This May, The North Pacific will be electing a Delegate, a Vice Delegate, and a Speaker, to serve until the next election in September. Any Regional Assembly Member is eligible to run, excepting that mcmasterdonia is unable to run for Delegate due to term limitations.

To run, one must either accept a nomination or simply declare candidacy in this topic. Nominations, acceptances of nominations, and declarations of candidacy must be posted in this topic to be valid. Acceptance of a nomination is understood to also constitute declaration of candidacy (you cannot take someone off the ballot by removing your nomination of them at the last minute). This allows for transparency and clear record keeping. All nominations, declarations of candidacy, or acceptances of nomination are legally required to be posted during the nomination period, which is from (time=1398902400) and ends at (time=1399334400). One may only be a candidate for one position in this election, so acceptance of nomination or declaration of candidacy will be understood as withdrawal from candidacy for all other positions. Per the Regional Assembly Passage of the Reopen Nominations Fix Bill, nothing currently prevents a candidate from running for multiple offices. Voting will be from (time=1399334400) and ends at (time=1399766400).

This topic is intended for nominations and may not be used for campaigning. Please keep in mind that lying about the election is election fraud, and that lying for any purpose is fraud.

For Delegate I'd like to offically nominate Romanoffia for Vice Delegate Punk D and for Speaker Zyvetskistaahn if it so pleases the other ECs. Thank you.
 
I am unable to stand for office as I am an EC. Thx though maybe next time. As an EC I am unable to accept your nomination at this time so I must respectfully decline.
 
I'd like to point out to the Other ECs that the OP needs updated it says a person may only accept a nomination and run for one position in an election cycle. (Paraphrasing)

The RA passed the RON (Reopen Nominations) Fix bill that did away with this provision. Here.

Currently as I read the law nothing prevents a candidate from accepting a nomination for/running for multiple offices this election cycle.
 
Might I suggest the following additional edits to the original post, removing the space immediately following the ( in all cases?

0000 GMT 1 May 2014:
( time=1398902400)

0000 GMT 6 May 2014
( time=1399334400)

0000 GMT 11 May 2014
( time=1399766400)

These timecodes will evaluate to each user's local time equivalent of the listed times, making it easier for everybody to determine when various stages start and end. :)

You can test it out with the post preview function if you're not sure - basically, the forum turns (time=numbers) into a timestamp. All you have to do is copy those three lines I provided into their proper places (the second one gets used twice) and remove the preceding space (so (time=numbers) and not ( time=numbers)), et voila!

(I had to include that space because even in a code box, the forum will still interpret (time=numbers) and not leave it be.)

If that's still confusing, feel free to hop on IRC and I can walk you through it more slowly. :)
