August 2025 Special Judicial Election Certification

The 12-hour-long challenge period has now passed, and the Election Commission is now ready to vote on whether or not to certify the Reopened July 2025 Judicial Election results as presented to them by the Election Supervisors, and whether or not to accept the sole challenged ballot, per Section 4, Clause 10 of the Election Commission rules:

To certify the results, the Election Supervisors will promptly present the results of the election to the Election Commission for certification by majority vote. Simultaneously, the Election Commission will also vote on the outcome of any outstanding challenged ballots. All certification votes will end as soon as an absolute majority of non-absent commissioners have voted or twenty-four (24) hours have elapsed from the start of the vote, whichever is sooner.

The vote will have four options, option A, option B, option C, and option D:
A. The results of the Reopened July 2025 Judicial Election are certified and the outstanding challenged ballot is accepted as currently recorded.
B. The results of the Reopened July 2025 Judicial Election are certified and the outstanding challenged ballot is rejected as currently recorded.
C. The results of the Reopened July 2025 Judicial Election are rejected and the outstanding challenged ballot is accepted as currently recorded.
D. The results of the Reopened July 2025 Judicial Election are rejected and the outstanding challenged ballot is rejected as currently recorded.

Votes for certification and for acceptance of the challenged ballot will be tallied separately according to the option chosen by each commissioner.

Every non-absent commissioner may vote. The following Election Commissioners are present and eligible to vote:

Per the vote, the election is certified (unanimously) and the challenged ballot is thrown out (4-3).
