Due to the success of my previous two threads, I decided to create a military sizes thread. Post the sizes of your military here, and the necessary information, and see how you compare!

We have universal conscription for both male and female from 18-55 with the years following compulsory service being in 'reserve' status. We maintain high numbers with minimal cost (Though still bloody expensive) by having fairly outdated equipment (ie 50 year old rifles, no body armour besides a pressed steel helmet), and by never throwing out old equipment. If the final drafts of reserves are ever called up they might very well be issued with single shot breach loading rifles, or in even more desperate circumstances nothing more than a knife. Paramilitary forces would be the national Militsiya, or police force, though highly unlikely they would ever be utilised outside of a siege situation involving the city in which they are stationed.

Hahahaha. No. You do not understand the pure logistical failures at a military that size, needless to say the rest of your country. I'm ixnaying this because really, come on.
 
The only times the reserves are called is in national defence and I lack the ability to deploy overseas as I have a minuscule navy, these numbers were established months ago in a different thread and no one seemed to have a problem then.

Though if I do have to change It I'll need to do some rewrites of my FOC on my laptop and get back to ye... lotta divisions will end up vanishing
 
Also just re checked my figures and I am nearly bang on the same percentages as North Korea, which is what I was going for originally

The fact that the RP moderators missed that thread is any oversight on our part, as we would've headed it off there. We're trying to keep this RP world from going full bonkers (despite the dragons bit), so it would be appreciated if in the future *everyone* could check with the RP mods on military sizes before suddenly announcing that they have a multi-million man army or something equally ridiculous.
 
Well I am basing it off of a real nations numbers, though I am giving my men even worse equipment than the NKorean armed forces. But if ye do insist, I will alter it
 
If you somehow were aloud a 30,000,000 man army, I'd be pretty gosh darn terrified to share a border with you. I have barely enough personel to man the borders. :blink:

I know the discussion on this is over already, but you actually would not want all 18-55 year old people in the army anyway, as then you have no economy. A 1-2 million man army with good equipment is better than a 10 million man army with nothing else for the whole county.
 
Theyre not in the army, they would be in reserve. I.e they recieve their compusory military training, then they go about they're lives as bakers or whatever. And if need be their unit is called back to the colours.
 
It would be advised for anyone outside of Cogoria, Xentherida, and the RP mod team to please refrain from commentary. We're here for a reason.

Out of curiosity, have you considered using google docs for this and the other threads like the population one? It would mean that all someone would have to do is click on the link to view it whenever they wanted and that will always be your latest version, instead of you updating an excel spreadsheet, reuploading it, updating the link, and then the person referencing it having to download the new copy to have the latest version. It also means they can view it wherever they are in just a new tab instead of needing a computing with office on it (or uploading it to google drive and viewing it with that.) I think it'd be a lot more convenient for everyone involved is all, I'd be willing to help you set it up as well if you like.
 
I did try google spreadsheets for the currency thread for a while. It was tedious to replace every single page, and I base everything on Excel directly. If someone is dedicated enough to transfer everything onto google spreadsheets, then I'll use that. And I mean all the code and everything.
 
I'm also willing to help migrate these files to Google. In fact, I've already done the military numbers sheet. Check your Discord messages.

Since outside of Ninhundland, every other individual nation has nearly 1,000,000 troops less than me, and that i'm not more militaristic than anybody else (so I have no justification for much higher troop numbers), I have also decided to revise my numbers.

Altonova is a military state of long living people. One year of compulsory active duty then you are in the reserves until a certain age.
