Parliament + Some Government things
Sorry, I'm not very versed in forum things. This is the Parliament Visualization. Right there. That spoiler.
unknown.png
The total number of seats is 200. The next spoiler is a description of each party currently on parliament.
The United Socialist Freedom Party: The current Prime Minister is in this party. This is a far-left orginization that upholds the idea of Socialism, and also tries to be very progressive. The party is so big that they basically decides what happens in Parliament.
The Polihian Unionist Party: This party is Centre to Centre-right. They try to keep the good things in Polihy, and usually oppose new bills because of the idea that they might backfire. They do vote for repealing bills they deem unhelpful or irrelevant.
The Royal Party: This party is mostly for returning to the old days, with the Emperor or Empress in power. This party has usually existed with only a few seats but more recently has gained traction when a popular politician from the Unionist Party revealed he was a descendant of Iuytzili Fiu’leyli, one of the last Ddirect heirs for the throne.
The Expansion Party: This is a Right-wing movement that wants to make Polihy's military much bigger, and wants to buy bits of land off other countires. The leader of this party is a retired Colonol.
The Polihian Nationalist Party: This is an extremely far-right party that wants the country to be "free" of people not originating in Polihy. They believe that every other country is terrible and are mostly at odds with every other party, the exception being the Expansion Party.
The Old Shoe Party: This is a joke party started by an independant politician. He didn't expect to actually be elected, so he usually votes with the Socialist party or abstains.
Independant: Simple. They have no party.

Polihy's [incomplete] history. This is just a rundown. Also it is not done, hence the [incomplete]
It all starts 672 BC
Polihy starts as a hunter-gatherer tribe, much removed ex-citizens from Meterra.
They sop became a normal city, centered in the ancient town of Py’aiou (ancient Polihian for ‘tree door’). It soon expanded to Oisio’poli, modern day Greenwater. Many more small villages remained, but these two cities were the main hubs. At around 21 B.C they were a properly modern civilization, for the time. An invading force known as the Feihu (bane) invaded, and leveled Py’aiou before leaving shortly. Oisio’poli, the new biggest city, prepared for an imminent attack, but with no other reason for fighting for hundreds of years, were extremely unprepared. But as they attacked, a beast from legend seemingly protected them from defeat, known as the Le’feihu’feihu (known commonly as the Leviathan). A transcript from an ancient manuscript is recounted below.

“They [the Feihu] crossed through the water, but a mighty storm rose, and the wind rose, [unintelligible] roared, and lightning struck. A [peal] of thunder shaking the very ground, and Le’feihu’feihu, rose high into the sky from the depths, and tore them asunder. The water from it’s wake covered the forests. Thus Polihy was saved from their [the Feihu’s] wrath.”

