What are some notable quotes by leaders or other characters from your nation(s)?
I like this question, but I wonder what the community has to say about a specific type of quote: What are some notable INSPIRATIONAL quotes by leaders or other characters from your nation(s)? Something people remember; whether from a speech or unscripted; whatever the case.

So this happened, and truth be told @North Timistania makes a good point. Let's see what other crazy hidden hijincks the world's most powerful people get up to!

What is/are your leader's/leaders' guilty pleasure(s)?

Sabhrain enjoys Horse-Breaking, It gives her a sense of control and power that she enjoys far more than she will ever freely admit.

Hugo Von Hagen likes to indulge in pancakes on his days off

Anegrette likes foreign fashion magazines, just don't tell her clan

Emperor Rajesh has many things he likes to do in his spare time, but his favorite thing is eating. He enjoys practically anything, and is known amongst his family members for eating hefty meals comprised of dishes from around the world, a diet he supports with an extensive and strict workout regimen. He is a fan of dairy and seafood, in particular. By nation, the cuisines he most enjoys are those of the Empire itself, Predice, Iraelia, and Prydanian and Vallish fresh lobster, whether plain or artisanally prepared.

Mark Hellstrand is an irrepressible horndog of Berlusconian proportions.

Grace has grown slightly too accustomed to products and clothes personally tailored to her. Dresses, shoes, jewelry, and a custom made car. She's had two personal tailors since she was a child. She knows she should have matured past trivial things like clothes and gems and other sparkly things, especially once she was crowned Queen, but can't help herself, especially for celebrations and ballroom dances.

The exact opposite of the anti-girly counterculture.

To be fair to her, though, she has gotten better at dressing more humbly in the last few months.

Keeping this to just characters who are alive and in play, otherwise this would overlap with a previous question...

"To all free Prydanians, and friendly nations who receive this broadcast. I, William Aubyn, dully elected member of the Alþingi of the Prydanian Realm, pledge myself to the Front of National Unity. We stand united to declare our intention to resist and rebel against the criminal Syndicalist regime that has seized power in our nation.

We believe in democracy and the consent of the governed, not the dictatorship of the Syndicalist Party.

We believe in an organic society, not one of endless class struggle and bloodshed.

We believe that the Syndicalist regime has wilfully and malignantly usurped the rights of all free Prydanians by illegally dissolving the Realm's Alþingi.

We believe the Syndicalist regime has engaged in political repression by murdering, in cold blood, members of the Alþingi, members of the Royal family, and all else who stand in the way of their ideological goals.

We believe in the restoration of the Gömulríki* of the Realm, including the re-establishment of a fully representative and democratically elected Alþingi under the Loðbrók crown. To this end we recognize Prince Tobias Scylfing Loðbrók as the heir to the Prydanian Throne and rightful King of Prydania.

We, the Front of National Unity, declare our intentions to fight and oppose the Syndicalist regime and their forces by any and all means at our disposal, to refuse any Syndicalist law contrary to the rights of free peoples, to bring about the destruction of this illegal Syndicalist regime, and to make forever free the people of Prydania.

For the King, to Valhalla."

-William Aubyn, Leader of the Front of National Unity, 4 September 2002, following the execution of most of the Prydanian Royal family by the Syndicalists

"Revolution, war, these kill. They cause death, suffering, destruction. Why do we do it, then? Why are we as a species destined to descend into this vicious cycle? The Syndicalists will say that their revolution was necessary to safeguard progress. And that their dictatorship safeguards the revolution. That seems rather high and mighty for Thomas Nielsen and his thugs to claim. That the people killed during his coup were killed to safeguard progress. That the people killed afterwards, and those still being tortured and killed today for the mere crime of objecting to his government, suffer for the sake of progress. No. This isn't progress.

Thomas Nielsen didn't establish a dictatorship to safeguard a revolution. He made a revolution to establish a dictatorship! His goal has always been his own power, and those who die by his actions are mere statics in his mind. Revolution kills, but killing is celebrated by the Syndicalist Party if it means Thomas Nielsen can sit pretty in Beaconsviði, dictator of all of us. Our blood fuelling his lust for power.

Why do I fight? Why do my followers fight? We acknowledge that war kills, and brings destruction. We don't engage in it lightly. We engage in it to resist, because we have to. Because if we don't then we surrender all of our country, and our hopes for a brighter future, to tyrants like Thomas Nielsen. A man who despises every instinct towards freedom the common man has, yet acts in the name of the common man. A dictatorship without equal. We fight to resist that. We'll win. Today, tomorrow, ten years from now, we will win. We will win because we don't shed blood lightly. We've remained human.
May God preserve Prydania."

