Breaking: Empress Grace Announces Second Pregnancy

Another royal baby is on the way.

The Empress and Emperor announced joyfully to the public this morning, at their home in Bergum, and reported to be due for late April or May.

News across the nation was halted for a moment after the announcement, and it has so far been well received across Kanada, as well as Maloria. Home Parliament was delighted to say a few words of congratulations, from Prime Minister Johannsen, "And I hope to speak for all of Parliament when I hope for Her Majesty's health and comfort in the coming months."

More to come as news continues.

Parliament Continues Deadlock

11478092-3x2-700x467.jpg

Minus the comments on the Empress's pregnancy, Parliament accomplished little else today, continuing arguments on the Prime Minister's legitimacy. Some worried voices from the Liberale Parti questioned if a snap election would be voted in by the Kanadian Parliament or the unified Parliament of Malor-Kanada, considering the constitution does not state which Parliament it would be. This is asked due to the Conservative, Malorian majority in the unified Parliament.

Considering Her Majesty's current position, the question has instead been brought to the Central Court, already busy with the case against Johannsen. Their response is expected some time in the next week.

Reichspolizei SEK operators on the next day after the attack
Yesterday, four people were killed, fifteen injured, in a shooting outside a restaurant in Neu Aslkstadt. The shooters were indentified as fromer BRA members. A rouge BRA splinter group claimed responsibility.

At 19:00 three males opened up on random pedestrians on Ralf Eisenberg street. People in the nearby restautant began barricading themselfs. Two suspects tried to break in unsuccessfully while the third kept shooting. Local Staatsmiliz guardsmen arrived on scene and started a prolonged firefight with the gunmen. Thankfully a SEK unit arrived minutes after the fight began and killed two shooters. The last one was eventually killed after a 5 minute long case.

Today the Minister of Security Gerwald Uhlmann said that: "This event may shake up the Neuhafen Agreement, but if rouge militants provocate, we will respond until they stop". The Reichspolizei reports show that a women from Midir was also injured and is currently being treated.

His Majesty the King Reitz X sent his thoughts and prayers to the families whom member injured or died and denouced the terror group. By the order of His Majesty the King, Congress will hold a week long session with the king to discuss and resolve the situation.

END OF AN ERA

President Alex Calabrese announced today that he will not run for re-election. This followed a statement commending the success of the Hightonian military in nearly wiping out the Pavlov Society, a communist Kardonyszlavic terror organization that has had increased activity in Highton in recent months. "This speech is somewhat difficult for me to give," he said, before stating that it "has been the height of my career to hold and am honored that I have been given this opportunity for the last four and a half years." Then, he formally announced that he will not be running for a third term next August. As he concluded the speech, he looked into the camera and nodded his head, as if to say thank you– he still had 10 months left in his term, though, and they will surely be busy.

Calabrese took office in January of 2016 when President Felix Colombo was forced to resign due to health concerns. He won his election by a narrow margin later that year, and has continued to serve ever since. The absence of the incumbent Calabrese leaves the race for KRP leadership wide open, as nobody had yet announced their campaigns before the President's announcement.

Referendums called in both Nyhett and Seggsnet in two weeks asking to unify both Kingdoms
Johan Nyberg -- 10/19/2019

NADERFJORD, NY--The Nyhettan Landesdag approved a bill that would call for a binding referendum to seek to unify with neighboring constituent Seggsnet. The Seggsneter Landesdag also approved a similar bill. The referendum would be held November 1st, in conjunction with the general elections happening at the Constituent and Municipal levels.

The two constitute kingdoms already share numerous public agencies/organization and metropolitan areas such as Gojannesstad's completely ignore the intra-national border. Examples of shared agencies include HANS (Gojannesstad-Jægerstrom Port Authority), the Greater Gojannesstad Water and Sewer, the Gojannesstad Transportation Office, and the Southwest Nyhett-Seggsnet GNP Section.

In terms of economic impact, Jægerstrom is most likely to take a hit. The city has been absorbed into Gojannesstad at this point, and the unification would most likely just cause more residents to move closer to Gojannesstad. However, industry in coastal Seggsnet should thrive with eased tax codes and increased access to customers.

Integrating the legal system should not be much of a hassle, as both constituents have laws that were co-developed due to the greater GS area's cross-border nature. It is expected that any straggle-hangers would be worked out by committee if the resolution passes.
Executing the result of the referendum would be simple. Unification is as simple as Grand Emperor Anthony decreeing so, as by nature, the Constituent Kingdoms are all his individual domains in law.

But for now, we wait until the first. For more updates, keep reading Naderfjord's #1 News Source, the N.D.!

Statement from the Department of Defense in Mondari
In response to the growing military presences and tensions across Eras, the Department of Defense in Mondari is investing into expanding the arsenal of intercontinental ballistic missiles fitted with nuclear warheads and smaller, tactical nuclear weapons to be fitted on long range bombers and fighter jets. In addition, the Department of Defense will be investing in ground based missile defense systems, both static and mobile systems. The Mondic Navy will also be pulling its ships back to the coasts of Kian and the shores of Mondari. The Department of Defense wants the military to focus on defending Mondari’s shores and its closest allies. While this may be occurring, the Navy will still maintain the capacity to help allies if they are under threat, but the military will not be actively patrolling outside of Kian anymore. Mondari’s international activities will focus mostly on economic and political actions rather than military action.

The old anchorman sat there in front of the cameras with the colored pattern of his show’s name in the background in red and white on large rectangular screens. A deep sigh was exhaled by the older man as his years of long service to Maloria Today were finally coming back to bite him and he now near the end of his life pondered the idea of retirement. He downed another sip of morning coffee doused with a little bit of Nordic malt scotch (he wasn’t an alcoholic, he could stop when he wanted to of course) from Sebalt as the cameraman counted down on his fingers for the camera to go live.

“Hello I’m Roman Moskalenko and this is the Moskalenko Angle. We have some very interesting news today as Chairman of the United Fatherland Party, Yaroslav vin Huldenberg announced in a press conference with prominent Kanadian Conservative Party officials in Kalgary that the United Fatherland Party and the Conservative Party will be doing a merger. The name selected for this new party chosen by the leadership will be the United Conservative Fatherland Party…creative I know.

