Flag: Star Of The Final Frontier.
History:

Adapted in 1952 after establishment of Republic Of Krevt's Constitution.
Since Ancient and Medieval ages, the Krevti kings and even scientists of those times dreamt to establish a great reputation of Krevt either by discovering new remedies of widespread diseases or build new innovative vehicles for medieval armies.
The Star depicted the Hard work to make Krevt great.

It is since then and now respected as a great symbol of unity and innovation

The current flag of Predice dates to 1872, when the first post independence monarch of Predice, Humbert II decreed that the nation needed a new flag, Thus after a 6 month competition this was chosen.

The green stands for the nation's beautiful nature, and her history, the white stands for the nation's air, and her bright future, the blue stands for the nation's waters and her cleanliness, and the red stands for the blood spilt for the independent Predice, and the courage of her men in battle. The Golden Eagle has been a symbol of Predice since the 1300s, along with the white battle-ready eagle. The Golden Eagle is the more diplomacy minded of the 2.

The Blue Cross
g9vqeqJ.png
The national flag of Goyanes, affectionately known as The Blue Cross or Old Fearful, is one of the oldest flags in continuous use on Eras. The flag was used as early as the 870s to represent the new Messianist monarchy of Goyanes under Grand Emperor St. Ingolfr the Great. The colors of blue and white are traditional of Goyanes and Nyhett, and the cross represents Messianism. The overlaid nature of the cross represents the first and second coming of Christ.

The Lozengy
9w8pOR6.png
The Lozengy is a direct translation of the Goyanean coat of arms into flag form. The flag is officially used as the naval jack of Goyanes, but some fly it as a symbol of patriotism second to the national flag at sporting events and the like.

The Imperial Standard
kQu2OeZ.png
The Imperial Standard has its origins in the 1650s as the symbol of the Goyanean monarchy during the more than 100 years of dual Goaynean-Andrennian monarchy in the UKAG (United Kingdoms of Andrenne and Goyanes). The flag is flown at properties that the Grand Emperor is presently residing in. When the GE is not present at a location, the Blue Cross is flown.

The UKAG Standard
JHyrtbL.png
The UKAG Standard is a cross between the Andrennian Saltire and the Blue cross of Goyanes. The flag is still occasionally seen a sporting events, and is sometimes seen around Eras in places where the UKAG governed. In nations such as Prydania, the flag has been used a symbol of the monarchist movement during the civil war.

The Grand Army Flag
LR3akFC.png
The Grand Army Flag is the official standard of the Goyanean Army, and is simply the Blue Cross flag with the coat of arms placed in the canton of the flag. The current design has been in use since the 2nd Nordic-Imperial War.

The Swallowtail Ensign
01Kh1KB.png
The Swallowtail Ensign is the version of the Goyanean flag used on marine vessels. The flag has three separate cuts on the opposite side of the hoist that distinguish it from the regular blue cross flag. The name derives from the tail of the swallow bird, which is split in a similar manner to the flag.

New questions:

New question!

Post your flags, and tell us the history behind them! (Bonus question: what do the colors/symbols on the flag(s) mean?)

EDIT: Also, feel free to post any significant historical flags!

National Flag

The Barbed Cross' evolution is easy enough to track. The Andrennian-Makari Loðbrók clan of pre-Oswald Andrenne venerated Jägdar, god of the hunt. Jägdar himself was represented by a stag, and this was reflected in the banners the Loðbróks made to represent themselves. The original red and white banner of the Loðbrók clan featured two crossed stag antlers on a red field.
This banner was the one carried by Hróarr Loðbrók, exiled King of Heorot, as he led the massive expedition that led to the Nordic settlement of what is now Prydania. Hróarr's new seat of power, Stormurholm, was represented by the old viking banner. The Messianic conversion of the Loðbróks and their followers in the 900s, however, saw the old banner and its pagan sun emblem fade from use. A new, rectangular, banner was adopted that removed the sun.
It was shortly after Messianic conversion that the Loðbróks adopted a proper heraldic emblem. This emblem featured a stag on a field of white and black, and a field of green oak leaves. The stag had a large Messianic cross between its antlers, with smaller crosses in each quarter. It was here that the red banner and the standard of the Loðbróks began to separate, though both would be used concurrently.
The red banner with the crossed stag antlers began to shift into a barbed saltire cross around the late 900s, and was more or less in its final form by the time of Vortgyn Loðbrók.
Vortgyn conquered the native Bayadri, unifying Prydania. The Barbed Cross and the Loðbrók standard continued to be used concurrently, with the Barbed Cross becoming the "national" flag during the 1500s.

