Deputy Speaker Schedule
As promised in my election program, I have created a schedule in which every member of the Speaker's Office will have their designated days on which they preform routine tasks. I now present the following schedule:
MondayTuesdayWednesdayThursdayFridaySaturdaySunday
Prov (Lead) and VapiaMatzerati (lead) and VapiaMatzerati (lead) and VapiaMatzerati (lead) and ProvGriddyland and Matzerati (lead)Matzerati (lead) and NoscarCloud (lead) and Prov
A few notes on this schedule:
  • 'Lead' is for the most experienced member that day, they will guide the lesser experience member if necessary.
  • This Scheduling is mostly aimed to give all Deputies the abillity to conduct tasks, and therefore get more experienced. Therefore it is not as tightly regulated as it seems.
  • This Schedule can always change on request. I will edit this post if a change happens.

Closing Address, January 2025
It has now been a little more than 1,5 months since I was elected Speaker following Arafuttio’s resignation, and I think we can look back on a pretty successful end of the term.

We managed to complete pretty much all of the remaining Speaker’s Guides, a project that had dragged on for the last 2 years. We also managed to successfully revive the RA Digests, with 3 editions being released throughout the remainder of the term. Even though we started off pretty quiet, with zero votes in the first couple of weeks, at the and we got the opportunity to process a few of them.

My sincere gratitiude goes out to my team of Deputy Speakers: @Cloud, @Prov, @Griddyland, @Vapia and former Deputy @Noscar, thank you all for joining and assisting me in my first steps of being Speaker!

When I accepted my nomination during the Special Speaker Election, I never intended to just be a filler Speaker for the remainder of the term, and I think I have succeeded in doing it. I hope for the next term I can continue with my contribution to this amazing region!

Sincerely,
Matzerati
Speaker of the Regional Assembly

Opening Address

There I am again! After a very hard election battle, I managed to become your Speaker again! This time it will be a full term instead of the 1,5 months I have served so far. I want to thank you all again for trusting me to fill the office of Speaker. I will do everything I can to maintain this trust.

As for my Deputies, I am reappointing @Cloud, @Vapia and @Prov as Deputies. @St George will also return as Deputy Speaker. They need no further explanation, and I'm certain that they will once again prove to be an invaluable asset to the Office and the region in general. I am also pleased to welcome a new face as Deputy Speaker: @Cosmic! Cosmic may be new, but they have already shown themselves in the NPA, rapidly climbing up to the ranks of Officer and even Minister of Defence! After showing his interest in helping in the Speaker's office a while back when I was running things as a Deputy myself, and once again just before this election, I didn't have to hesitate for a second to appoint him. Deputies, please take your oaths promptly.

A few things as a start:
  • Just like last time, a working schedule for each Deputy will be created. I hope to publish this next week.
  • The next edition of the RA Digests is still scheduled for release this Saturday.
  • I hope to do an audit for the Citizens and Residents sheets and groups this week.
  • As discussed, all Cabal members will receive their Vote Multiplication Tools as soon as possible.
Let's make this term amazing!

Sincerely,
Matzerati
Speaker of the Regional Assembly

Deputy Speaker Schedule
Back again with another schedule for the term! With this schedule, all lesser experienced Deputy Speakers have been assigned with a more experienced member, which will help them in improving their own knowledge. The schedule works the same as the one from the previous term, so if anything changes, this post will be edited accordingly.

Mr. Speaker, I would ask that if you do a cleanup of the citizen/resident registry's sharing permissions, that you preserve my permissions despite not being a deputy, as it would allow me to continue troubleshooting and fixing the scripting in the sheet.

If you look at Extensions -> Apps Script, and then Code.gs, references to stanpit.thenorthpacific.org were my changes to fix the checks. That's my droplet.

I'll keep this in mind should I decide to do a cleanup again.

Another Audit
Today I've conducted an audit on both the Citizens and Residents sheet and group.

The following discrepancies were found:
No discrepancies
Filbustan Resident - in group but not on sheet
Noscar - in group but not on sheet
Varanius - in group but not on sheet
Corrective actions taken:
Filbustan Resident - has citizenship, removed from group
Noscar- has citizenship, removed from group
Varanius- has citizenship, removed from group

In total the number of discrepancies has decreased from 13 in the previous audit to only 3 in this one.

@Prov has resigned as Deputy Speaker and has renounced their Citizenship. I thank them for their service, having worked with them the last 2 terms, and hope they can one day return to TNP.

@Cloud has resigned as Deputy Speaker. I want to express my sincere gratitude for their service the last 4 terms, first as Speaker and the last 3 terms as Deputy Speaker.

Some announcements

After the resignations of 2 of my Deputies, we were looking at a bit of a shortage for the remainder of the term. Therefore I am pleased to welcome @Picairn back into the Office as a Deputy Speaker. I've reached out to him to see if they were interested, and luckily he was. Picairn is already experienced, having served as a Deputy before, so I'm confident that having him back will strengthen the Speaker's Office. Please take your oath promptly.

Another announcement is that I will be taking a leave of absence from February 25 to March 02. @Cosmic will be Acting Speaker during this leave.