What does this mean for the empire as a whole? Well this new party will now immediately control a majority in the Malor-Kanadian Parliament instead of relying on a coalition of the UFP and the Conservatives. The Chancellor will hold a press briefing later today on the subject.

In other news, the Keizer today right after the press conference of Chairman vin Huldenberg announced the Malor-Kanadians Government will be sending dozens of economic advisors to Norsia to aid restructure the government and its economic policies. The group of advisors will be led by the 90 year old Lyubomyr Mykhalchuk, Dean of University of Rhenen’s Economics and Philosophy Department and Professor of those subjects at the school. Dr. Mykhalchuk throughout the history of Maloria has been the driving force of Social Feudalism in the country. Advocating for Social Feudalism since its inception from the Kingdom of Esplandia and during the rule of Helmer to advising Keizer Alexander and the Imperial Governments after on policies appropriate to it.

Dr. Mykhalchuk himself with his staff will be staying in the Norsian Royal Palace so that he can enjoy a closer relationship with Alycia. The rest of the advisors will be staying in the Norsian Capital’s Royal District. We will have more to talk about after this break.”

Statement from the Mondic Department of Defense
The Mondic Army will be fielding more self-propelled artillery, multiple-launch rocket systems, and other defensive systems to focus on protecting Mondari's land and sea borders. These procurements will help bolster Mondari from any possible foreign invasions. Mondari is also looking to its close Kianese allies to develop joint force brigades to help better defend each other from foreign aggressors.

Statement from the Mondic government
In an effort to improve the infrastructure of the National Recycling System (NRS), $15 billion will be invested over the next three years to increase the carrying capacity of the system. On top of this, Mondari is opening up its ports to the importation of recyclable materials from foreign nations under the program known as the Foreign Environmental Recycling Importation System (FERIS); these goods include plastics, metals, glass, paper, cardboard, rubber, and electronic products. The importation of these goods is done in an effort to remove reusable goods from landfills in foreign nations and to use them to make new products. We hope that nations use FERIS to remove recyclable waste from landfills and ship them to Mondari.

Queen Esmeralda Continues Purge of Landisgrad Representatives
October 31, 2019

HALSEN an vi SUNDRA—Esmeralda’s full ascension to the throne following her husband’s death has been followed over the last few weeks with a systematic removal of representatives that supported Reinhald’s aggression against Lotheland and Lothel-Dutia. Using her supreme prerogative, now uncontested as the sole monarch, she has drummed up numerous charges including incompetence, corruption, and abuse of office.

Each charge has been viewed by the Upper Court and each charge has been found to contain sufficient evidence of wrongdoing that the charges were upheld. As of today, 32 of the 270 elected representatives of the Volkthaen Court have been dismissed pending formal hearing and trial. Special elections will be held beginning December 1st. It is likely that more charges will be brought forward and more representatives dismissed throughout this month.

In further news, Duke Haedrik auf Balverhaem of Galgotland, was dismissed from the Aldurgrad Court after making derogatory remarks about the Queen’s actions. Though no charges have been brought against him, he is barred from entering the Landesgrad chambers and performing his ceremonial duties over his duchy.

Despite her harsh measures to bring justice to those who died during the short lived conflict, Esmeralda still maintains strong support among the nobility and her tenure as sole monarch has met with increased approval from the average Hastenfrakten.

Kalgary University Protests Halt SP-N Underground Route, Counterprotests

170203122152-02-romania-corruption-protest-0131-super-169.jpg

Kalgarian protesters have been increasing in number every day, despite the early snow.

Protests led by university students have been occurring across downtown Kalgary for three days straight, demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Johannsen. The sheer number of the young protesters, joined by many students from secondary school and some adults, have forced their way into the subway system, completely halting the Skarp Parliament to Nordve train from operating completely.

Police have been containing the majority of protesters west of Parliament, and inside Ny Park. They have reported two arrests of "Highly Aggressive Individuals". Kalgary Police Commissioner Hans Lukki has stated that "Police will continue these operations for as long as they are required to", and that we should not expect leniency from the police when the safety of Kanadian people and businesses are at stake.

Anti-Johannsen Protesters found themselves head to head with Pro-Monarch counterprotesters, which miraculously led to no violence or injury for the short time that police were not present.

Empress Grace released a statement following calls for her to have Johannsen removed. She said she had long been "considering her options", but mostly closed down discussion about the topic after stating that she would wait for the Central Courts' ruling on Johannsen's tax case before making a choice.

Valkarian news | Cultists empowered by government inaction
By Vanessa Mendoza, The Ljusstad Post
Friday, 1 November 2019

Ljusstad (The Ljusstad Post) — Ever since Jake Marshall, an alleged cultist leader, was elected to Parliament as a member of The New Right, his influence and the party he is a member of have caused the government to shut down the Office of Cultist Movement Investigations (OCMI), which was the National Police office responsible for investigating alleged cultist groups in Valkara. In the Silesian province of Valkara, groups of people describing themselves as "Valrissi fundamentalists" have been a source of attention from the news media due to reports of kidnapping, torture, and murder. However, Marshall contends that the news media have "distorted and exaggerated" the people of the province who are "exercising their freedom of religion".

However, the situation described by the news media seems to paint a more accurate picture, especially in "The wildlands of Valkara", an investigative news article that The Ljusstad Post published in May 2019, in which the paper's reporters found members of alleged cultist groups possessing illegal firearms and accounts from residents in the Silesian province. Marshall, who had been campaigning for a seat in Parliament at the time, was the subject of a National Police investigation that had been closed as soon as he had been sworn into office. The closure of the investigation sparked small protests in Ljusstad, accusing the government of "covering up" his alleged crimes. With the closure of the OCMI and the investigation into Marshall, residents in Silesia have warned The Ljusstad Post that the situation has worsened.

