THE FUTURE:
WAR, TRADE, AND EXPLORATION
WAR, TRADE, AND EXPLORATION
It is a period of much change for the nations of Planet Eve. While technology has considerably advanced since the present, newer advancements have allowed humans the capability for casual space travel. Many nations have taken to the stars, many for very different reasons. Some nations aspire to conquer and gain land and influence from their extraction of resources and appropriation of wealth.
Other nations aspire to gain scientific data for research purposes, or to simply explore for the thrill of the exploration. However, whatever the case, a new age is beginning for the planet. However, it will not be a peaceful one. While many nations seek peace and knowledge, there are nations who instead turn to the dark side of these new capabilities, as mentioned before. These nations will become great threats.
Now, it is your turn to send your nation spiraling into the stars! Let the adventures begin!
OOC Thread: http://forum.thenorthpacific.org/topic/7389377/1/
1. No godmodding or metagaming.
2. No spamming or flaming.
3. Do not post anything that may be considered offensive in any way.
4. Keep all out-of-character (OOC) comments to this roleplay's OOC thread.
5. If any one of these rules are broken, the OP will ask you to edit the post. This is mandatory. Failure to do this within a certain period of time will result in the administering of a warning. There are no second warnings; a second transgression will lead to ejection.
6. If you are ejected from the RP, you may not return unless the majority of the participants have a consensus to let you back in.
7. If you were asked to edit your post or are ejected and fail to understand what happened, ask around for an answer.
8. Do not claim outrageous amounts of space, and do not advance to the Star Map very quickly. The time will come when the Star Map will be unlocked.
9. On the Star Map, your ships are only allowed to travel on the designated routes. If you are in a nebula, things will be foggy and your ships' instruments won't work as well. If you are near the Black Hole, you may be sucked in if you get too close. You may attempt to get closer to the black hole than the planet near it, but do so at your caution.
10. Most of all, have fun! If you need help understanding anything, ask a fellow participant!

Companies control the lions share of their field but not everything in their field. Please narrow your scope a little from whole sectors to allow for the number of people interested. Corporations would be clearly the leader in the tech, and clearly control the market share, but not everything in their field. (e.g. SUGGESTION: They control say 49% of their field, while everyone else controls 51% combined; that means each player would only control about 3% of the field compared to your 49% lions share with the majority of advancements in that field.)