-Prince Tobias Loðbrók, 1 January 2014, New Year's Address

"To the soldiers, airmen, and sailors of the FNU armed forces and our allies from across the seas.
Fifteen years ago the tyranny of Syndicalism embedded itself in the heart of the Prydanian Realm. Today, after a great crusade of many years, we find ourselves on the outskirts of our beloved capital, on the verge of regaining our freedom and our country. Already General Krummedike's Fifth Army has engaged the Syndicalist enemy in the outskirts of Keris to the west. There will be no salvation for the criminals who now occupy Beaconsviði, who have refused the prospect for peace and who now force us to see the war to its logical end.

We will all embark upon one last fight for the future of our country, against an enemy that grew from within and nearly destroyed us. The tide had turned, however. From the heart of Austurland to Alaterva, to Hadden and Krummedike, our forces, along with our closest friends and kin from afar, have thrown the Syndicalist tyranny back and liberated many of our realm from Syndicalist oppression.

We have a rendezvous with destiny. Not all people are called for such a fate, but fate rarely calls upon us at a time of our choosing. It is our duty now, to fight one final time for the Prydanian Realm and the country we all believe in. We will fight in the streets of Beaconsviði until the very end to put the criminal regime of Thomas Nielsen in the ground and ensure the victory of civilization over the forces of oppression. Your task will not be an easy one, but in the name of Prydania, our future King, and our soon to be won freedom, in the name of God Almighty, I ask you all. Won't you come with me and take this city?"

-Field Marshal Stig Eiderwig-Loðbrók, Thane of Eiderwig and Military Commander of the Front of National Unity, 20 May 2017, on the eve of the Battle of Beaconsviði, at the end of the Prydanian Civil War.

"I'm asking you to end the blockade of the United Kingdom of Thederic Nors. Remove the spectre of imperialism and war your armada has cast over northern Craviter. Pull them back to your protectorate of Korova and give both the Norsian and Prydanian peoples the chance at peace they have longed for, for decades.

In the name of peace and decency, end the blockade so that all nations of Craviter, including the Stan Yera, can work towards building a better future for all of our children. Return home."

-King Tobias III Loðbrók of Prydania, 28 November 2018, addressing High Warden Sfan Kâ K'ter of the Stan Yera during the Stan Yera's blockade of Norsia

*Gömulríki= Old Realm or Ancien Régime

King Tobias III, Prydania
Architecture would probably be the one interest he has that seems out there. He was never educated in it, never had any real exposure to it as a hobby or career. Perhaps it started with his childhood fascination with Spilvel building blocks? Regardless, Tobias has an interest in the field and has done what he can to teach himself the field. He's got an entire journal full of sketches.

Prime Minister Magnus Brandt, Prydania
Magnus Brandt collects model trains. He maintained a small one during the Civil War and has begun to grow it again since the return of peace.

Prime Minister Taneli Gadi, Iraelia
Taneli Gadi's favourite sorts of movies are horror movies. And just not horror movies. Bad horror movies. Cheesy slashers? Jump scare ghost flicks? It's all gravy.

Elder Kesegowaase
He tends to be a very lazy person and does not tend to go on many walks. His guilty pleasure is sitting down in his tree hut and watch the sunset from a opening over the cliff that his city is build by.

Elder Nokomis
Nokomis is a very energetic Elder, even though she is not the oldest in her village she was appointed the title after leading her town through a famine. She loves to invent new things, much to the dismay of her village as many of her creations tend to be over complicated. She once made blueprints for a walking box that would be able to travel from tree to tree and climb up them. This was quickly denied because it was to complicated t create.

Elder Ar-Ke-Kee-Tah
Arke(Ar-Ke-Kee-Tah's nickname) is the oldest, but not the wisest elder out of the group. He likes to pull pranks and jokes on his fellow elders, several buildings have become victims to his pranks after he booby trapped them full of either water buckets or trips wires. No one knows how he sets all these traps up within one single night without alerting the occupants. He likes to hang out with Sugmuk.

Elder Matunaaga
Matunaaga loves to hunt, even at his old age he is extremely fit and exercises on a daily basis. Every month he gathers a large hunting group and disappears into the forest for a week and always return with loads of game. Either captured for breeding or killed for food.

Elder Whakan
Whakan is the second oldest out of the elders, he loves the read. Simple as that, he reads a book a day.

Elder Makkapitew
This elder is the most normal of the group. He is also the kindest and always walks around his city taking note of everything that needs to be done. He then does what is needed to keep his citizens happy and content.