One resident who has refused to be named due to fear of retaliation has told The Ljusstad Post that cultist groups in the province are threatening non-Valrissi people with violence if they do not convert, "They claim that this land belongs to those who believe in the Valrissi gods and non-adherents are those who belong in Náströnd." For those who are unfamiliar with the Valrissi religion, Náströnd is the part of Hel where Níðhöggr chews on the dead. However, believers of the Valrissi Orthodoxy have also been threatened by the fundamentalists. Valrissi priest David Irisson said that he was confronted by fundamentalists who accused him of "giving aid to the non-believers". Irisson believes that Valkarians should not be forced to convert to the Valrissi religion if they do not want to.

In a few days, the investigation into the disappearance of Police Sergeant Rebecca Hawkins and Junior Officer Craig Lance enter into its second year, who have been missing since 5 November 2018. The two police officers were dispatched to arrest a suspected member of a cultist group before they were reported missing by their colleagues. Friends and acquaintances of the two officers fear that they may be dead, but the National Police still have not concluded their investigation and consider them to be "missing persons". The National Chief of Police, Eric Weston, has said that the National Police has worked "vigorously" to find them, but have "reached a dead end".

In Ljusstad, the United Religions Organisation (URO) has accused the government of "colluding" with cultist groups in the Silesian province. The current bloc in government, the New Conservative Coalition, has the backing of The New Right, a political party that the URO has often accused of "pandering and harbouring" cultists in Silesia. The New Right leader Nicole Chancellor, who serves as the Home Secretary and whose portfolio includes the National Police, has countered the claims of the URO by defending Valrissi fundamentalists, "These people are exercising their freedom of religion and I will not persecute the Valrissi for doing so." The Home Secretary went further to accuse the URO of being an "anti-Valrissi group". The URO's spokesperson, Daniel Fitz, who is an adherent of Messianism, said that the current Valkarian government is "eroding" freedom of religion in the country.

Fifteen Injured in Police-Protester Clashes

3c36ae0e1db5ad03490f6a70670005dd.jpg

Kalgary Riot Police dragging away "Unruly and Dangerous Protesters".

KALGARY - Fifteen protesters have been reported as injured and taken into custody when minor fighting broke out between Kalgarian riot police and Anti-Johannsen protesters. After police claims that protesters had attempted to use petrol bombs on police formations, groups of riot police supported by armoured vehicles and uniformed officers clenched down on the protesters in downtown Kalgary. Kalgary Police Commissioner Hans Lukki has reported "Well over 75 arrests" of troublesome protesters.

Counterprotesters in support of Johannsen and "The Crown" have come out with intent to fight the Anti-Johannsen protesters, although their numbers have been reportedly insignificant, and police have managed to keep them mostly seperated.

Parliament sessions in the next week have been cancelled due to the protests, and many await for the Central Court's ruling on Johannsen, which is due to be released in the coming days.

Police ignored questions about the possibility of the army being brought into Kalgary.

Similar but smaller Anti-Johannsen protests have also begun in Wehrspat and Solvang.

Monarchist Referendum Gathers Strength

JaaZLxT.jpg

Monarchists in the countries north want Popular Philanthropist Hugo Von Hagen to be the nations new king.

Today in Franktorf a crowd of several hundred gathered outside the Bundestag to celebrate the official approval by parliament for the requested monarchy referendum to begin. The referendum will decide whether the nation will remain a republic or become a constitutional monarchy.

'We are tired of our national narrative being defined by Gottia's sins! this referendum offers Hessunland a chance to show the world we are not just some post-fascist rump state!' one commentator said when asked

'Mr Hugo is a good choice for king, he is a kind and progressive man who can really represent a new nation' another member of the crowd stated

Hessunland, a successor to the former state Gottia, has been an independent nation since 1984 when it and Frisia were created following the fall of the Himdach regime. The country has struggled since then to form a new identity and rebuild its economy which was heavily devastated during the Gotmark war, many see the referendum as a chance to build a new narrative.

Hugo Von Hagen is considered by many to be one of the most beloved individuals in Hessunland, a man of aristocratic origins (his Grandfather was the Duke of Gränze prior to the fascist takeover) he was arrested and held in the infamous Franktorf Jail as a political prisoner during Gaucheis Himdach's reign where he suffered torture both for being homosexual and an active supporter of the return of democracy. Following the war, he used his immense wealth to set up charities and invest in post-war reconstruction, Hagen International being of Hessunlands largest corporations.

Von Hagens support of progressive social causes and his well regarded political writings 'Commentaries for a better state' have caused many to see him as a source of national pride, however, several regions in the countries south have been more reluctant to support him due to his openly homosexual lifestyle and publicly stated intentions to marry his partner Leto Roth.

The Referendum has been gathering steam for the past two years and is likely to begin within the next few days, it is sure to be one of the defining moments for the young nation.

Raemond Montaghaem, Duke of Drastolwuold, Former Royal Chancellor, Dies at 82.
November 4, 2019

KADAEFVEN—Raemond IV Edwin Gyeortsen auf Montaghaem, important figure in the Aernish Rebellions of the 80s, and second longest serving Royal Chancellor in Esplandian history, died on Saturday at his home in Drastulwuold. He was 82.

According to a statement from his son, Duke Montaghaem died at 4:28 pm. He had suffered from a malignant brain tumor, called a glioblastoma, for which he had been treated periodically with radiation and chemotherapy since its discovery in 2017.

Despite his grave condition, he remained close in the King’s council and made a dramatic appearance in the Witangamot to show his support of Sherwin’s ascension to Raektdev. He was given a standing ovation by the whole chamber as he entered, his weakened condition obvious.

A descendent of the legendary Raemond I Montaghaem and Alistaer Montaghaem, Raemond IV carried his renowned name into the arena of politics during the reigns of Katharin II and Sherwin V. With a level head, a bright tenacity, and a well spoken demeanor, Raemond help the office of Royal Chancellor for 41 years, two years shy of being the longest serving Chancellor in history.

