieHunk432, this is GingerGladiator17. If we time our attack properly, we can defeat the boss level on our first try," she said to her laptop buddy as she played the latest version of "Guslant Gladiators". Her orange cat, named Gastria, came over and sat on her lap. "What's up, buttercup?", she asked before her laptop pinged her, scaring the cat. Gastria ran from Alicia's lap as she looked at the laptop. "Sorry Hunk, we'll have to beat the Boss tomorrow morning. Duty calls," she said before answering Tucker.

"Hey Jordan! Why did you call so early this morning? Did Ayuda shut down the Guslant power line again? Sometimes he just gets angry at you for telling him to shut up. He has feelings you know," she began. "Great...anyway, we have an issue. Cronaal is under attack...," he began before Alicia started laughing at her own joke. "Robots can't have feelings! What am I talking about?", she joked before laughing. Her laugh sounded like the mix between a mule and a hyena, and Tucker was not amused.

"So, whatcha want me to do about it, Tucky?", she asked. Tucker glared at her. "Don't call me Tucky. That's a start," he said angrily. "Sorry," she said, adjusting her glasses. "Anyway, what I do want you to do is contact all the Ministers and see which ones are up. I want an official Guslant statement soon," he said. "Does this mean I get no sleep? The perks of being a Minister is sleep, right?", she asked. "No. Now, get everyone up," said Tucker, hanging up on her.

within the comms centre Sebt connected to Guslantis and Cronaal, spy satellites had picked up the invasion attempt and he had been hurriedly summoned to the chamber "I take it we're needed?" he said wearily having barely gotten to sleep.

We demand that Merconitonitopia refrain from attacking or annexing North Cronaal, on threat of all-out war.

In that case, we will leave you to your business in the South.

We hope that you reconsider soon.

Meanwhile, in Syrixia, everyone in Parliament was up. They'd been up for hours and the legislation had been drafted to condemn Merconitonitopia. They were not to deliver it yet, however; they first had to bring this up to the international community.

The armed forces of North Cronaal have been put on high alert against action by Syrixia. Any attempt by Syrixia to maneuver forces in the waters of North Cronaal will be stopped with military action.

Syrixia has no quarrel with the North. It is looking to keep its treaty ally free of Merconian rule.

However, we feel that an increased Syrixian presence in the region poses a threat to our sovereignty, particularly if Syrixian forces enter our waters even temporarily.

Syrixia does not plan of even entering Northern waters, as the Merconians are only attacking the South.

The Confederation is considering its options but as South Cronnal and the Confederation are members of the Helmebaine Alliance, we have a right to intervene on their behalf. We ask the Merconitonitopians to lay down their arms and back out of South Cronnal as we do not wish to see a resumption of war after the Great War inflicted such a heavy price. It is our sincere hope that peace will prevail instead of mindless violence.

The Kingdom Republic of Ceretis condemns the attacks and subjugation of the Cronaal people and are in support of the views of the Confederation of Kalti. We pursue a swift, peaceful, diplomatic resolution to this situation and seek immediate cessation of hostilities and withdraw of Merconitonitopian forces.

Syrixia congratulates South Cronaal on keeping its independence and thanks its fellow Helmebaine powers as well as other nations who helped in the movement to keep our ally and friend independent! May South Cronaal, the Helmebaine Alliance, and peace live on forever!
