This is not a campaign

What position do you feel you are most qualified to take if elected to council? Would you prefer to stay in your current position, or would you prefer a different ministry?

which i am best for
depends on who the rest are
elected to serve

MoWA not ready
for simple execution
expect that duty

Crushing Our Enemies:
Elu
Why should I vote
For you out of all the
Other qualified candidates?
Thank you.

That's right, a Cinquain, bitches!

In truth I can't say why you should so vote,
The answer is more yours than mine to say.
I have, in truth, some cause for you to note,
Without regard before your eyes I lay:

I trust my competence is known to you,
I hope you recognize my verity,
My love for TNP remember, too,
And faith with freedom in our polity.

Beyond my traits, you might desire my goals:
I wish for this forum community,
To web our neighbors here into our rolls,
By granting services, like charity.

Though answers be replies, tell me,
If this reply of mine an answer be.

This is not a question.

Eluvatar, it seems that you have gone
And made a sonnet, wow! I am impressed.
You seem as light on feet as does a fawn,
In choice of words, you have been truly blessed.

Haiku, and sonnet, what else can you bring
To the quite fierce campaigns of TNP?
You seem like you've accomplished everything
That would make voters vote for you with glee.

And yet, a question true, a question fair;
It's something that we've not yet talked about.
So now, respond as loud as a drum snare,
in order to chase from my mind the doubt.

Eluvatar, pray tell about the time
you spent as MoC, and make it rhyme.

Kiwi:
A fine campaign! Good luck :)

While campaign this isn't,
your compliment I accept.
Thank you for the luck.

As you ask me to tell, I reply:
WA vote regionalism I did ply.
[bgcolor=#f0f0f0]aaaaa[/bgcolor] Ad hominem ad nauseam,
[bgcolor=#f0f0f0]aaaaa[/bgcolor] turned decorum to sham,
Left little strength our greater dreams to try.

Do you think there are any patriotic ideals which cannot be derided as regionalistic?

(The use of free verse in your reply is acceptable.)

George Orwell would distinguish these two things,
He would consider patriotism benign,
Regionalism a danger much like kings,
Or rather tyrants such as he'd malign.

I would agree that one can split apart,
Illiberal jingoism that seeks to crush,
From patriots holding region in the heart,
Not seeking to those unlike to them hush.

To guard one's home, a region, from a foe,
From enemies without, or yet within,
Is not to gladly find a line to toe,
Support 'my region right or wrong,' to win.

For liberty and justice in our land,
It is safe to for democracy stand.