After being diagnosed with cancer, he stepped down from the office to spend his final years with his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter. His experience was greatly missed over the last two years and the growing political tension in Alstenbek, though he continued to take the King’s calls and give his advice whenever needed.

“He was always a keen adviser, a loyal ally, and a good friend,” said King Sherwin at a press conference this morning. “His passing is deeply sorrowful for Esplandia, but his legacy will never be forgotten.”

There will be a state funeral for the Duke in Karthied, and his bones shall be entombed within the Rathberg crypts among the remains of the Royal Family, a rare honor for the Duke though well earned.

Prime Minister Johannsen Resigns Before Central Court Ruling

387102_16_9_large_38.jpg

Kristian Johannsen declared his resignation from the office of Prime Minister of the Parliament of Kanada this afternoon. In a final speech to Parliament, he claimed he was becoming too embroiled in accusations to properly conduct his work within already working against him. This shocked members of parliaments and the public alike, as it was done before any legal action was taken by the Central Court. This was also done with no public suggestion by the Keizerin for him to step down.

This sudden change left the Parliament without a leader, and second-in-command of the Majority, Lars Haaroldsen, was quick to pick up the distabilized pieces of parliament, along with help from Ulburg, Leader of the Minority. Very quickly after the resignation, Keizerin Grace called for a snap election within the Kanadian parliament to take place to decide the temporary Prime Minister until the next election in 2022.

Before the end of the session, both Ulburg and Haaroldsen nominated themselves as candidates for Prime Minister. The date of the election and the period of time in which the candidates have to prepare is yet to be decided.

The Central Court ruling on whether Johannsen's tax returns should be demanded has been delayed until tomorrow.

Fighting Continues Despite Dwindling Number of Protesters

riotpolice.jpg

As the sun sets over Kalgary, many protesters go home, considering their job done, as Johannsen's resignation was declared from Parliament. Yet for many others, they stayed out in the cold, starting fights with counterprotesters. Police have continued shrinking the area where protesters can operate.

Kalgary Police Commissioner Hans Lukki stated, "Our primary objective has moved from containing the protests to making sure the protesting groups don't hurt each other. Business as usual should return to normal in downtown Kalgary by tomorrow evening."

A total of 168 arrests have been reported by the Police related to protests.

Grand Admiral Murza Declared Imperial Regent: Denounces Prime Marshal Sabhrain Na Kevsha as a traitor

ViVIFuW.jpg

Loyal Citizens

Today Grand Admiral Talesh Na Murza was officially acclaimed as the Regent of the Exalted Empire by the command of the Imperial Council. Regent Na Murza was quick to announce he would be stripping Prime Marshal Sabhrain Na Kevsha of her rank and declaring her an enemy of the state.

This follows revelations from an Internal Security investigation that has discovered the erstwhile prime marshal is the head of a vast conspiracy that was responsible for the deaths of Vizier of Estates, Izrah Na Rishah and the Late Emperor Kaskaran III.

In a speech delivered to the state council the regent had this to say:

'People of Astragon

We face an insidious threat from an official we most trusted, Sabhrain Na kevsha is hereby dishonourably stripped of her rank, titles and noble status, we will bring her to justice for her crimes and end the danger she poses

Put your trust in me, loyal citizens, my forces even now have begun to establish order in our capital, look to them for your safety.

A hard road lies ahead but I promise we will crush the traitors in our midst and usher in a new age for Astragon!'

SregeLw.jpg

The Ministry of Internal Security is appealing to any citizens who may know the whereabouts of the traitor Na Kevsha to report them immediately to their nearest police or internal security office.

Kali Mushevfa Announces Annual Ilyaerovian Dinner

by Telya Mendoza, Correspondent for the House of the PM

In his time as Prime Minister, Kali Mushevfa KHP has taken Kaschovia onto the international stage in a variety of ways. For many decades, Kaschovia has been recovering from domestic conflicts, international conflicts, and civil tension. The Prime Minister, with this announcement, aims to relieve some of that pressure by, in his words, "inviting the greatest leaders Eras has to offer, to a day filled with meetings, planning, ambition, and hopefulness," so that Kaschovia may "advance its standing with many nations, and build successful alliances all over the world."

This is the beginning of a much longer series of interpolitical developments Mushevfa hopes will extend the international Kaschovian influence far beyond our little island, a helm for culture and history all over the world.

Mushevfa hopes as many world leaders as can attend will be able to make it on the 9th, and is offering Kaschovia's finest escorts, should representatives need it.

Tension In Kunvuor On The Rise

by Joseph Noenir, Senior Political Analyst

For years, tensions in Kunvuor have been brewing. The decision of Kali Mushevfa to boost general military assistance in resisting the Mahalja Group in many districts of the state have led to riots, protests, and one massive political chasm between Mahalja loyalists and the Kunvuor unionists.

Statesministers have called for a meeting on the 8th of November to address the rising tensions, but if we know anything about Ilyaerovian history, its that our dynasties are foes by blood, but bound by peaceful common interest. It takes one cut for that blood to run, so in anger and war it shall. It may seem there is only one dangerous direction such tension will lead, but Mushevfa has an important decision to make on the 8th, which could change the course of Kunvuor's history, for better or for worse.

It seems the best option for Mushevfa is to speak with Mahalja Group leaders on the matter, but many unionists fear that would legitimise their movement against the Kunvuor State.

More to come as developments arise.

Climate Protests In Hael-havakis Ground To A Halt Over Terrorism Fears

by Rose Whiting, Climate Reporter

An organized climate change protest of about 13,000 people was cut short this Saturday due to fears over domestic terrorism. It is believed that a threat was posted to social media site Tweeter early Saturday morning, claiming to "target several protest locations" and "strike down dirty Hael-havakans in the streets." The post was traced to a remote server farm in the Veschka-honul mountains, through which it was most likely redirected.

Many Hael-havakans even went out to protest knowing the threat existed, but local law enforcement quickly dispersed them for their own safety.

