Nysa joins Commonwealth in a Landslide Vote:

For the past month a major issue of contention in Nysa has been the debate over our region joining the Commonwealth of Regions. Several individuals were utterly opposed to the move, especially after it emerged that the Commonwealth Senate would demand a full forum merger despite earlier promises by certain individuals. The Commonwealth of Regions was equally concerned that Nysa would not be dedicated to the Commonwealth and would quickly dispose of it. These fears eventually led to calls for a discussion between a representative of the Commonwealth of Regions and the people of Nysa. After it was assured Nysa could maintain an autonomous cabinet room on the old forums for confidential matters, many skeptics of the Commonwealth began to support the move. With high hopes, the vote to request ascension to the Commonwealth passed, and the Commonwealth of Regions' Senate has voted to approve of the ascension of Nysa.

Nysa has now begun its transfer over to the Commonwealth's forums, which is an important change for ambassadors as our embassy program will now be located over here. Ambassadors are required to reregister over here, as our Embassy Row will soon be completed. We thank you for your understanding and patience on the matter.

New Constitution Created, Amidst a Massive Debate:
Nysa's newest Constitution went into effect recently, after much fighting and debating in the Nysan Regional Parliament. There was major concern for some that Nysa's Parliament would have way too much power and for others, that it would hold little power. The debate raged on throughout the weeks, and even threatened to rip the entire Nysan Orgaization apart at one point.

After a massive amount of discussion, a comrpomise Constitution was formed by Battlion and Ikarius that began to change the course of the discussion. Two other draft Constitutions were created and eventually, this led to a four way compromise draft between Carpathia and Moldova, Battlion, Noekath, and Ikarius. The compromise Constitution, which was quickly brought to a vote, raised fears that the region would not pass it. These fears were allayed when the vote quickly turned into an 11 for, two against, and one abstaining landslide.

Battlion Wins, Then Sudden Resignation; Ikarius wins Emergency Presidential Elections by default

After the Presidential Elections (in which Battlion won in a landslide), the Grand Assembly began to get down to work. However, a few issues happened in which a lot of misunderstanding was created, when a few citizens of the Nysan Organization discussed the possibility of recalling the President due to his supposed "difficulty" and their portrayal of him as a "emotionless, controlling, self-interested man who doesn't care for the welfare of this region."

...What happened next is more than obvious. Due to such comments, the possibility of a "coup," and a lot of misinformation, President Battlion resigned and emergency elections sent Nysa into a tailspin. The emergency elections were a brutal fight for all... one... candidates...

...Okay, so maybe they weren't that brutal and exciting. By a unanimous decision, the members of the Nysan Organization turned to Ikarius (the new President), threw the Presidency at him when he offered to run for President, and ran like Hell. Okay, maybe that's a dramatic reenactment, but the result is the same. By default, Ikarius has become the new President of Nysa. Ikarius' plan for Nysa in the future is unknown, but there have been promises of "Nysa's restoration and the growth of its activity."

Nysa and Caprecia begin Roleplay Merger Discussions; Merger is Likely Possibility
Roleplaying in Nysa received an exciting turn of events when Caprecia and Nysa began talks to merger their Roleplaying worlds. Over the past few weeks, the discussions have been quite well, with discussion ranging from population sizes and placement of geography, to the merger of the two regions' roleplaying history. The discussions has gone so well that Nysans and Caprecians have already began two different Roleplays together, with one set in the present day regarding an international crisis/war and another set in ancient history focusing on tribes in the combined history.
The discussion on the Roleplaying merger is expected to be completed in the next few weeks, as Nysa has created its Roleplay Minister position as of the 19th of April, 2013. This new Ministry will become important in the merger as the next Minister will be working closely with Caprecia's own Roleplay Minister.
Stats (AKA: That Boring Stuff):
Nations: 52 Nations
In-Game Embassies: 40 embassies (2 under Construction)
Please note that forum embassies and accounts will not be counted this update, as our transition to the Commonwealth of Region's forums has skewed our numbers.

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL AMBASSADORS:
As we have stated earlier, the Nysan Organization has begun its transition to the forums of the Commonwealth of Regions. Over the next few weeks, we will be appointing an Administrator to create Embassy Row subforums and mask Ambassadors. One again, we request that ALL AMBASSADORS TO NYSA PLEASE REGISTER ON THESE FORUMS. We will be working to establish our Embassy Row to reestablish it to its former size. Once again, thank you for your understanding on the matter.
