  • To encourage members to be more active on the forum, badges, points, a level system, or similar incentives could be helpful. Participation could increase if users were rewarded for their contributions.
  • "Most Active Member of the Week" badges, tasks or mini-activities, levels based on the number of shares (they exist, but are insufficient).. Awards should be visible on profiles and should include visuals.
  • Regular polls, such as "Weekly Top Stories," could be conducted.

Many years ago, (decades, even...) I was actually banned from a forum for spamming. Not because my messages were unsolicited commercial garbage like the scam casinos we see today, but because those messages were caught as an attempt to climb the post-count-based rank ladder. I was responding to stuff in ways like "Sure!" or "I agree!", just as a way to get my post count up to reach the next rank. I was caught, and I was banned. As I was new to that forum, I appealed, explaining my naivety and inexperience, and was permitted to participate under watchful eyes. I never broke their rules again.

I don't want TNP to have to deal with ranks-for-posts. Considering we have literal spam games that contribute nothing to the community but count towards your post count, a rank-for-post scheme would be easy to abuse. No thank you.

If you think about it, we already have an incentive program in place. Continue to contribute on the forum or the RMB and you can vote on the region's leadership or run for leadership yourself. That's huge, and I think that's enough.

That makes sense, and I completely agree on avoiding post count incentives.

My thought was more about manual, quality based recognition rather than automated ranks but I understand the concern. Thanks for explaining the reasoning.