Joint Norsian-Prydanian Space Agency Launches First Manned Flight

AO32Am6.png

The Stjarná 1 atop the MMJ-7 Rocket at launch
Astissa- The joint Norsian-Prydanian Space Agency launched its first manned mission, sending Cosmonauts Gregers Hedegaard of Prydania and Marius Girault of Norsia into orbit aboard the Stjarná 1 spacecraft. The Stjarná 1 craft was launched into orbit by a MMJ-7 rocket from the Henebuck Rocketry Centre in Norsia. Hedehaard and Girault are the first of their respective nationalities to enter space, and their journey represents the culmination of the jointly-run Norsian-Prydanian Space Agency's goal to put Cosmonauts into space.

WxpzZSv.png

The Stjarná 1 spacecraft in orbit around Eras
The Norsian-Prydanian Space Agency was established by both governments shortly after the formation of the Bergum Pact. The NPSA is officially unaffiliated with the Bergum Pact, though Malorian funding and rocketry research was used to jump-start it. Pilots from both the Royal Prydanian and Imperial Norsian Air Forces were selected to serve as Cosmonaut candidates. The goal was to place a two-man team in orbit by mid-2020. The successful launch of Stjarná 1 after almost a calendar year of training indicates that the NPSA is ahead of schedule.

Hedegaard and Girault will perform a series of space walks while in orbit, as well as testing the Stjarná spacecraft's docking mechanisms.
The mission is scheduled to last ten days before they return to Eras.

PROJECT: REVIVING BASEBALL IN THE OCLUSI BELT

Q046rUH.png

Pictured: Oclusi Belt kids get ready for South Regional Qualifier
(Lymborazchi, Oclusi Belt) - The Oclusi Belt has not faired so well in the past five years. Tough breaks from many economical crashes in the area as well as the former Oclusi President, Yermolayevich's, laws against Courantists have affected many families and some families lost parents, kids, or homes and winded a lot in the Oclusi Belt on the streets. Kids that remained in the Oclusi Belt became street kids. Fighting, hunting, and gathering. However, a group of missionaries from Northern Oclusia brought baseballs, gloves, bats, and helmets over to the southern portion. They started with basic rules. It was small. Only the city of Bangui was playing. However, what started small boomed into the first Little League in the Oclusi Belt. From that Little League, a young man emerged and found his way on the Oclusia National Team. Now, kids from all over the Oclusi Belt are playing baseball. We spoke to Head of Baseball Operations, Bob Gibson, about this.

OcBC.com: With baseball booming over the Oclusi Belt, how are you feeling about this?
I feel that the momentum it is growing here is amazing. Honestly, I've never seen anything so well-loved by kids.

OcBC.com: With the growing rate of kids playing baseball here, would you qualify the mission here as an undoubted success?
Not yet. I feel that we have gained momentum, but until we can pull the best group of kids from all over the Oclusi Belt and play some international ball, we won't have this under undoubted success.

OcBC.com: What will be the first step in reaching this goal?
If we can get any country to challenge these kids with a ballgame, it will test them. Other plans include getting the best group of kids to the Oclusi Youth Baseball World Series.

Monarchist Referendum Begins

48884991_303.jpg

Today marked the official beginning of voting in the monarchist referendum. The countries western cities were first to begin the process of voting and while this is still underway early data from Hessenburg and Naesserhafen suggest strong support for the proposed monarchy.

Voting in the countries east will open shortly with citizens in Nederhoff and Franktorf going to the polls. Early reports suggest that the referendum is attracting high voter turnout. Hessunland Bundespolizei has praised the public for conducting the momentous vote with few disturbances to the peace.

Voting is expected to run for the next few days.

Empress and King Congratulate Cosmonauts
Astissa/Beaconsviði- Empress Alycia I of Norsia and King Tobias III of Prydania issued a joint statement celebrating the successful launch of Cosmonauts Gregers Hedegaard and Marius Girault aboard the Stjarná 1.

The Stjarná 1 spacecraft in orbit around Eras
The monarchs praised the Norsian-Prydanian Space Agency's efforts, and thanked Malorian and SRFD funding and technological assistance.
"Craviter was bunt to the ground" the statement reads, "but through our collective efforts we have proven that Prydanians and Norsians will not surrender, even after this much hardship. Even as we struggle to pick ourselves up, we have proven we can reach the stars. This is a victory for Craviter, not just Norsia and Prydania. It is a victory for the human spirit and what we can all achieve with a dream of bettering ourselves. Both Prydania and Norsia remain committed to this endeavour. It is not enough to dream of picking ourselves up. We must be brave enough to dream of some day being able to run."

Prydania's Prime Minister Magnus Brandt held back tears as he announced the government's continued support of the joint program with Norsia.
"I have served my country as a politician, as a resistance fighter, and as Prime Minister. I have risked so much for Prydania personally, as has everyone in our nation. And through all of that, to witness the successful launch of the Stjarná 1 was my proudest moment as a Prydanian. To know that we, along with our Norsian brothers and sisters who know the same hardships, could do this, brings me joy as a man of my country."

Marius Girault of Norsia took the first spacewalk of the mission while Gregers Hedegaard tested its instruments and gathered atmospheric data. The next nine days will witness more spacewalks and comprehensive tests of the Stjarná vehicle's docking mechanisms.

Directorate to be Dissolved on Friday, Elections to be held on the 31st of January
By: Phillipe Dupuy
November 7, 2019

942

The Assembly of the General Court in the wake of the motion to dissolve Government

After a series of events in Callisean politics, culminating in a dramatic "crossing of the house" by Senator Aubert and other senators aligned with the Sovereigntist List, Director of State Leopold Dupont has moved for the dissolution of Government. Dupont, who has been unable to pass legislation after losing the confidence of the National Sovereigntists, hopes that the new election will restore a majority Government, one without the influence of Senator Aubert's faction.

While in an uneasy alliance since the 2015 election, Aubert and Dupont have constantly been in conflict. Aubert consistently pushed for Callise to withdraw from various international treaties, while Dupont has been trying to expand Callise's involvement in the international stage. This ultimately led to a schism between the two, when Dupont acceded to the Astissa Accords. Aubert, who was furious, incited members of his party to disrupt the ruling coalition. This led to the Sovereigntist Director of Customs mobilizing the National Guard and shutting down the border with Highton. This move was quickly undone by the Director of State, but the damage was done.