Royal Standards

The Royal Standard came about at the same time the heraldic charge of the Loðbrók family was adopted. The stag had been used by the family since its time in Andrenne, having been associated with Jägdar, god of the hunt. The story goes that after Goyanean monks arrived in Loðbrók lands in what is now Prydania to preach Messianism? A huntsman serving the Loðbróks of Stormurholm saw a stag with a cross glowing between its antlers. He took this as a sign of Messianic favour for the Lord of Stormurholm. This began the process of conversion of the Loðbróks and their followers and was reflected in the cross added between the stag's antlers on the family's standard. It became the Royal standard of all of Prydania following Vortgyn Loðbrók's fifteen year crusade and campaign of unification against the Bayardi in 1029.
It remained as such until 1819. Rikard III Loðbrók re-asserted Prydanian sovereignty following the splitting up of the UKAG. This followed a re-awakening of Prydanian nationalism following the successful war against Callise. Rikard III re-designed the Royal standard to reflect this. He adopted the old UKAG Imperial standard pattern of placing the coat of arms of his dynasty against the national cross flag. Both to reflect the earlier sovereignty the UKAG had over Prydania and also to tie the monarchy in with the increased national awareness.
There are rumours, however, that the old standard may return. It's said that the current King, Tobias III Loðbrók, has a fondness for it.

Royal Prydanian Army Flag

The Royal Prydanian Army flag is an off-set cross swallow-tail design. It dates back to just before Prydania entered the UKAG and remained the Royal Prydanian Army's flag under the broader UKAG military apparatus.

TvT58QJ.png

Royal Prydanian Navy Jack

The squared version of the Prydanian Barbed Cross flag as the flag of the Royal Prydanian Navy dates to the 1400s. No explanation for the crossed design is given, though it is speculated that it was chosen to distinguish the Army from the Navy. The Army marched into battle using the rectangular cross flag, and so the Navy would be distinguished by a square variation. It also served to distinguish itself from the ensign, which was the standard rectangular Barbed Cross flag at the time of the Royal Prydanian Navy's formation.

OBV1pcJ.png

Royal Prydanian Navy Ensign

The ensign was, as previously explained, just the standard rectangular Barbed Cross flag. This variation replaced it in 1657 and has been used since, save for the Syndicalist Interregnum of 2002-2017. It was designed during the UKAG era, taking ques from the Goyanean banners that were prevalent in Prydanian harbours. It was flown by Prydanian ships in peacetime, and would raise UKAG imperial flags during times of war. It became the independent Kingdom of Prydania's naval ensign upon the dissolution of the UKAG in 1819.

Royal Prydanian Air Force Flag

This flag was designed upon the Royal Prydanian Air Force's establishment as a separate branch in 1920. It features the square naval jack, bordered in white, against a sky blue background. The original design featured the Air Force's original roundel opposite the squared cross in the canton. When the roundel was redesigned to be a simplified square version of the national flag? The roundel was removed as it was deemed repetitive. The Air Force's flag is mostly used in administrative and ceremonial settings.

Order of the Knights of the Storm Flag

The Order of the Knights of the Storm was established by King Vortgyn II Loðbrók in 1076 in honour his father, King Tobias I Loðbrók. Tobias I was a devout man, and the holy order was established by his son to reflect his values. The Knights of the Storm served as the guardians of the Prydanian monarch until the Syndicalist coup in 2002.
The flag is the standard Prydanian Barbed Cross flag with the cross from the Royal coat of arms in gold imposed upon it.

Who is/are your favorite obscure leader(s) from your nation(s), OOC? IE: Someone who isn't talked about much in our community's worldbuilding conversations.
Stephen Toft. Social Commonwealth Prime Minister of Prydania from 1984-2002.
He was my de facto leader for most of my NS RP going back to 2006. I kept him when we rebooted Taijitu RP to take place in 1984, which fizzled out due to inactivity. When I came to TNP? I wanted to do something different. So I started where I planned to have the Taijitu 1984 RP end, with Prydania finally knowing peace and Tobias getting crowned King.
This proved to be a creatively liberating, but it means my long-time "major player" for RP has been on the back-burner. That said? I still really like Toft's story and what lead to him becoming what he became.

Who is/are your favorite obscure leader(s) from your nation(s), IC? IE: Someone who isn't talked about much these days IC, in Eras.
Marianne Toft, Stephen Toft's daughter. She had lived in exile in Ceretis since 2002, when the Syndicalist coup ended with her father's execution. She returned home to Prydania following the fall of the Syndicalist Republic in 2017 and was recruited into an attempt to re-start her father's fascist political movement. She instead informed the authorities, leading to the nascent fascist rebellion to be crushed. She joined the Free Democratic Party and now serves as a member of Parliament in her father's old constituency in Erkiengill. I have plans for her in the future, but she's kind of flying under the radar for now, or at least as much as you can as a public figure.

I just thought of another question, for any Eras monarchies out there: What are some defining physical and mental/personality characteristics of your ruling families, etched into their heredity?

The Tages family, especially modern generations, have been quite tall. Grand Emperor Anthony is 6'6" and the princesses are some of the taller kids in their school classes. Unfortunately, the Tages family has a tendency to pass down hereditary heart conditions, which struck down Natan III (d. 1999) in the final years of his life. So far, Anthony and the princesses show no signs of the condition.

In terms of personality traits, Anthony tends to worry quite a bit about most things, even the trivial ones. He had many gray hairs as early as high school, and used to use hair products to attempt to conceal it, however he has come to terms with it, and has discontinued his use of black hair dye.

