Bangui also named SuperSport Rangers defender Joel Rüffier as captain.
Midfielders Jardel and Franck Tiote and striker Druze are expected to lead the Naizerri line, although Bangui has admitted he doesn't quite know who out of Prince Samba or Maham Karim will start in goal. ANCFA sells tickets to inaugural demo match at Augustine International - "Can't Touch This"
The August No-Contact Football Association is selling tickets to its first event at Augustine International, Imperium's largest amphitheatre. Branded "Can't Touch This", a reference to a popular song, the match is a demonstration between two squads, each taking half of Imperium's international team and filling remaining positions with star athletes from various other sporting disciplines.
The match is projected to fill the Amphitheatre, with seats being auctioned off for charity. Commentators suggest that this is an attempt to hype no-contact football, a sport which has traditionally been unpopular in the Imperium, by producing a full house with a number of celebrity appearances. Prominent stars include both squad captains, neither of whom are signed to a no-contact team - on Red Squad, legendary Aetherrat pointman Kostantine Adrianopolis is one of Imperium's most popular sportsmen in history, and on Blue Squad, women's wrestling titleholder "Prima" brings to bear one of the fastest growing grassroots brand campaigns in the North Pacific.
The international team captain and vice-captain will both be serving as referees, ensuring a game that will be as fascinating to watch as it is terrifying. Captain Marcus Attilius Regulus, also the Captain of the Straits Legion, was selected as a distinguished officer in the Imperium's Youth Service, becoming the youngest NCO in the history of the Youth Service at the age of 15 thanks to his service in the 2011 Annual Protest Day. He brings to bear a highly offensive military doctrine that has lasted through the ages, and is widely acknowledged as one of the North Pacific's most aggressive forwards. Vice Captain Volumnius Flamma Violens is generally considered to be one of Imperium's strongest playmakers, bringing a solid knowledge of sports to Regulus' general tactical and managerial acumen. As a sweeper, Violens is a crucial secondary playmaker, with his incredible Harpastum pedigree giving him almost unmatched situational awareness and surprisingly competent personal skill, whilst retaining the capacity to control the flow of the defensive play without hindering offensive independence.
A number of well-known independent musicians and comedians have been invited to provide pregame and postgame entertainment, in return for free seating. Time will tell if this gambit puts Imperium soccer on the map.
A spokesperson has suggested that this will be the only event at Augustine International before Imperium's first international game.
Russian Republic 4 - 3 Naizerre Perov (45+1, 66), Anishin (49), Kariyev (76) - Jardel (5), Toure (31), Biro (83)
Man of the Match: Vova Perov (Russian Republic) - Attendance 80,001
Naizerre's first international game in recent times was an exciting affair held in the Russian capital of Petrograd but ultimately ended in a 4-3 defeat. Jardel, identified as one of the great hopes of Naizerri football, opened the scoring 5 minutes into the game, whilst Vova Perov had a hand in all 4 of the home sides goals, scoring twice.
Naizerre's physical game kept Zemnaya largely at bay during the opening moments, Jardel seizing on a loose ball after Druze's powerful shot was saved to open the scoring. The Wabiro went 2-0 up at the half hour mark when Druze played marauding left-back Jonas Samba through, and his back post lob was met by Balde Toure's towering header. Naizerre missed a number of chances throughout the first half, Druze twice going close whilst Jardel had a goal ruled out for offside. Half-time loomed but Vova Perov pulled one back at the death of the half, converting Roman Anishin's free kick from close range. 2-1 at half time.
Naizerre's lead lasted just 3 minutes into the second half, as Jonas Samba brought down Perov at a corner, and the referee signalled for a penalty. Samuil Zharkov converted the stop kick to even it up. The 80,000 strong sell-out crowd were delighted at their sides comeback, which was furthered when Perov cut inside of Samba and slotted home at the near post of goalkeeper Maham Karim to make it 3-2 to the home side.
