Repeal "Liberate Panem"

Category: Repeal | Strength: N/A | Proposed by: Velkon | Resolution link | World Assembly forum thread

Description: WA Security Council Resolution #153: Liberate Panem shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: The Security Council:

Recognizes that the resolution to "Liberate Panem" has served its purpose, as the region now remains firmly in control of natives who have the region's best interests in mind,

Knowledgeable that a restoration effort may fail to succeed if the natives are unable to protect their region from outside, unwanted forces,

Cognizant of popular support of not only a repeal of this liberation - but a revival effort as well - by the natives,

Hopes Panem's current inhabitants will fulfill their promise, which is near impossible to fulfill with a liberation in place that prevents them from placing additional security over their region,

Hereby Repeals SC #153, "Liberate Panem".

This resolution is an example of a frequently recurring scenario in the Security Council: First a liberation is passed to help a native community recover their region. Then once the recovery is completed, the liberation is repealed to allow the natives to safeguard their region against any future attacks. In this case, there were originally concerns about whether the repeal was actually support by the native community of Panem. However, in the end sufficient evidence was provided that that was indeed the case, through the co-authorship and posts in the Security Council forum by Signs.

Seeing, therefore, that this repeal represents a typical Security Council procedure and is supported by natives, it is straightforward to recommend a vote in support.

There has been an approve campaign for this and it is very rapidly gathering approvals, so it is likely it will go to vote this major.

If you read the SC thread, there are a few concerning issues about this repeal (as well as the original liberation). But it seems to be supported by the natives, given their posts in that thread, so I am inclined to support it.

For.
