Announcement of Changes to The North Pacific's Policy on External Campaign Telegrams
The Ministry of World Assembly Affairs would like to announce that going forwards we will be asking foreign nations not to send tag:wa campaigns about World Assembly resolutions to The North Pacific. I will be asking the Delegate to discuss next steps towards ensuring The North Pacific's sovereignty is paramount when we discuss World Assembly messaging. Please note that this policy change does not affect telegrams sent only to the in-game delegate.
Tomorrow, most likely, a new delegate will be sworn in. Whether a new minister marches into my office and cleans it out, or I am invited to return, it's been an honor to serve The North Pacific as her Minister of World Assembly Affairs. As my final action for this term, I declare 2025 the Year of National Sovereigntism. The trend of resolutions being repealed will continue, this administration's work is not finished. Alright, so this is where I provide an update about how things have been going. As mentioned on discord, I've been MIA for much of this term and while that isn't ideal, real life sometimes just hits you like that.
However, I would be remiss not to mention @Pallaith 's excellent work writing commendations for our citizens, including Siwale and Sil Dorsett as of recent.
It's at this point where I'd like to appoint a new deputy, someone who I think has shown promise so far in WA writing.

The recent vacancy in the Minister of Culture position being filled means that I am now your new WA Minister. I understand that I may be a new face to many of you. After all, I only joined the region a month ago! In addition, this is my first leadership position in my four years on NationStates. You may be wondering why I even stepped up to this position in the first place. The reason is a care for this regions’ institutions, a wish to make this ministry thrive, and a belief in helping out. I believe that I have the sensible ambition, determination, and energy to not only do this position justice but serve this region to my fullest extent, and that’s what I plan to do.
First and foremost, I want to give credit to where credit is due. @Jinkies has been an absolute joy to work with and learn from. I want to personally thank her for her kindness, hospitality, encouragement, and support whilst I have gotten acclimated to my various WA duties over the past month. It is my honor to take over the reins from her and I congratulate her on her new appointment. In addition, I want to thank @Chipoli, who has only been welcoming and helpful these past few days. And finally, I want to thank my fellow regionmates, the people who have taken time out of their day to congratulate and be amiable towards me despite the circumstances. Seriously, you don’t know how much this means. Anyways, enough diddle-daddling. Let’s get started.
It wouldn’t be right to not detail the problems that have plagued this ministry, arguably for quite some time at this point. We’ve been struggling with a lack of activity, engagement, and motivation, that at some points has led to multiple of even our basic processes failing. While this is understandable given the circumstances, it is equally unacceptable. The Ministry of World Assembly Affairs is an institution with a storied past that is one of tradition, success, and service. It is critical that it is kept to the high standards it has so often met throughout the years. While there is only a little over a month and a half left in this term, I have a couple priorities:
We need to get our IFVs published and upvoted onsite, within a reasonable time period, and ensure they are of a serviceable quality, as they have been down for a few months at this point. This accomplishes a few things. For one, it increases engagement in the World Assembly with the onsite community, and informs our region about the current WA proposals in a concise and effective manner. Secondly, it increases possible engagement with the ministry, as it is a task that is easy, but needs to be completed relatively often. Finally, it increases our ministry’s prominence on the world stage, especially if we can get these on the first page, which can lead to multiple more benefits from there. While I don’t have an exact timeline on when this will get “done” or when we can call this accomplished, I can assure you that it will be at a consistent point within a few weeks or so. Our first IFV in two months was published just a couple days ago, and I am extremely confident in getting this done.
I want to get more people involved with the ministry and increase staff engagement. Obviously this is easier said than done, and is definitely a more broad priority, but it is still imperative, and something I know is achievable to an extent. This ministry cannot just become a one person think-tank. While some other ministries might be able to get away with that sometimes, this ministry works off of interaction and debate. I want to thank @Nutmeg The Squirrel, who has been a great help with any questions I have had over this transition, and the few staffers who have also contributed. Hearing from a wide variety of viewpoints is how one interacts, learns, and improves. I’m hopeful that my activity will lead to a better environment, less burden, and more participation. I have further steps I want to take regarding this, and I’m encouraged by recent developments, especially the response we have seen from numerous people looking to help out earlier in this term. I’m looking to accelerate some of the small improvements we have seen, and I’m confident that we will get on the right track with this.
While that’s it for my main priorities as we look towards the end of this term, I would like to delve into a couple more things here and also provide a little bit of an update regarding the goals set out at the start of the term and some of the current WA situation. In the GA, a number of repeals have hit the books, just as set forth. We are currently swimming in the biggest repeal wave in WA history, and I think it would be more than safe to call this term a win for National Sovereignty. In the SC, as mentioned a couple times previously, @Pallaith has worked his magic so far, as two TNP commendations have passed just within the term so far, with more still to come :p. I want to thank him for his amazing work once again, as he has been single-handedly carrying on this front. Our main goals in both of these chambers have been successes, and here’s hoping that continues.