Perov wasn't finished however, as he used his ball control and pace to devastating effect out on the right wing, going past Samba again to slide a pass across goal to the onrushing David Kariyev, a second half replacement for Anishin. 4-2 to Zemnaya Svoboda. Naizerre's Ricard Bangui came off shortly afterwards after suffering a suspected pulled hamstring, replaced by Brin Biro of SuperSport Rangers. Biro would get an 83rd minute consolation that sparked 7 minutes of chaos as Naizerre employed crash ball tactics in order to flood the home team's box and grab an equaliser, but after 93 minutes of action packed football, the referee blew for full time, ending the game in a victory for the Russian Republic, at 4 goals to 3.Norvalkin 2 - 4 Naizerre
Hughes (13), Petrus (33) - Jardel (1), Ruffier (40), Druze (57), Robert (80)
Man of the Match: Prince Samba (Naizerre) - Attendance: 90,567
Naizerre moved on from disappointment in Petrograd to a credible win in Norvalkin City, coming from behind to win 4-2, leaving some of the home fans to rue their team's missed chances.
Jardel again opened the scoring for the Wabiro, jinking his way past three players on his way to scoring just 37 seconds into the game. The travelling support were delighted as Naizerre dominated the opening 10 minutes. The lead would not last much longer however, as Norvalkin's Viktor 'Tank' Hughes powered home a 30 yard strike to even the game up. Hughes had a hand in Norvalkin's second, playing in Janos 'Atlas' Petrus to fire past Prince Samba.
Staring at another defeat, Naizerri captain Joel Ruffier scored his first goal in 4 years in all competitions, scoring from Druze's corner. 2-2 at half-time. Naizerre manager Nelson Bangui rang the changes at half time, bringing on Joseph Nbime, Yaya Tano, Tiro Robert and goal-scorer from the Petrograd game Brin Biro. Biro would make a difference here again, playing in Tano at the near post, who would slam a shot against the crossbar before Druze bundled the ball home. 3-2 to the visitors.
Nbime and Robert ran the game for most of the second have, the former playing in a less-advanced central attacking role than his usual striking duties, and he succeeded in drawing defenders to him and gaps started to appear in the home sides defence. Robert took advantage of one of these to power through and lob the onrushing keeper. 4-2. Norvalkin would be forgiven for thinking they deserved something from the game, having 13 shots on target. Naizerre goalkeeper Prince Samba won his team the game, and himself the Man of the Match award with his performance.
Naizerre name unchanged squad for Syrixia game, visit to Imperium planned
Fresh off of two exhibition games against the Russian Republic and Norvalkin, Naizerre team manager Nelson Bangui confirmed leaked reports that the team would play a match against the Syrixian international side in the 175,000 seater Balamb Grand Stadium, in Syrixia's capital. Bangui refused to answer questions on whether High Chief Mboto Jones knew and approved of the fixture, saying only that "politics and sport don't mix". Bangui also confirmed that a visit to the Imperium Augustum was a subject of discussion amongst the team management.
In a move that TNP International Soccer Association chairman Borislav Vulkov said was "a sure sign that football continues to grow in popularity and participation" it was confirmed that Guslantis will play Sadakoyama in a match that will see a mixed team take the field for Guslantis. Vulkov confirmed that this did not break any of the ISA's existing rules, although its Leadership Committee will "continue to identify issues with our ruleset and revise them to match the expectations of fans, players and sponsors". Sadakoyama will also play host to the Syrixian side as the latter ramps their own preparations for competitive international football.
The Wabirö Dome in Wagbätä will host the International Invitational, a four team tournament to be played in round-robin style, ISA chairman Borislav Vulkov also announced, as the International Soccer Association launched their own long-term vision for competitive international football in TNP. Mr Vulkov was speaking to an assembled crowd at the ISA's headquarters in Ravenclaw and announced the International Invitational as well as an unconfirmed larger tournament called the TNP Cup will be held in every other year with the TNP Cup winners hosting the International Invitational after their success. Naizerre will host the first Invitational although the location of the TNP Cup is as yet undecided.
The other three nations competing in the International Invitational are to be announced soon, Vulkov added.
Pigletville announces its bid for the first ever TNP Cup, claiming to rise from the ashes for the cause.
