Hello everyone, I’m Mete. I didn’t originally expect to be running for Speaker. To be honest, this process has developed quite quickly for me. I initially stepped into the role of Deputy Speaker to gain experience and better understand how the office works. While I may not have years of experience in this position, I’ve been actively learning, adapting quickly, and taking responsibility where needed.

The Speaker’s Office is already functioning, and credit should be given for that. My goal is not to rebuild everything from scratch, but to strengthen what works and address the areas that slow us down.

I won’t promise major changes, because I don’t believe that’s what this office needs right now. What it needs is stability, efficiency, and leadership that takes responsibility seriously.

If elected, I will focus on delivering exactly that. This role may be new to me, but I will not be passive in it.

Thank you.

Nice campaign, I like seeing fresh faces in elections.

What areas do you think are slowing the Speaker's Office down?

One key issue I’ve noticed during this process is citizenship applications. While applications are being reviewed, their processing in the system is sometimes delayed or not completed promptly. I’d like to address that.

This isn’t about individual effort, but rather about how the process is structured. Without a standardized workflow, tasks can end up depending on who is available at the time.

Obvious follow-up question: How are you going to address the delayed applications?

My goal is to ensure that applications are processed and recorded at the same time, rather than treated as separate steps. This alone would eliminate a large portion of the delays. If an application is approved, it should be entered into the system and all necessary records should be completed immediately not left for later.

In addition, applications should be handled in a clear chronological order, from oldest to newest, rather than jumping around. This helps prevent any applications from being missed. At the moment, this can unfortunately happen, and some applications do get overlooked.

You've been a fantastic Deputy Speaker and you've learned a lot in such a short amount of time. Kudos to you for taking a brave leap to run for office.

That being said, I do have a question. What is the difference between Celebration Days and Memorial Days?

Thank you for your kind thoughts.

I wonder why you're asking this.

Celebration Days encompass positive national or cultural days that include achievements, victories, and significant milestones. They are meant to honor individuals or groups of people. They involve joy, pride, and happiness.

Memorial Days, on the other hand, include lost lives, tragedies, or difficult events in history. Their purpose is not celebration, but respect, mourning, and ensuring these events are not forgotten.

What's your opinion on orange?
It's a color I love very much. So vibrant. I went to Adana at the beginning of this month. Adana is a province of Türkiye. Every year in April, they hold the "Orange Blossom Festival". The whole city was filled with orange colors.

He’s asking you that because those are types of days in our law, in the cultural section. He wanted to know if you were aware of that and what impact they might have on your job as Speaker. You should refresh yourself on that concept and that may reveal why he felt this was relevant to the job of Speaker.

I ask you to see if you’re familiar with our laws. Thank you for your answers. Follow-up: Do Celebration Days and Memorial Days affect regional business, or not?

Another question. Suppose an applicant with their nation in the World Assembly applies for citizenship here. They pass the Speaker’s check and the Vice Delegate’s check, but fail the Admin check on the grounds of a mobile IP. What is the proper procedure?

I understand, thank you. There's a lot to it. It takes time to master all this information.

I've reviewed the laws.

It's impossible to memorize all of this, at least not for me. But it's good to look it up from time to time to stay informed.

Celebration Days may be observed by regional events, festivals, games, contests, or other activities designed to evoke the spirit of the holiday.

Memorial Days preserve and honor the memory of important historical events. They will be observed by a temporary halt to non-essential government business.

Step 5b is applied;
If an applicant fails the Admin Check due to them not having a residential IP address, wait for the Vice Delegate to perform a re-evaluation on their application. Be sure they meet the criteria, which is outlined below:
  • Applicant does not have another forum account,
  • Applicant did not apply with a proxy/VPN,
  • Applicant's nation they applied with is in the World Assembly.
If the Vice Delegate still has not performed the re-evaluation and it is nearing 5 days, reach out to the Vice Delegate.

By "I will try to strengthen what works and address the areas that slow us down" what do you plan to strengthen and what you do you think slows the legislative office down?

While I think it’s a bit early for you to throw your hat in the ring, I’m glad to see you have the courage to do so. That’s a leap that few people would take. I won’t be voting for you in this election, but I’ll be looking forward to seeing what you get up to in the future.

As I said, citizenship applications aren't progressing as quickly as I expected. Some applications get overlooked. Even if they don't get overlooked, their processing is delayed. I aim to eliminate this.

Thank you for your comment. I understand it's an early nomination. I still have a lot to learn and experience.
