No, but the foreigners’ predominance and crowding out the Santonians from sports must be stopped.

What a stupid idiotic opinion. I am ashamed that you support the team I play in. Are you implying that somehow Santonians are not good at sports that’s why we need a quota? I am insulted or outraged, depending on what you consider me to be.
By the way, I am Matthias-Vertigier Bracquemond d’Élbée, midfielder for the Saintes-Saints-Brice Football Club. My mother is half-Prydanian, half-Predicean. Am I a foreigner to you, @JÉGenêt? Who crowds out native Santonians from team sports?
Well, stop me if you can. Arrêtez moi si tu peux !

Hugberg Steenstrup here, midfielder for AJ St-Tobie de Coire. Thank you Brac for your kind words, even though our teams are in fierce competition for the trophy.
This is not the first time I heard hurtful comments such as @JÉGenêt’s. It means so much to me that other Santonians like you stand up and support me and people in the immigrant community.
I agree, let’s challenge @JÉGenêt to stop us if he can. #ArrêtezMoiSiTuPeux

It doesn’t matter what team you play with, Hugberg.
Our teams may be rivals for the Coupe des Ligues this year, but we are all humans and deserve to be treated with dignity and respect!
Also, you really played a good game last Sunday! It was a good goal!

My parents originally came from Hvalsey in Prydania. I was born here in Coire, Saintonge. I play as a striker for AJ St-Tobie de Coire. I am also a Lieutenant in the 494th Marine Territorial Battalion, 49th Territorial Regiment, Royal Santonian Army Reserves. Part of the militia of the department of the Haine. Ready to defend this country from its enemies. @JÉGenêt, you think I still am a foreigner who takes away ‘slots’ from Santonians? Stop me then, if you can.

My name is Hallbjörn-Brice Bonsergent, 18 years old, and I had just returned to Stade Beaunais FC after doing my National Service. I was a Prydanian Civil War orphan. I was adopted by caring Santonian parents, who gave me their surname and taught me to respect everyone. My time in National Service reinforced my love for this country that had adopted me and gave me so much.
And yet people like @JÉGenêt deny my Santonian-ness. Stop me if you can, @JÉGenêt! #ArrêtezMoiSiTuPeux

Nice hashtag you got trending there Brac!
People like @JÉGenêt and opinions like his are unneeded in society right now. My surname hints that somewhere up in my ancestry, there was foreign blood there. But my family have lived in Saintonge for generations and we consider ourselves Santonian. I had never been anything but a Santonian, but there are rare times that I still get remarks for my ‘foreign-sounding’ surname.
I imagine it would be even more difficult for the more recent arrivals, those who were born in a foreign country and had to adapt and adopt to Saintonge. The last thing we need are some nativist xenophobes telling immigrants they don’t belong to the country that they have adopted and loved.
Them being Prydanians, Prediceans, Hessunlanders… that is a part of them. But them being Santonians – it’s a choice they’ve made. The fact that they chose Saintonge speaks volumes about their love for this country. And we, Santonians who are lucky to be born in this great country, should appreciate and welcome them for loving something that’s a part of us, something that we sometimes take for granted.