The Monarchy of Guslantis, in a daring move, announced publicly for the first time today that they will be looking toward inaugural cup being held in the jeweled city of Pigletville. Though the official bid is below, we got to speak to Alicia Burns, Minister of Information, to describe the bid. "Pigletville is the diamond city. Any Guslant will tell you that. It is a perfect city because it is so updated and new. I'll let the bid speak for itself however."
Pigletville TNP Cup Bid
City: Pigletville
Motto: Rise from the ashes.
Player Hotel: Maron Luxury Hotel (a block from the Thomas Complex)
Stadium: Jewel de Fleur Stadium
The Monarchy of Guslantis, and its shining city of Pigletville, place before the ISA and the region, a beautifully configured bid to host the TNP Cup for the first time in the region. As a state-of-the-art city, Pigletville has a stadium, the Jewel de Fleur, constructed not far from the Thomas Complex, the Maron Luxury Hotel, and Pigletville International.
With that being said, all of the functional portions of the event are within walking proximity to each other, though we don't recommend walking in the big city. In addition, we hope to bring in foreign artists and designers from across TNP to help design the final logo used for the Cup, as our artists spent only a few hours on the logo for promotional purposes, and the Association should not consider this a final drafted logo.
Players for the teams will stay in the Maron Luxury Hotel, separated by gender, and then by room capacity, in compliance with the hotel. The fee on the hotel and its amenities are paid for by Pigletville, but any room service or extra fee paid for by the players is not liable by the Maron or Pigletville.
We hope the Association considers our bid, and asks any questions that it may have. For now, please enjoy a teaser trailer made by the Federation of Guslant Football.
Syrixian capital Balamb formally announces bid for the first TNP Cup
Following the bids of a few other nations to host the first ever TNP Cup, Syrixia decided to get in on the action. Syrixia is known to be passionate about its soccer, so many knew this was coming. Syrixia reopened the newly renovated Balamb Grand Stadium on April 27, 2015, and since then the stadium has been packed with event after event. John Yse'qi, Minister of Homeland Security, said the following when asked about Balamb's bid.
"Why wouldn't we make a bid?" said the Minister. "Balamb is a beautiful city, which shows the true prowess of Syrixian engineering as well as the power of capitalism. Skyscrapers dot the city, and the latest technology is a thing of the past here. Balamb is always looking to innovate, and that's why it excells. It blows every city in Syrixia outta the water, and remember, it all started as a small fishing village."

City Motto: The Shining Pinnacle
Proposed Motto for the 1st TNP Cup:Shine like the Stars
Player Hotel: Grand Imperial Resort (Two blocks from the stadium)
Stadium: Balamb Grand Stadium
(OOC note: I used/edited the flag to get the O, and not the coat of arms alone, so I'm not breaking the law)
The Most Serene Republic of Syrixia hereby places before the ISA and the world, a bid for the Syrixian capital city of Balamb to host the inaugural TNP cup. Balamb started out as a small fishing village but grew meteorically over the years to become one of the world's largest cities. Along with the Twin Towers, the cleverly designed headquarters of Inisqimaan Incorporated made to look like the letters "II", as well as the massive Parliament Hall complex, Balamb also boasts one of the world's largest restaurants, the Balambar, which contains food and cuisine from nearly every nation.
For the Cup itself, we present both the Balamb Grand Stadium, which seats a stunning 170,000 people, as well as the Grand Imperial Resort, rated 6 stars by most of Syrixia's major hotel-finding companies, which has also been stayed in by numerous international dignitaries during visits to Syrixia. All of the functional portions of the event are very close to each other, as Balamb is divided into various districts. The Grand Imperial Hotel, as well, was chosen for its close proximity to the Grand Stadium, along with its amenities and ratings. In the event that Balamb wins the bid, we will be presenting our proposed logo and motto to the world for further review and possible editation.
Players for the teams will stay in the Grand Imperial Resort's best rooms, and may separate themselves in whatever array is needed by whomever has the authority to do so. The fee for the hotel, its amenities, and any room service the players request will be paid in full by Balamb, as well as a tour of the city should the players opt to take it. To conclude, we hope the Association considers our bid, and asks any questions that it may have. We recommend you watch the teaser trailer provided above.
