Candidacy Declarations: January 2023 Special Justice Election

This Special Election, The North Pacific will be electing a Court Justice to serve until the next election in March 2023. Any Citizen who has been a member for the last 15 days (since January 11th, 2023) is eligible to run for this office. Loss of Citizenship before the conclusion of this election will also result in loss of eligibility to run for any office during this election. A list of those eligible to run is provided below.

To run, one must either accept a nomination or declare candidacy in this thread. To withdraw from running, one must post a withdrawal of candidacy in this thread.

Acceptances of nominations, declarations of candidacy, and withdrawals of candidacy posted outside this thread will be discounted. Acceptance of a nomination is understood to also constitute declaration of candidacy even if no nomination has been made. Acceptances of nominations, declarations of candidacy, and withdrawals of candidacy must be posted during the candidacy declaration period to be valid. The candidacy declaration period is from (time=1674773700) (your forum time) to (time=1675032900) (your forum time). Voting will be approximately from (time=1675205700) (your forum time) to (time=1675637700) (your forum time).

This topic is intended for nominations, acceptances of nominations, declarations of candidacy, and withdrawals of candidacy; it may not be used for campaigning. Please keep in mind that lying about the election is election fraud, and that lying for any purpose is fraud.

If I got suddenly nominated, I want to say that I will decline the nomination.

I preferred for others to be nominated instead. I have zero experiences with that.
 
I must unfortunately decline my nomination as I am currently ineligible to run, having only regained citizenship 5 days ago.

I'm not counting that as a declaration of candidacy. If you are declaring candidacy, simply say "I declare my candidacy". If anyone else disagrees with this decision, you may petition the Election Commission at-large per Section 6 Clause 1 of the Rules of the Election Commission.

I would like to thank @Gorundu for their nomination, and @Chipoli , @Cloud , and @Namwenia for joining in such nomination. However, I must decline. I'd like to focus on my role as Court Examiner and Bar Commissioner for the time being. In the future, maybe. The law in this region holds a special part in my heart. But for now, I shall examine it and study it.

I talked to Ghost about it, and we decided that self-nomination does not constitute declaration of candidacy. We've seen others say "I nominate myself", but this is followed by "I accept my nomination." The OP has been updated.

The self-nomination was fine. They're on the nominations list. But, it wasn't a declaration of candidacy.

Thank you to @Hulldom @Gorundu and @Caius for the nomination. Since @St George is running and this is a by-election for a single seat, I will decline my nomination. I concurrently also nominate St George for the post.
