How this works is simple,
One person says "Knock Knock"
Another says "Who's there?"
The third person can say almost anything it doesn't really matter what it is. (For all I care it can be a third grade essay about how you like cats.)
Example
Person 1: "Knock Knock"
Person 2: "Who's there?"
Person 3: "(insert something funny/witty here.)"
