The Security Council,

Recognizing that this body has no stance on slavery and the disgusting violence perpetuated by its existence,

Shocked that slavery continues to be an institution maintained by an alarming amount of nations across the world,

Understanding that slavery is not able to be simply defined by a basic definition and therefore exists in various forms,

Considering that the slave trade can source individuals from other nations that do not condone the practice of slavery and by doing so by disturbs the peace,

Applauding this august body for previously condemning nations practicing slavery such as in SCR#20, SCR#61, and SCR#104,

Imploring that this illustrious body continues to condemn nations for employing the practice of slavery,

Hereby declares the Security Council’s position against slavery.

This resolution proposal is seeking to make a declaration regarding slavery, which the resolution proposal implores the SC to continue to "condemn nations for employing the practice of slavery".

Recommendation
The irony is not lost on this Ministry that the purpose of this resolution proposal is, um, largely for raider-defender operational reasons. Using the topic of slavery for queue stuffing is in our view particularly tasteless. There really isn't anything further to elaborate on.

For the above reasons, the Ministry of World Assembly Affairs recommends a vote Against the at-vote SC resolution, "Declaration on Slavery and Its Violence". ```

To be clear here - this is not a serious proposal. This is also a queue stuffer, submitted when raiders evidently got a bit desperate about their shot at victory in the region Eclipsis. From a strategic perspective, it does make a certain kind of sense, because everyone loves to approve "Declaration Against Slavery And Its Violence," and who could ever vote against that?

Totally tasteless and embarrassing to treat a very serious real-life issue this way, for political gain. Against.
 
Rule 3(b) of the SC rules says "if something can be addressed within a General Assembly proposal category, it should be handled within one of those rather than a Declaration." This rule is very rarely used.

The question regarding the rules is far more interesting than the content of this proposal. Even if not illegal for stepping on the GA’s turf, I dislike it nonetheless for its lack of vision. There is a brief suggestion about the SC condemning future nations because of slavery. This could have been developed further, perhaps into an apparatus akin to F&NI’s Amistad Declaration. Instead, this feels very uninspiring. I am therefore against it.
