Milo Kolyev sat in his office in the Ministry of Culture sipping coffee and looking through papers. A particular paper that caught his eye was a bill, the bill was requesting that the government establish an organization to manage the education system. “That makes sense” Milo said to himself.


Milo reached over to his radio and tuned it to Radio Samoyava, the familiar sound of folk music began to play. Milo went to his computer and began to type out a letter to be sent to the president’s office.

President Lazarev was eating breakfast when he noticed a new email on his computer. It was from the Minister of Culture. He opened it and began to read.

Mr. President,
I have submitted a formal request for the establishment of a Department of Education under the Ministry of Culture. When the administration reconvenes next week, I intend on bringing up this issue to both you and the ministry.

Lazarev took note of the details and closed the email. “Finally.” He thought. “Something to discuss other than tragedy.”

He stood up and walked towards the door of his office.