Ever since the border incident, the Sovereigntists have consistently voted with the Opposition in the Senate. This has led to all legislation passed by the Assembly being pronounced dead on arrival in the Senate. This state of legislative limbo has been the status quo for several months, grinding the legislative process to a screeching halt and almost leading to a compulsory Government shut down.

By Late October, Dupont was at a crossroads. He could either concede to the Sovereigntists and meet their demands or he could dig in. In a widely covered media event, Dupont met with Aubert and representatives of the Sovereigntist cause. Yet in spite of concessions made by the Liberal Government, Aubert would not agree to bring an end to his legislative strike until Callise withdrew from the Economic Association of Craviter. After this ultimatum was issued, talks broke down.

The motion is expected to pass before Sunday. Once it passes, Government functions will be devolved to the Civil Service and local provinces until the December elections can be held. We will continue to cover this story as it unfolds.

Good news: Pheonisland's electricity bill is down slightly in 2020

WGzI8AE.jpg

PNN - Pheonisland News Network - The company responsible for regulating electricity and gas bills in Pheonisland (Creg) announced on Thursday that the electricity bill will be reduced by a few cents in our country in the coming years due to a simple decline in transport rates by 2.1%.

Energy regulator Creg has approved Elia's electrical transmission rates for 2020-2023, resulting in a 2.1% reduction in average tariffs in 2020, she said.

If the impact on consumers is negligible, Creg spokesman Aulus Crispinus believes that the decline in network rates is good news. “At a time of high taxes and fees, the consumer knows that transport network rates are stable,” he said.

Statement from the Mondic Department of Defense
In a stunning show of technological prowess and military flexibility, we have successfully tested three separate nuclear weapons. The GB-85 nuclear bomb, the SLNB-15, and the LBNB-96 this monday in the ocean off the southeastern coast of Mondari, 500km away from shore. We are hoping that this proof of functionality of the nuclear capabilities of Mondari will deter foreign adversaries from attempting military aggression or fear-mongering towards Mondari and her allies on the Kianese continent and beyond.

Crown and Government Agree to Open Books to Foreign Aid Sources

AO32Am6.png

The Stjarná 1 atop the MMJ-7 Rocket at launch
Beaconsviði- His Majesty Tobias III and Prime Minister Magnus Brandt both agreed to open the government's books to all nations providing foreign aid to Prydania. Concerns were raised by foreign agents who have provided aid in the wake of the Civil War over the escalation of the joint Norsia-Prydania Space Agency to manned space flight. The government would not disclose which foreign agents had raised concerns but re-iterated that all foreign funding going towards the NPSA has come from states who have specifically earmarked the funds for that agency.

"Both His Majesty and myself are willing to open the financial ledgers to any foreign government, alliance, or international organization that has provided monetary aid to our Kingdom since the end of the Civil War. We are aware of concerns regarding the distribution of these funds in light of the successful Stjarná 1 launch, and we want our allies to understand that they do not have to fear the misappropriation of funds" Prime Minister Brandt said in a statement.

"Both His Majesty and the government are committed to seeing the NPSA through to its fullest potential, whatever that may be. Both Norisa and Prydania are at work in a dedicated partnership of nations working towards making the NPSA a success. No foreign aid outside of those agreements, however, has gone to the NPSA. We have acted in both the best interests of those providing monetary aid and to our people who that aid has been earmarked for. Our books are open for any of our allies who have concerns."

Absalonhöll would not comment on who His Majesty had spoken to on the subject beyond the Prime Minister, but reiterated that he is committed to ensuring foreign agents have peace of mind regarding the use of monetary aid.

Cosmonauts Address Prydania and Norsia from Orbit

NEzOw1K.png

Cosmonauts Gregers Hedegaard and Marius Girault onboard the Stjarná 1
Henebuck- It's been one week since the launch of Stjarná 1 and Cosmonauts Gregers Hedegaard and Marius Girault addressed the nations of Prydania and Norsia.

Mr. Girault wanted to address people back home, stressing the pride of he and Mr. Hedegaard's achievement.
"I'm speaking to Norsia and Prydania from the stars. We've all been through so much, but where we are proves we can always strive to do better."

Mr. Hedegaard was more jovial, but shared his fellow Cosmonaut's sentiment about achievement and mentioned the scientific advantages of space flight to children.

"Hey kids, talking to you from above Eras. When you look up at night and wonder if you'll ever fly, remember two people from you and your neighbouring country proved you can! We're doing a lot to work that's going to help us understand our universe, so if you work hard you too can join us in the stars!"

Mr. Girault also spoke on the world's response to the NPSA's maiden manned flight.
"I think" he chuckled, "that maybe some people are a bit perturbed by old Norsia and Prydania doing something special. It's always a shock when people who don't think you can do something are proven wrong, eh?"

Mr. Hedegaard was seen chuckling in the background.

The two Cosmonauts have three more days left in orbit before they're scheduled to return to Eras.

Archegnum King Nathanael II Passes Away At 86
Natalie Betrand
Nov. 12th, 2019

A spokesperson representing King Nathanael II of Archegnum announced that he had passed away in his sleep last night at the age of 86.
Odd-Couple-star-Jack-Klugman-dead-at-90.jpg

The respected King failed to recover from a heart attack suffered September 28th and his death comes just 3 weeks before what would have been his 87th birthday and after leading the nation for more than 40 years, taking the throne from his father Nathanael I in 1977 at age 44.

He will lie in state at in the capital of Lorem and a funeral service will be held November 20th.

Lancerian Queen-Empress Amelia held a press conference today, delivering a sorrowful speech to our close southern allies stating that she was "honoured to call Nathanael a friend. A kind and charitable man, [she] had learned a great deal about the good example a monarch can set, for their people, for their children, for their nation's future."

