Application Thread

Welcome to the beginning of the Northern Chess League, a brand-new initiative hosted and presented by the Ministry of Culture to bring one of the oldest games in the entire world to The North Pacific. In the past, we've seen interregional chess arenas co-hosted with our friends from The West Pacific. We've also seen games being played by individual members of our community in the interim. This, however, is something completely new that we're offering!

So, how is this going to work?

Applications will remain open from now until February the 12th. Then, everyone who applies will be entered into a league where every player will face one other player each week (or whenever the players are available). For each game, the winner gets 2 points, the loser gets none, and a draw awards one point to each player. Once everyone has played each other twice, the league is over and the person with the most points wins. It's as simple as that.

What do I need to do to participate?

1. First, you'll need to create a Lichess account if you don't have one already. Don't use an account if the username contains any personal information! It's strongly suggested that you create an account with your nation name, but ultimately, it's up to you.
2. If you already have a suitable Lichess account, then you can ignore step #1.
3. Finally you'll need to fill out the application form below.