What most likely transpired was an earthquake caused a tsunami to sink the Feihu’s fleet, given the fact that water covered the forests and the ground shook. As there is no evidence that the Leviathan actually exists (and written accounts were very uncommon), this is the assumed theory. The Leviathan is still the national animal in Polihy to this day.
Poliu’pele was founded, and soon became the largest city. At around the 1600’s, they established contact with much of the world outside Auroria, and started to explore nearby islands and start friendly relations with other nations. It is about now that we get to the subject of rulers. Before 1625, Polihy was a loosely-governed nation, with barely any definable leader. However, noticing that much of the rest of the world had leaders, and indeed, kings and queens, we enter the Empire age.
The first Empress was Ahuitzhl Dassei, and she unified Polihy and firmly set Poliu’pele as the capital. She erected a huge palace, but much of the citizens were unsatisfied. They wanted more say in the government, and organized protests. However, the Empress mainly suppressed them with her police militia. However, her rule was cut short when she was out riding a carriage and was shot 7 times by a group of protesters armed with crossbows.
This the rule was given to her cousin, Adden Dassei. Empress Adden was quick to placate the protestors, and established an elected court that had half the power of the royal court. She mostly went along with its wishes, but her mistake was when she tried to stop the elected court from getting more power, and then completely abolishing it. This was twenty years into her reign, and this sparked a civil war between loyalists and protestors. The protestors were extremely underprepared and were defeated in 1642 (a single year after it started). This stopped much dissent, and she passed the reign peacefully down to her son, Emperor Roiui Dassei in 1661.
Emperor Dassei tried to wrangle the last pockets of resistance, but mostly failed. He died from Swihiu disease, but at the time it was considered a curse. The reign passed down to his oldest child, Empress Teuia Dassei in 1690.
However, her sibling Roiui the second, (known as Roiui the failed) tried to stop her from ruling, and quite obviously from his title, executed in front of a large crowd. She passed down the reign uneventfully when she died in her sleep at age 78, which was quite old at the time.
She died in 1742, and her son, Emperor Waiha Dassei, aged 50, at the time, contracted a severe form of typhus soon after assuming office. He died without any siblings or children, and without declaring a heir, causing the nation to go into uproar. It was eventually decided that one of his cousins, Drii’hiu Dassai and Iuytzili Fiu’leyli, would have the crown.
Drii’hiu wanted to fight in single combat, a sword-fighting ritual used to resolve disputes, but she was countered by Iuytzili, who wanted a traditional game of Gliholi, a game akin to modern day chess. The Royal court (composed of the remaining seven of royal blood, the rest killed by typhus) ruled in favor of single combat. There is a written account of the duel.

“Drii’hiu was revered for her swordplay, but Iuytzili for his intelligence. We anticipated a battle that would end with no death, and a honorable rise to power, but this was not to be. ‘You shalt not live, you spineless cur’ Drii’hiu doth spoke, but Iuytzili responded not, for he has practiced his own swordplay the week since it was announced. The battle started, and they assumed fighting positions. No dare spake, not to face the wrath of the victor. Drii’hiu rushed forth, her sword flashing, but Iuytzili blocked every sword thrust seamlessly. He had studied her swordplay, living on the same grounds, and knew her tricks. But knowledge wasn’t enough if he didn’t have strength. Drii’hiu came with thrust never seeming to tire, while Iuytzili did visibly tire. Drii’hiu smote him through the gut, and in his death throws, did skewer her through her neck, doth killing them both.”

This record is the most complete and lies within Polihy National Museum. After the death of both prospective rulers, Polihy was soon in an uproar again. After much pressure on the Royal court to make an election for the people, they were overthrown in a mostly bloodless coup. The royals who resisted were given no quarter and the others were set free on the condition that they do no further action. (5 of the 7 members surrendered, 1 was killed trying to escape, and the last was given a pardon) This marks the end of the Empire age, and the beginning of the Modern era.
It took a few years, but the first things that were established by the fledgling government was that everyone was part of the nation, and that everyone was equal, and thus gets equal treatment. The first Prime Minister was Yuiiuio Fiu’leyli (son of Iuytzili) and was elected in 1746. He put huge reforms on the government and was credited for much of the political progress back then, and was very progressive for the time. The next president was Xihol Annskuld (elected in 1756), and is widely considered to be the best president in the history of Polihy. He cemented the reforms made by Yuiiuio and preserved its history and protected the nations forests and wildlife. There is a whole slew of Prime Ministers after this point, each contributing some, but never changing the government much. The current Prime Minister is Tezca Annskuld (Elected 2018) and is trying to adapt meaningful alliances with other nations.

Traditional Games (not done)
Gliholi: Gliholi is a traditional game like chess or checkers. It is played on a playing board made of squares in a 5x8 fashion. There are 8 separate playing pieces on each side of the board, each controlled by a different player. There are 4 different types of playing pieces. In the direct middle of the board is the Emperor/Empress, depending on what player is playing. It can move 1 space in any direction. The two to either side are the Court, which move is a 'L' fashion, much like the Knights in chess. they can also 'jump' over your opponent's pieces and your own. The one at the far end are called Warriors and move in straight lines. The three remaining pieces are the same and are fanned out in front of the Emperor/Empress. They can either move 1 or 2 forward. You can't actually 'capture' a piece by hitting it with one of yours, but rather by 'flanking' it. If you have three pieces surrounding a single piece is the 8 squares surrounding it, you capture that piece. The first person to capture the Emperor/Empress wins. You must go on your turn if you can.