With no named heir, the throne will remain empty until the Archegnum parliament decides how they want to proceed. Pro-Federationists are already discussing the potential of appointing Queen-Empress Amelia to the post as part of their outline to join the Lancerian Empire. Archegnum law states that parliament may appoint a new monarch as they see fit in the event of no heir, though there is no precedent for appointing a foreign national or foreign monarch to the role.

The staff at RTN pass on our sincere condolences to our close friends in Archegnum. May Nathanael II rest in peace.

OCLUSI PRESIDENT YULIY KILLED IN ALLEGED POISONING

Opinion by Jacques Gustave and Marcella Lindela

Updated 6:52 PM NMTZ, Tues November 12, 2019

DyWqAke.png

Editor's Note: Jacques Gustave is a Political Science Director at the University of Astratov's School of Politics in Oclusia. While in government, he served in multiple roles, including senior director for counterterrorism on the Tyzkavicz Administration's National Security Council from 1997 to 2001. Marcella Lindela is a graduate student at the Minsk School of Politics and Economics. The views expressed are those of the author and do not reflect the official policy or position of any entity of importance.

(Minsk, Oclusia) - President Yuliy has passed away in his quarters in the Presidential House only a month after he took power. Immediately after his death, a strong and well-planned investigation was conducted inside of the Presidential House and immediately, a piece of paper was found. Written on it was a note that count be inferred as a premeditation to this murder. The handwriting was analyzed and matched with Yuliy's wife. The note was a strong piece of evidence that Mrs. Yuliy was involved in the death of the Oclusi President in more ways that one.

Dear my Love,

Soon, I will be with you. I just need to make sure that I can put a direct amount of substance in my husband's tea. Soon, I will come over and will make a wonderful evening with you. Just know that I love you dearly. My husband is bland and you are a big step-up. I love you with all my heart and as soon as my husband is gone, I will run away to the border with you.

- Halina Yuliy

Through the note and the evidence uncovered by detectives, it has been determined that Mrs. Yuliy poisoned the tea made for her husband, and left shortly thereafter. Through many different recordings inside of the Presidential House, it is shown that the President's last moments were when he was clutching his stomach in pain and calling out and pleading for help to nobody in his quarters before he passed on.

Fluttr blew up with Oclusi calling for justice as well as reporting the news.

Breaking News: Astragonese Regent's Oil Accounts Leaked!

BjpMxMy.jpg

By Paul Roussef

Nations across Eras reacted in shock and disgust as files implicating Astragonese regent Admiral Talesh Na Murza in corruption, murder and bribery were shared across the web via an anonymous source. Evidence points to the regent plotting in co-operation with Internal Minister Hushen Na Tamba and Oil minister Kirah Nyesha to seize control of the imperial government.

Journalists are calling it one of the biggest financial leaks of the century and may prove to be the catalyst for Murza's overthrow. Political commentators are calling the 'Tyrooz Brief' damning and point to countless instances of police and military corruption being funded by offshore oil accounts.

Several Powers have already condemned the Admirals government as illegitimate and promised to support Murza's rival Sabhrain Na Kevsha. Our political analyst Bob Parker had this to say:

'Paul this revelation is political poison for Murza's regime, any claims to legitimacy have been torpedoed as reports of obstructing investigations and purchasing civil servants to maintain power have been made public. The Syrixian Empire and the State of Iraelia have already proclaimed their support for Sabhrain Na Kevsha and it is likely that other nations will either give the Murza regime wide berth or outright condemn them in the wake of the Tyrooz Brief.

More importantly it gives Sabhrain, a military leader, the casus belli to move south and engage the regent actively, one thing is clear, the Regent's credibility is in tatters'

News of troop mobilizations in Astragon's north has put the capital city into a state of martial law, we will have more on the situation as it develops.

BREAKING
November 13, 2019

Record-breaking rises in the information technology sector is indicating the introduction of a technological revolution in the Equestrian Commonwealth. With the rapid proliferation of modern technology throughout the nation (which was previously behind on tech), the government has announced plans to grab the bull by the horns and push forward with a nationwide wave of modernization.

This is coming just weeks after the coronation of Princess Dawn and the appointment of her council. Many cite this as the primary cause for the techno-revolution, as Princess Dawn is much younger than her predecessors.

The royal family have stated their full intention to embrace this change, as it continues to bring STEM job opportunities and revenue for the nation's economy.

This burst in modernization is expected to last until the end of the Princess' first term, at the very least.

Franktorf Votes Monarchist!

The countries north has voted overwhelmingly in favour of establishing a constitutional monarchy following several days of polling. With the countries less developed south being last to vote it seems highly likely that the referendum will pass. Head of the Federal Centrist Party and current President, Agatha Linz, has called the referendum 'a triumph of peaceful democracy' and went on to say that the countries decision represented a new chapter for Hessunland.

NEW MILITARY PACT, THE LUNCSTADT HOUSE TREATY, SIGNED BY HAOR CHALL AND PREDICE

78081e87-a3b7-40df-9bc9-e824fd69b706_screenshot.jpg

General Harkin, Charrian Chief of Defence Staff, addresses reporters at the Octagon

Xi Char & Nuevo Antofagosta – Announced today at a joint press conference, the nations of Haor Chall and Predice have agreed an expansive new military treaty which includes the creation of a Joint Brigade. The precise details of how this joint military unit will work have not been provided, but the treaty delivers a broad framework for joint efforts to improve military effectiveness and interoperability. At the press conference Haor Chall’s most senior military officer, General William Harkin and Predicean General Mario Mendez also announced the commencement of the first joint exercise which is being held in Predice.

The details of what the exercise will cover have not been released, but photos published by the Haor Chall Ministry of Defence show “Crusader” tanks from the 2nd Kuat Yeomanry being loaded onto HCAF C-200 transport aircraft and at least one parachute infantry regiment being deployed. The initial exercise looks to be primarily between both armies, with future joint air and sea exercises apparently being considered.

