Guess the Song Lyric

Post some lyrics from a song and the rest of us have to find out which song it is. The rules are that no one posts new lyrics until the old ones are discovered, and whoever discovers the source of the lyrics will post the next set of lyrics. I will start.

Krzy?a dzieje we mnie wtul.
Matko, Matko, mi?osiernie
Wejrzyj. Syna Twego ciernie
W serce moje wra? jak w cel.
Rodzonego, m?czonego,
Syna Twego oriarnego
Ka?? owocn? ze mn? dziel."

Alunya

A polish translation of Litany To The Virgin Mary translated by Jozef Janowski. (I had to google it because Polish :P)

You are almost there!! Janowski did indeed translate the original Latin poetic prayer into Polish.

But the question remains: Who put Janowski's words to music and what was the song called? (Because many classical composers -- including modern ones -- produce variations of the same "song" with regards to liturgical music, naming the composer is essential to identifying the piece from other arrangements.)

I'll accept the short or long name of the piece, in either Latin or Polish, with composer (surname only and anglicized spelling is sufficient.)

And yes, the Cat and I do listen to this.

I believe it's either Dvo?ák or more likely Karol Szymanowski?

EDIT: Piece is called Stabat Mater.

(Also if you do listen to this music, bravo! I've gathered a certain appreciation for classical after playing violin for long enough lol)

Look out kid
Don't matter what you did
Walk on your tip toes
Don't try, 'No Doz'
Better stay away from those
That carry around a fire hose
Keep a clean nose
Watch the plain clothes
You don't need a weather man
To know which way the wind blows!

Patience by Anilyst

Woke up this morning with light in my eyes
And then realized it was still dark outside
There was a light coming down from the sky
I don't know who or why

Firework-Katy Perry.

It's nine o'clock on a Saturday
The regular clowd shuffles in
There's an old man sitting next to me
Making love to his tonic and gin

He sais,"Son can you play me a memory
I'm not really sure how it goes
But it's sad and it's sweet
And i knew it complete
When i wore a younger man's clothes"

Knew it from the 2nd line! Piano Man by Billy Joel. Very good choice.

Sitting on a park bench
Eyeing little girls with bad intent!
Snot is running down his nose
Greasy fingers smearing shabby clothes!

The beautiful 1985 hit Everybody Wants To Rule The World by Tears For Fears.

Just got home from Illinois
Lock the front door oh boy
Got to set down
Take a rest on the porch.

Imagination sets in
Pretty soon I'm singing
Do do dooo

Back to the USSR-The Beatles

On the first part of the journey
I was looking at all the life
There were plants and birds and rocks and thinghs
There was sand and Hills and rings
The first thing i met was a fly with a buzz
And the sky with no clouds
The heat was hot and the ground was dry
But the air is full of sound

A Horse With No Name by America!

I, I will be king
And you, you will be queen
Though nothing will drive them away
We can beat them, just for one day
We can be ______, just for one day

(Somehow this song sounds infinitely hopeful to me and I love that)

Heroes-David Bowie.

You pretty ladies around the world
Got a weird thing to show you
So tell all the boys and girls
Tell your Brother, and sister and your mamma too

'Cause we're about to go down
And you know just what to do
Wave your hands in the air like you don't care
Glide by the people as they start to look and stare

Selene - Imagine Dragons

Lyrics

My God, amazing how we got this far
It's like we're chasing all those stars
Who's driving shiny big black cars
And everyday I see the news
All the problems that we could solve
And when a situation rises
Just write it into an album
Send it straight to gold
But I don't really like my flow, no, so

One republic - secrets

There's something in the water
There's something in the deep
what happened to the summer?
it's swimming round my feet
Theres something round the corner
It's watching every move
Who says you won't recover?
What path you gonna choose?

Summer on this side ignores me
and It knows I'm imagining things
I wonder if it's time to explore it,
turn these thoughts into matter with me

Olympic Ayres-Magic

I ride throught the city's backside
I see the stars come out the sky

You know it looks so good tonight