Religion (Also not done)
Percentile: 34% Polik, 22% Courantist, 22% Atheist, 13% Westrui'i, 9% Other
What is the Polik religion? The Polik religion is based on sets of morals and doesn't acknowledge any God as part of their religion. Knowledge is power, and Poliks strive to be as smart as you can be. (SET OF MORALS NOT COMPLETE)
What is the Westrui'i religion? The Westrui'i religion is based on the Leviathan. When the Leviathan (supposedly) saved ancient Polihy, it was revered as a God and protector of the land by many. Though it has faded from being the foremost religion, Westrui'i still makes up a sizable chunk of the population. It's a very passive religion, and there are no churches or temples for Westrui'i, but whenever they are in trouble or the country is in turmoil, they pray to the Le'feihu'feihu to protect them.

The Assassination of the First Empress
This was briefly talked about before
Ahuitzhl Dassei was the first Empress, and established Poliu'pele as the capital. She advanced Polihian modernization, but also also ruled with a tight fist, and often didn't care for her citizens. When Swihiu disease ran rife through a large swath of Greenwater, she did nothing. This sparked protests, that more often than not, turned violent. it is estimated that between 200-1,000 protesters were killed, and 10-50 police militiaman. Soon the protests made their way to the palace gates, and Empress Dassei relented and allowed aid to be sent to Greenwater. This placated most protesters, but a more violent sect thought that the only way to stop this from happening again is to remove the Empress and assume power themselves. They hatched a plan, and a few of them hid in the bushes by a path that the empress most often went in her Prydanian-made carriage. however, this time she was with her aide, Alice Swiy'i. The armed assassins brooked no opposition, and the empress was shot seven times by crossbow bolts. Her aide rushed back to the castle to get help, and the assassins did nothing to stop her. Empress Ahuitzhl Dassei was pronounced dead at the scene, and a public manhunt began, and 8 of the 10 were found, and executed.

The Polihian Civil War (1641-1642)
Also briefly talked about before

This civil war was sparked by underlying tensions and the current Emperess, Adden Dassei. The emperess abolished the royal court, (which she made) and tried to take back the power she had given away. A popular noble spoke out against the crown's ways, and tis sparked protests, whih were quickly dispersed by the Emperessess' militia. This only increased when the noble was found dead from a "chandelier accident". A retired soldier, I'ius Cased rallied a movement to kill the Emperess and take power. However, they were severely underarmed, with only a few people having guns and most having pitchforks at best. They attempted to disguise it as a peaceful protest a half-kilometer from the palace, but the soldier had heard of it from a spy. They ambushed these rebels, and over 300 died and around 200 were captured, and it is said only a dozen escaped, agaisnt the casualties on the Militia's side, which numbered less than a score. Among those captured were I'ius, who, at his execution, made a call to arms to abolish the crown. He and another 25 were executed, and the rest spent years in jail. His cousin, Jalen Cased, decided to switch to Guerilla tactics and recruited ex-soliers who shared his belief. This time, they declared themselves seperate from the nation, calling it "New Polihy". The Royal court soon sent almost half the Militia to where they were rumored to be hiding, but found none. This time, the rebels were well-armed. So the Royal Court sent out spies. Eventually, 2 months into sporadic killings of soldiers and distantly-related royals, a spy finally found their way into their clutches. he almost immediately told the Court where they would be found. Anywhere from 200-700 were killed in the following massacre, with an unknown amount of casualties on the royal's side, which were rumored to number around 100. However, Jalen Cased and 56 rebels were unnaccounted for, and after another half-year of sporadic killings, they were found, captured, and executed without trial. The exectution wan't made ublic until after it wa over. This Civil War and the events that led up to it are considered the darkest days in Polihy's history. A total of 213 soldiers and Anywhere from 600-1000 rebels were killed, along with around 300 innocent civilians caught in crossfire.
