I am looking forward to adding the position of Vice-Delegate to the list
1. Why vote Tomb?
I have served this region in a variety of capacities in my time here. I have worked with many members throughout the different organizations in TNP such as the cabinet and The North Pacific Army just to list some. I have been successful in my areas of work thus far, and I do believe that I am ready to assume a higher leadership role within the region, and to serve TNP in greater capacity. In conclusion, I care for this region and its safety and protection, and I have enough experience to serve as Vice-Delegate if necessary.
2. Role in the Regional Assembly and Powers
I personally believe that everyone who meets the criteria to join should be able to join the Regional Assembly. This of course excludes security threats. To me or under a Tomb vice-delegacy, a security threat is determined by a vote of Security Council. I do have a good judgement to decide what's a threat to the region and what's not, but I want to increase the Security Council's say in determining a security threat. And that's the only time I will ever use my power to reject an application. From that point on, it's up to the Regional Assembly to further pursue admitting an RA member if they see reason.
3. Role as the Security Council Chief
As the Chief of the S.C., I do plan to make sure that all S.C. applications are processed swiftly and efficiently. I am also going to be promoting and trying to get people to join the S.C. The S.C. protects The North Pacific and keeps it safe of a rogue delegacy, and it is important to stress out the importance of this organization and promote membership in it to the members who meet the criteria to join. In addition to this, I do plan to work with the Delegate to make sure the S.C. members more known to all TNPers. This can be done through events such as the Security Council week that recently concluded. It is important that all S.C. members seek out to The North Pacific community and be known to them, since they may have to become the Delegate if the need ever arises. Other than that, I do believe that the S.C. Procedures need editing, and I look forward to starting that with the rest of the S.C. first thing when I am elected.
4. Opinion on in-game endorsement levels
It's usually very common for nations in The North Pacific to have high endorsement counts. Especially now with the current WA programs being launched. Nations who endo tart and reach high levels of endorsements are not always secret agents who want to take over the delegacy. And so, I believe it is vital to understand the intentions of WA members with high levels of endorsements. If the intentions are well and if they are cooperative, then these members can become part of our community and contribute to the safety of the region and securing the delegacy to the legitimate Delegate. And if the opposite intention is true, then it's important for the S.C. to act quickly to put a stop of the security threat. So what is the high endo count? It's very common to find members with 100 endorsement with TNP, and mostly there are rarely any security risks or threats in that range. However, when a member starts to gain anywhere between 250-300 endorsements, I believe that it's important to invite them to our forum and to congratulate them on reaching the levels of endorsements they reached.
5. Strong vice-delegate.
I have received a question from a TNPer asking me whether I feel I would be a strong vice-delegate or not. Of course, if I didn't think I was able to fulfill the duties of the job, I would not be campaigning for it. So that's one thing. In addition to this, I do believe with the cooperation of the S.C., and the help and of the rest of TNP, I can leave the Vice-Delegate’s office looking better than I received it.
5. Relations with Cabinet
6. Transparency
This is a topic that has been really hot this election cycle with at least two candidates incorporating it in their campaigns. As far as transparency of the S.C., I do believe that not all things have to be revealed. Of course, it is important to know how the S.C. functions to keep TNP safe, and that’s something that needs to be revealed, but at the same time, the S.C., like the NPA and many other organizations needs privacy to function in a healthy and secure way. Like previously stated, former operations and actions made by the S.C. need to be revealed, but I do believe that on-going operations and actions that need privacy should have it. I also look forward to publishing a list of standards that I will go by when checking Regional Assembly applications so that people know what the Vice-Delegate is checking for.
7. Conclusion
I owe much to The North Pacific and everyone who has helped me here. I feel that now is the right time for me to campaign for this office, because I believe the experience I have and the support from you all will help me start an excellent term in the Vice-Delegacy. Remember that I am campaigning for this office because I want to keep and make The North Pacific a safer. And through your vote and your trust, we can do just that and much more.
Thus, I rest my case. Please feel free to ask any questions, and I will be more than happy to answer them for you. Remember there are no dumb questions no matter how ignorant they may sound.
Thank you,
~ Tomb