Elder Sugmuk
Put as simple as can be, he loves to blow stuff up. How he got to be an elder is unknown. He loves to gather Tak and is an expert in everything Tak. He is the inventor of the Tak musket and was part of the patrol that discovered the Tak. He likes to hang out with Arke.

Elder Namid
Elder Namid is the one person that keeps all the elders in check. She is very strict and stops Arke and Sugmuk from trapping stuff and blowing stuff up. Her guilty pleasure is watching her great grand-children play around.

King Renadt II
Renadt loves pro wrestling, in stark contrast with his usual image as a calm and wise ruler. He hasn't missed a VSPR show in 14 years, and even made several appearances in the promotion as the masked wrestler "The Captain" before becoming king in 1997. He secretly wishes to bring The Captain back after he passes the throne to his daughter.

Prince-Elect/Lord Commander Azaras (VII)
Azaras has something of an obsession with video gaming, particularly PC games and flight simulators. Her favourite setup is a full cockpit simulator she can rearrange to emulate over 30 different aircraft in a dozen different videogames and sims, while she pushed the computer powering it to hold a popular Sastennic benchmark's record for highest overclock for four days, though it eventually self-destructed and had to be rebuilt.

She also picked up building model ships, ranging from basic Spilvel and Kaiz-Blok sets, to rare, exquisite, and extremely expensive scale models from around the world; she estimates to have spent over half a million Ezrets on her collection. Her pride as a Royal Guard pilot will never allow her to admit this to anyone, least of all her father.

Prime Minister Varsul Kaizunel
PM Varsul has a severe fascination with international post-modernist architecture, a style highly unusual in Sasten. Renadt has had to veto several of his building projects for being "hideous" and "monstrously ugly", a state that Varsul resents on a personal if not professional level.

Leader of the Opposition Armen Varaz
Armen dedicates much of his private time to his five dogs, all of them rescued from shelters around Sasten, in addition to fostering another pair from the local Animals' Society. When he isn't pushing to republicanize the country, he often uses his position to advocate for better livestock treatment regulations and animal rights.

He also keeps an extensive collection of Fascist War memorabilia, locked away far from the reach of his somewhat ignorant pets. He can't ackowledge most of it for fear of coming off as a fascist or royalist sympathizer.

President Roman has made it his personal duty to collect every unique pen he finds, by whatever means. Every time he enters a new office building he makes sure to keep his eyes out for unique pens. At current he has 363 unique pens, 216 of them he purchased from different shops over the year at a total cost of $739. The rest of the pens he acquired from unsuspecting participants in his pen collection scheme. This has gotten President Roman in a few arguments and close calls. In 2007, a stranger on the metro almost caught him acquiring this pen from his back pocket, however, due to years of practice in slight of hand techniques, the stranger couldn't prove that the President took the pen. Later, in 2013, his wife came upon his hidden pen drawer and almost threw it away, she asked him why he had so many pens and he could only but tell her that "It's part of my duty."

Princess Dawn has quite the fondness for cheesecake. So much so, in fact, that her intake has to be regulated because her associates are concerned about her health.

She also likes to participate in pulling pranks around the castle. Whoopee Cushions are her favorite.

King Leonidas I, as part of his coronation speech: "A strong and lasting government may be achieved by ensuring the happiness and well-being of the common citizen, and effectively addressing their concerns."

Here's one: What is your favorite quote from your nation's current leader?

It can be from a head of state or government; it can be a newly made up quote or one already written, from an existing RP or existing worldbuilding.

"I say now to the President of Dučrijeka, to the cowardly politicians that hide behinds words in Brzevoda...! Dučrijeka will not go unpunished. No one will save you this time, not even Gojannesstad can bail you out! ...Justice or death are your only two options. Andrenne will not back down again!"

- Lukas Kjellner II of House Kjellse-Tages, otherwise known as "Lukasij Jägaarjiskij" or "Lukas the Hunter", January 7th, 2020, during his Royal Address on the Slotta Dräkon Attack

Trivia: His statement of Gojannesstad "bailing" out Dučrijeka was a reference to the First Dučrijeka War in which Goyanes forced Andrenne to withdraw from the nation and allow their independence.

Commisar Ygor Szubrov: You know how to drive this thing, Private? (referring to the armoured vehicle he is currently driving at 140km/h through the brush on the steppe)

Private: No, Commisar. I do not, Commisar. May I inquire as to why you ask?

CYS: Because I'm coming down from a 3 day coke bender and I'm passing ou....
(he slumps over the wheel, veering towards the river, terrified screams ensue from the private and the rest of the crew)

CYS: AHAAA! Got you! I'm not coming down!
(popping back up and steering away from the river just before entering)

Private: I knew you were joking, Commisar! You...you're not actually coming down, right?