Sincerely,
Matzerati
Speaker of the Regional Assembly

I have been elected Justice in the recent election, and so I must regrettably say goodbye to the Speaker's Office. It's been an honour serving as Deputy Speaker, and I have a feeling this won't be my last time serving in this position!

I thank @Picairn for his service as Deputy Speaker. Even though his term was quite short this time, he has yet again proven that he is able to do wonderful things for the Speaker's Office, having created a dispatch with an index of all RA Digest issues. I wish him luck with his new position as Justice.

On another note, I am happy to welcome @Cloud back to the Office as a Deputy Speaker. They have reached out to me saying that they were able to serve again. Please take your oath promptly.

Deputy Speaker Appointment

I am happy to announce that @Petronellania is appointed Deputy Speaker. They have shown interest in the position, and I am certain they will do a great job as a Deputy. Please take your oath promptly.

I am hereby tendering my resignation as Deputy Speaker.

Disinterest in gameplay and a general uptick of personal work no longer allow me to serve in this position. I thank the Speaker for the opportunity.

Due to being appointed Minister of Culture, I'm afraid I have to resign as Deputy Speaker. I've enjoyed my time working with Matzerati and the rest of the team and truly believe that the Office is in a good place. I wish you all luck for the rest of the term.

Thank you for your service, and good luck! I have trust that you'll get the ministry back on its feet!

Leave of Absence
I will be taking a leave of absence from April 19 to May 04. I will still be available and will be there to do some work, but this is somewhat limited due to this leave. Deputy Speaker @Cosmic will be appointed Acting Speaker during my absence.

Sincerely,
Matzerati
Speaker of the Regional Assembly

Closing Adress

As of writing, it has been exactly one year and one day since I was appointed Deputy Speaker, but it feels like it was only yesterday.
First of all, I want to thank my Deputies: @Cosmic (who also happens to be my successor) and @Petronellania, and also former Deputies @Riyu, @Picairn, @Vapia and @St George. You have all done an amazing job, and I am proud to have been able to serve alongside you!

When it comes to the plans I've made at the start of the term, I sadly wasn't able to really make a huge effort like I did in the previous term. The proposed annotations to the Legal Code still remains unfinished. However, I do feel like other promised I have made were kept. Since the start my term, including the half-term I served following the resignation of my predessessor, we have been able to revive the RA Digests, having produced a total of 11 editions. The timely and correct handling of regular business succeeded overall, with only a few mistakes made (which is natural).

When it comes to the Speaker's Guides, a project that has been dragging on for more then 3 years now, I believe we have finally made the necessary steps towards completion. With a total of 11 guides, of which 6 were written in the last 6 months, I believe almost all basic tasks have a guide for them. This means that new members of the Speaker's Office are able to learn and try to complete these tasks much easier. However, I feel like we can never fully say that the Guides are finished. My successor @Cosmic has some great ideas on his own, and I look forward to see how this will work out.

My sincere gratitude also goes out to everyone in TNP who has enabled me to serve as your Speaker this past 6 months. I would like to wish @Cosmic and his future team of Deputy Speakers the best of luck. I fully believe the Speaker's Office will be in good hands, and I will follow any future developments closely as a normal peasant Citizen.

Perhaps I will rerturn to the Office in the future, but for now signing off for one last time,

Matzerati
Speaker of the Regional Assembly

Opening Address - May 13, 2025

I would first and foremost like to thank you all for the trust you have placed in me by electing me Speaker. Congratulations to @Chipoli for being reelected delegate and @Halsoni for being reelected Vice Delegate, I look forward to working with you both. I would also like to open this new term in the Speaker’s Office with a thank you to @Matzerati, who placed their trust in me at the beginning of the last term as a Deputy Speaker, and had a huge impact in my journey to become the Speaker of the Regional Assembly now.

Some quick things to note:
- Speaker’s Guides - as I noted in my campaign, the Speaker’s Guides are almost entirely complete, with just a few things outlying. I’m going to try my best to get the things that I have noted done as early into the term as possible, and as things come up that need to be changed/modified throughout the term, we can make those modifications.
- Schedule - the schedule for the Speaker’s Office will be forthcoming as soon as I and all the deputies get acquainted.
- RA Digest - The RA Digest schedule will stay the same, and the next one will be published this Sunday.

Lastly, on the topic of Deputy Speakers, one of my campaign promises was to bring in new Deputies in order to lighten the load. I am happy to announce that I have already managed to do this. First, I hereby reappoint @Petronellania as Deputy Speaker, who has done a tremendous job in the Speaker’s office over the past term. Additionally, I am pleased to announce three new Deputy Speakers to add to our ranks. I hereby appoint @AraFuttio, who has already served two terms as Speaker in the past. We'll certainly appreciate their experience coming into the new term. I am also hereby appointing @Ornge and @Orange. Ornge, having only regained citizenship a month ago, has been extremely active in our community and already served on the election commission for one post :)! They expressed interest in the Speaker's Office to Matz right before the end of the last term, so I’m happy to welcome them into the office. Orange has served well as a gameside advocate since the start of the term and has been very active and engaged in our community. They expressed interest after I contacted them and I’m sure they’ll serve in this role admirably. Please all take your oaths promptly.

Let's make this term great!

Cosmic
Speaker of the Regional Assembly
