Current Bills Under Debate
House of Lords
The House of Lords currently has two bills under debate, one is the new citizenship act which once passes makes it quicker and easier to grant citizenship and its responsibilities. This bill was brought forward by Haggard.
The other bill currently under debate in the House of Lords is Administration Act which has been approved by both houses. The Administration Act will grant two new additional administrators to help run the forum, giving her majesty more help and will help keep the British Isles active. This bill was written by St. Jon Nassau.
House of Commons
The House of Commons also has to bills under debate, one is the administrator appointments which her majesty has appointed being the Prime Minister St. Jon Nassau and Prince Henry Charles Hanover, Prince of Wales. This bill will help continue administration of the forums.
The other bill currently under debate in the House of Commons is the Anti-Filibustering Act written by British Orange. The bill has passed the House of Commons and is not waiting to be moved to the House of Lords.

New Political Parties
After the last election (October 31st), some political changes have begun to spring about. Currently the Royal Constitutional Party and the New Lions Party have merged to become the RCP/NLP coalition. Furthermore we also have the Conservative party and the Veritas which gives the British Isles four political parties to choose from.





A by-election has been called

After Albert, the MP for Scotland has found his calling with the VRCC, an election has been called to replace him in the government. This election is a major election as it holds the balance of power on who will form majority government. The current candidates running are Tyler Kazakov (Ind), James E. Grosvenor (RCP/NLP), John Smith (SDLP), and George Young (CON). Voting is currently underway. Best of luck to all candidates.

Current events in the British Isles included Halloween activities in which a best Halloween contest was held. The winner was judged by the Culture Secretary Jack Dixie and the Prime Minister St. Jon Nassau, the winner of the competition was John Tyrell.

Elections

By-elections have taken place for the constituencies of N. England and N. Ireland. Clayton, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Secretary, won after running unopposed for the seat, while newcomer Steele of the newly founded British Imperialist Party won against Bryan von Richtofen of the Royal Constitutionalist Party in a close vote. Congratulations fo the new MPs of N. England and N. Ireland respectively!




Constitutional Amendments
Two constitutional amendments that would result in an expanded parliament have been passed by both houses of parliament and have been assented to by the Queen. Following a referendum on 15 December, the amendments could potentially increase parliament by two seats in the House of Lords and the House of Commons.





Legislation
A lot of new legislation has been introduced in the past few days. Prime Minister John Smith has introduced legislation that would create a Ministry of Justice headed by a Crown Prosecutor for Justice that will have new powers to prosecute offenders and train lawyers. Legislation is up to be passed regarding the Election Commissioner, and MP Steele has already submitted his first piece of legislation: The Military Activity and Attendance act.

A state visit has been announced for 14 December 2012 between the British Isles and the region of Kantrias! This will be the British Isles' second state visit following up an immensely popular gathering with the Commonwealth of Denmark earlier this year.

Constitutional Crises

Lord Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Windsor announced a controversial ruling that forced an emergency constitutional amendment to be introduced in the House of Commons. He declared all Prime Ministers selected since the introduction of the House of Lords illegal. John Smith was elected to be the Interim Prime Minister in a bipartisan action led by Kingborough Edwick. (Written by St. Jon Nassau)


By-election in Northern Ireland and Recontestion
The MP for Northern Ireland was removed after a lengthy debate. At first it appeared as if a by-election would not need to take place, as Steele had only been inactive for six days, however, it was discovered that he had not posted since 21st December, which led to his removal.

Lord Renounces Citizenship

MorkHemsko, Baron Hemsko, renounced his citizenship earlier today for reasons that remains unclear. This creates a gap both in the House of Lords and in the NINP. The Queen is expected to appoint someone to the now vacant position in the House of Lords soon. (Written by St. Jon Nassau)


Sgt. Strider/Justin Time Debacle
Last month, Justin Time, a so-called political activist, entered the region and proceeded to bash several people for no good reason. He was banned by court order. More recently, an individual known as Sgt. Strider appeared, attempting to reorganize the region's military and impersonating a government official. Prince Edward, upon checking the IP addresses of both individuals it became apparent that they are one and the same. Strider was banned. (Written by St. Jon Nassau)


New Political Parties Formed
Two new political parties have been formed in the British Isles, the first, a centre-left Post Progressive Party, and the second, the National Unionist Party led by former Defence Secretary William Nassau. (Written by St. Jon Nassau)


Royal British Isles Navy Mission Success
The Royal British Isles Navy, working with Asgard, the North Pacific, Osiris, Unknown, Land of Kings and Emperors, Right to Life and Venetia yesterday raided the Greater German Reich after moderators deleted the founder and while they did restore her later it left the World Assembly Delegate's position executive and a union of diverse regions including our own took the opportunity to return the Greater German Reich a favour. State visit between the British Isles and Kantrias
