At the request of the IDU’s UN Delegate, the Foreign Ministry has assumed responsibility for preparing a periodic report of the activities of the International Democratic Union and its member nations. This report will be posted at each of our embassies and other diplomatic stations, and this report will include the latest news and information about the IDU. We hope to encouage other regions and nations to take advantage of the many services and activities already in place at the IDU forums, and to keep other regions and nations informed about the activities of the IDU in the Nationstates United Nations.
On behalf of the IDU, we welcome all readers to the first IDU regional report.

New Arrivals to the IDU
The IDU has welcomed several new members since 1 September, including:
The Community of Doroteas, the Democratic Republic of Tingst, the Democratic Republic of Klouch, the Federated Islands of Timur Lenk, the Democratic Republic of Lionfante, and the Republic of Rhegulas, the Protectorate of Aspis.

UN Proposal Writing Service:
The IDU UN Proposal Writing Service has seen activity with two UN proposals in September and October of 2006. The proposals are listed along with the sponsor (not always from the IDU) and the current category and strength / impact:

The Air Travel Safety Act has temporarily been tabled pending the creation of a new UN proposal category. Ceorana has been in contact with several game moderators via the UN forum, and it looks as though they will attempt to create a new category for proposals that will better suit the standardization measures proposed in the current draft.
Flag Design Services:
Shadow Kai and Anglo Germany requested assistance with their flag design in September
IDU member National and International Developments:
IDU member nations are participating in the annual IDU Football (Soccer) Championships. Mervatia City, Mikitivity is hosting this year’s championships, which start in mid-October.
Baranxtu is hosting the 2006 Golden Tiger Awards, an international foreign film award competition.
Bears Armed expressed interest in participating in the second NSVision Song Contest
Regional Vice Delegate, Gnejs, reported the formation of the Armed Republic of Emigrated Gnejsians, which seceded from the Green People’s Republic.