CYS: Of course not, Private!
(Awkward silence fills the vehicle)
I'm still very, very high.
(Said incredibly nonchalant as he accelerates up to 160)

Here's an interesting one: Describe a book which is important to your nation's history in some way. What is it about, who wrote it, and how is it important? The book can be well-known or more obscure nowadays; up to you. You can also describe multiple if you want.

The Book of Tribes is the single most important Shaddaist text in Astragon after the Mikra. It concerns the history of Queen Dinah and her Descendents ranging from the initial conquest and integration of the south into the kingdom of Menhe Hailasse all the way to Kayyvan(Kashem) and his eventual unification of the lands into Astragon.

The Citizen's Guide, authored by Zashay Arata of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in 1990. The book is similar to Mao's Little Red Book in regards to its contents, mostly talking about the duty of citizens to eternally serve the revolution under Svrtan. If a citizen asks any government official, even say a registries agent or MP, they must be given a copy of the book. This has prompted many citizens to send their family members individually to ask for enough for a family of 5 every so often so that its pages can be used as fuel in heaters, or as fire starter.

One Hundred and Fifty Two Ways to Talk With Birds by Vetle Roys. It is a work of fiction that deals with a young man coming of age and coming to terms with his poor family life. It covers the choices one makes in a society and how those choices are sometimes already made for that person. It promotes one's chosen family over blood relatives. It was not so well received upon it's publication in 1967, but has since been hailed as socially relevant work for the youth.

"Reflect on all we lost, but to know that in death they will know peace. And isn't that what it's about? That in sadness and loss there is hope. For every loved one we lost, for every painful memory, we know. There is hope. There is always hope. It's the gift we receive through the Messiah, and that we see in each other. We are all recounting a sorrow tonight. Each one of us. Look to each other. You're all recounting pain, and a hope for the future. Let your pain be your neighbour's, and let their hope be yours. That's how we find hope. When we help each other be better because of it. That's why we, in our little forested corner of the top of the world, come together on the longest night of the year to pray."
-King Tobias III Loðbrók, 21/12/2019

Tommy Lind was a Prydanian author who lived from 1910-1987. His most well-known work, Þar sem Sverðið Liggur, is considered one of the great Prydanian novels. It was written from 1940-41 during the Fascist War. It tells the story of two Prydanian knights from the early 12th century Syrixian Crusade, and uses the historical event as a means to obscure Lind's criticism of the fascist Social Commonwealth government, Dominion, and the war effort. It was heavily suppressed during the war, but saw widespread publication after the liberalizing reforms of the post-War era.

What is your favorite quote from your nation's current leader?

"My People! this lamentable conflict has exacted a heavy price from us all. How many homes have endured the keening that follows the loss of loved ones? how many sons and daughters of the soil have been interred within it?. A wave of patriotic sacrifice brought me victory and put me upon this throne and I promise you all that I shall work every day to ensure that such heroism is rewarded! A new world awaits! A red sun rises to illuminate the Hailakaid nation! Follow me my people and together even the stars themselves shall part at our approach!"

The Haradren Chronicles are a series of books in which the history of the Haradren people prior to the appearance of the Ulstome kingdom. In it is a collection of thousands upon thousands of historical records including poems, artwork and written music amongst other sources as to give an insight into what life was like and the history of the land and its various tribes and their rulers. It also provides the largest source of the written form of Old Haradrenish. It is not known where or when the first chronicle was written, nor do we know who wrote it although it is known that it was constantly added to with additional historical accounts as new events took place and so is the work of numerous individuals.

The most well known Hightonian globally is Alexís Gentschenfelde, commonly known as simply Alexís, the soccer player for Highton City FC. He made his name as the youngest player on Highton's 2003 World Cup-winning squad and since then has emerged as arguably the greatest all-time, scoring in two more finals as Highton won the World Cups again in 2011 and 2017. He has also won the Goldener Ball a record 6 times and the World Cup golden boot twice.

The prince of Highton, Diego II, holds very little actual political power but he is still very well known. His frequent visits to other countries have made him quite synonymous with Highton as the prince is a symbol of the nation.

"Jag Ha Møtte de Fiende og Han Er Oss." by Tajeis Fossum, a veteran of the Fascist War. Translated into Mercanti, the title is "We Have Met the Enemy and He Is Us," which is a quote from Tajeis' fire squad commander after taking three Cogorian officers and being ordered to execute them. The story is not an autobiography, but instead the fictional story of a young rifleman who volunteers for service near the beginning of the war, and becomes jaded as he and his compatriots commit crimes against humanity to other soldiers and civilians alike. The rifleman survives for the duration of the war, until the Battle of Kalgary, where his company is surrounded, and he is captured. The rifleman starves during a death march towards PoW camps behind Cogorian lines, and is buried in an unmarked grave.