Whilst both militaries are talking up the benefits of this new joint relationship, particularly in the context of supporting broader Meterran security concerns and supporting META, there has been little talk of some of the challenges ahead. The public focus has been on technology, and how the two nations can co-operate on future equipment programmes to improve interoperability – there is already good examples of this in services, as Predice already uses mainly Charrian communications equipment, for example but there also other challenges the joint unit will face. Whilst Mercanti is a secondary language spoken by almost everyone in Haor Chall, most Prediceans are not as fluent in the common international language and there are also many cultural differences between the two nations. Nevertheless this is clearly an excellent opportunity for both nations to bridge these cultural differences and build stronger relationships that span Meterra. See our detailed report on page 7 and 8.

HAOR CHALL NAVY SHIPS BEGIN GOODWILL TOUR OF EAST METERRA

Mannheim - In another example of the more outwardly looking foreign policy focus of Haor Chall, the Haor Chall Navy has announced that two ships, the destroyer HCNS Resolute and the frigate HCNS Battleaxe, will be conducting a diplomatic goodwill tour along the eastern coast of Meterra. The ships will be visiting nations from Plembobria to Saintonge, stopping in a number of ports to host formal receptions and visits, before sailing back to Haor Chall later next month. Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Thawne, said that this deployment was “an excellent example of the important defence engagement role of the HCN and demonstrated the importance Haor Chall placed on positive relations and cooperation with her Meterran neighbours.”

CBC AXES POPULAR “THE GREAT CHARRIAN BUILD OFF” PROGRAMME

The Charrian Broadcasting Company has announced today that the “Great Charrian Build Off” programme – where teams of amateurs took part in a mechanical construction competition, with a series of challenges to design and construct working machines – has been cancelled. Despite the wide popularity of Build Off, it is one of the most watched shows in Haor Chall, the public broadcaster has come under pressure recently to cut back on light entertainment programmes and explained this, along with some contractual issues, was the reason for its cancellation. Although the latest series was criticised for its simplified tasks and the introduction of celebrity teams, the final – which includes a public vote – was the most watched single episode of the year. There has been a large backlash against the decision on social media, raising the possibility that the series could find a home on a different network.

Menial Riots Violently Suppressed in Astragons Capital

images

In yet another development in the troubled Iterian nation of Astragon, prefect corp officers loyal to the Regent Talesh Na Murza have been sighted brutally suppressing riots in Bayyah Na Tyrooz's Old City. Batons, Tear gas and lethal force have all been reportedly been used with an unknown number of fatalities.

The Regent is currently fighting an internal conflict against the internationally recognized heir to the throne, Sabhrain Na Kevsha, and the riot is believed to have resulted from heavy-handed attempts to press local menial populations into militia service.

The capital remains under virtual martial law and the majority of information has been acquired via insider sources, we will attempt to keep you up to date on any new developments.

Health Minister: "Health Service Desparately underfunded"

VÕNNU, RI
- Ugria's Health Service has long been relatively well regarded, but as per a recent inquiry on the Health Service's performance, it was found that that the Ugrian National Health Service was seriously underperforming, especially in the rural areas of Nurmekund. The Health Minister Veigo Palm has since released a statement: "I am extremely disappointed in this result, but this was not a surprise to me. The Health Service is desparately underfunded. Our doctors are overworked, and our hospitals in many areas are crumbling. This system cannot continue on the budget it has."
The National Health Service's funding has been cut for 8 consecutive budgets, according to the Treasury. It has been estimated that some 3,347 people have died due to the UHS being underfunded, mostly in Nurmekund.
This announcement was met by protests on the streets, which were mostly peaceful, but some areas, especially in Nurmekund have reported violence. Protesters are largely decrying the Government's lack of action.

LETTER OF CONGRATULATIONS TO THE NORSIAN-PRYDANIAN SPACE AGENCY

The Empire wishes to express its heartfelt congratulations to the Norsian-Prydanian Space Agency on the successful launch of the Stjarná 1 rocket. We are proud and honored to be the first to welcome Norsia and Prydania to the brotherhood of nations who have sought and succeeded in a pursuit of the heavens.

We further congratulate Gregers Hedegaard and Marius Girault for being the first of their peoples to reach the stars. The future does not belong to the fainthearted; it belongs to the brave, and their actions unequivocally put them in that category as they did what no Prydanian or Norsian had done before.

We are confident that Prydania and Norsia's journey into space is only just beginning. It is a journey we will watch with great interest; for it is one that demonstrates the strength of the human spirit. Two nations which, less than a half a decade ago, were embroiled in civil war and endless hardship, have continued to persevere against all odds, and today, they touched the face of God.

Stjarná 1 Returns
Henebuck- Cosmonauts Gregers Hedegaard of Prydania and Marius Girault of Norsia landed safely in western Norsia earlier today, completing a ten-day orbital mission, the first manned mission of the Norsian-Prydanian Space Agency. The two men, the first of their respective nations to go to space, became heroes in Norsia and Prydania following their successful launch.

"Cosmonauts Hedegaard and Girault are in good spirits and appear to have a clean bill of health" Head of the Cosmonaut Program Jannie Kirk stated.
"We're still assessing their vitals but it appears as if their mission was a complete success."

Mr. Girault performed the NPSA's first space walk, becoming the first Norsian to walk in space. He and Mr. Hedegaard tested the modular Stjarná craft's docking and locking mechanisms and conducted scientific surveys of Eras' upper atmosphere. Ceremonies for both men are planned in both Astissa and Beaconsviði.

Ms. Kirk would not confirm the date of the next planned manned flight but indicated that more were indeed in the works.

The Stjarná 1's control pannel
His Majesty Tobias III made a statement in support of the Cosmonauts.
"They've done wonderful things for our nation. And we're proud that we, with the help from friends and allies, could put them where they could make history."

His Majesty also addressed the recent congratulations from the Syrxian Empire.
"As King of Prydania it honours me to accept the Syrixian Empire's message of congratulations. Norsia and Prydania did this for ourselves, yes, but also for all of mankind. To prove what we are all capable of. To my friend His Majesty Emperor Rajesh III, I say thank you. May we all continue to push the boundaries of exploration together, to the benefit of mankind."