This story mimics the lives of millions of other Kanadian soldiers during the Fascist Wars. They realize have more in common with the Cogorian rifleman than they do with their generals, they doubt their cause, they fall into insanity, and most likely, they end up dead. Most Kanadians end up reading this book during their education, and the knowledge of the horrid things the Kanadians did during the war keeps any idea of Fascism from becoming popular again.

From Pessoa, their most well-known exports are in music - several multiverse musical stars, like Isobella Bachelor, Lorenzo, etc all hail from Talvezout.

Which person from your nation is most well known outside your nations (like a celebrity, leader, athlete, singer)?
This is difficult, because it depends on other people's nations and I am hesitant to say anything that would force something on someone else's media they didn't intend. With that being said...

King Tobias III
-He was a child at the start of the Prydanian Civil War, which lasted fifteen years. Over that time he grew to become something of a figurehead for the Royalist movement and became a folk hero in parts of Prydania as a symbol of anti-Syndicalist resistance. I don't think I'm going too far out on a limb to assume he would have been at least relatively well-known during the years 2002-2017 before his coronation.

Thomas Nielsen
-The leader of Syndicalist Prydania, who I imagine would have become synonymous with a number of the regime's human rights abuses.

Jannik Lieftur
-The right hand man of Nielsen, officially the Syndicalist governmnet's Minister of Internal Affairs. I imagine he'd be at least somewhat (in)famous for the same reason as Nielsen.

William Aubyn
-Political leader of the Royalist resistance. I get "Yeltsin on a tank" vibes from him at the end of the Civil War, so like Tobias? I don't think I'm being unreasonable to expect most people outside of Prydania to have at least heard of him.

Gunnar Stahl
-Defenceman for the Prydanian national hockey team, and the team's captain. Probably the most famous Prydanian hockey player? If I had to guess?

Peter Bach
-Captain of the Prydanian national soccer team. Known for his loud clothing style and very energetic and passionate interviews.

A question from @Highton this time: Which person from your nation is most well known outside your nations (like a celebrity, leader, athlete, singer)?
Kasugan Prince Vong Phoumsayang II is by far one of the most recognizable personalities from the nation, as the young, 38-year old prince has already made a name for himself on the world stage after ascending to the throne in 2013 upon the death of his father, Prince Vong Phoumsayang I. His face is everywhere within the nation, being a very popular figure, while those abroad tend to associate him as a symbol of Kasu.

However, most children and young adults across Eras now tend to recognize the various music groups that have come out of Kasu in recent years more than Prince Phoumsayang II.

A question from @Highton this time: Which person from your nation is most well known outside your nations (like a celebrity, leader, athlete, singer)?

The most well-known living Saperi is Giorgio Galeotti, who founded luxury fashion company Galeotti S.p.A. in his home city of Priore in 1971. Galeotti is now 81 years old and still designs for the company himself on occassion, though he has passed control of the company down to his daughter Alessandra.

Empress Alycia I
Before the commencement of her rule in 2017 she looked like any other Norsian Fascist monarch in waiting. Instead she came roaring into power via a very bloody coup that saw two thousand people die within a day, and many more thousands arrested over the following days. Despite the overwhelming appearances that she was just another Norsian Fascist, she broke and dismantled a century old Fascist regime in just a few bloody days. Rolled out rapid reforms, implemented liberties and freedoms, held elections and is now the leader of a free and quickly growing Norsos. CEA is her brainchild and she makes Norsos very active in Craviter politics and demands a strong aid presence in the weaker nations of the continent.

Empress Elli
Mother of Alycia, she won the second Norsian civil war against the Syndicalists and continued her fascist regime. eventually Ereion would declare war on Norsos and she would later annex Norsos' long lost territories. her primary clings to fame would be as the last dictator of Era's longest surviving Fascist Regime 1905-2017, and her sheer psychopathic brutality.

Alexandros Ramaille
Anyone who is into Norsian theater or big into Norsian culture has heard of this man at least once. and Norsian classical stations love to play his songs. Alexandros is a patron of the arts, donating large sums of his wealth to revive struggling theaters and studios. He himself is a method actor and singer, and is a playwright of royal renown. He uses his skills obtained over the course of his theatrical career to gain an edge over his opponents, failing that he wields immense power. When he isn't busy being the headmaster of the Norsitic Aftokratorian Order and Lord Speaker of the Parliament, he is being a Norsian cultural legend.