Members of the Tages family also tend to be heavily involved in STEM fields. The last five Grand Emperors have all studied various forms of engineering in university, and various members not in the direct lineage are involved as engineers at companies such as GJ, GTK, and Rynoven-Radisson.

The Mavoia Family is known to go bald quickly, as early as 20 in the case of Humbert III (r. 1896-1908)
The Mavoias are also known to be pretty strong (Giorgio II for example can lift 164 lbs) The Previous Predicean Royal Family (The Petrons) ended with Henry the Bewitched. He died without a heir and at autopsy was found to have Macrocephaly. He also had partial deafness. His death led to the conquest of Predice by Syrixia

What are some defining physical and mental/personality characteristics of your ruling families, etched into their heredity?
Loðbróks tend to have blond(e) or brown hair, strong jawlines, and green eyes.

The family also has a genetic predisposition to lung cancer.

Sevadas tend to have black or brown hair. Pale skin and blue eyes, with violet and brown eyes being a rarity. They stand taller than most in Norsia, men typically averaging 6'0 and the women averaging 5'7. Alycia is 5'5 making her the shortest person out of her entire bloodline, and below the Norsian women average height of 5'7.

The Sevada's dating back as far as the 1600's have had odd predispositions to psychosis and schizophrenia. Those who are spared from this genetic heritage are usually turned into sociopaths in some form by their exposure to the brutality and and hostile environment of the household, and the stresses of Norsian high society grooming. From the 1600's onward, the Sevada's have been known to be cold, calculating and ruthless.

The most brutal Sevada's have all had violet eyes. a Sevada with violet eyes is feared throughout the realm even as a child.

The Sastennic monarchy doesn't typically have much in the way of hereditary traits on its own, since the monarchy and the clans don't rely on bloodlines. Sastennic succession is based on appointment, so while it's often the case that a king appoints one of their children to the job, they could (and do) just as easily appoint a cousin, friend, or even Homeless Joe on the street to be the heir (though that last one is usually a terrible idea), as the only requirements are that the heir must be a Sastennic citizen and they must have done active service in the military. Traditionally they're also supposed to be members of the Kotsunel clan, though this is an informal tradition that will never be written into law, mostly stemming from the clan's on-and-off control of Sasten and Azar dating back thousands of years, and their reputations as soldiers and landowners. While this may seem like a ruling family, it really isn't; the Kotsunel clan is a large group with thousands of members, many with no relation to each other at all besides clan affiliation.

Ask a Kotsunel how the King chooses his/her heir and they'll often tell you it's based on such noble traits as sense of justice, resistance to corruption, wisdom, ability as a warrior, ability to govern, etc. While this is the case more often than one would think plausible given that the King can choose basically whoever they want as their heir (and these traits are clearly desirable for kings), it's also often the case that they aren't chosen specifically for this, or that they don't retain these traits once in office.

All of this said, Sasten isn't totally devoid of bloodline awareness. King Renadt and his family line have been known for being pensive and thoughtful if sometimes slow to react; all had previously been soldiers of impeccable record. Renadt's grandfather died of heart issues, though its unknown if that was transmitted since his father was killed before those issues could materialize. His partner/queen-consort Kurai comes from a relatively obscure Edzana tribe known mainly for its quick-witted and skilled warriors, though they've also produced some noted druids focused on sharpening the mind and body rather than bombastic mysticism. They're mostly recognizable for their unusually-coloured light-blue/cyan eyes, though it's unknown how or when this trait arose. Their daughter and prospective heir Azaras is known to take after both sides of her family, though her relatively private military life has so far left the general public guessing as to how much.

Members of the Imperial House tend to be shorter than average, and are generally not of a stout physical build. Rajesh III, for example, is only 5'6''. He personally is punctual, polite, and, when he is at work, works diligently. However, he also tends to procrastinate and has a hard time concentrating at nighttime.

Overall, members of the Imperial House tend to have a skin color on the lighter end of the Samnadhi skin color range, as well as the trademark Samnadhi black hair and dark brown eyes. Male members of the Imperial House also tend to personally be more reserved and quiet, whilst female members are often very outgoing, energetic, and extroverted. Though they aren't normally grumpy, members of the Imperial House are easily angered and have bad tempers when in angry moods. They also have a genetic disposition for unusually good metabolism, and many historical emperors have consequently been known to eat exorbitantly.

The family also has a penchant for involvement in historical studies and the arts. Rajesh III, for example, was even awarded an Imperial Order of Scholarly Achievement for his groundbreaking archaeological discoveries. His father, Rahul II, wrote four books on colonial-era politics, and his grandfather, Rajesh II, had a particular interest in the study of Yihuddi history and culture.

Unfortunately, the Imperial House also has a genetic disposition for both IBS and SPCD. (Social pragmatic communication disorder; IRL: Asperger's). Both Rahul II and Rajesh III's brother, Prince Rahul, had/have IBS, and Rajesh exhibits slight traits of SPCD.

While the Severyn der Bosch family does not have any official ruling status within Ninhundland, the Ninhundish Government has agreed to give those of direct historical royal descent special rights. Such as protection, exception from most taxes, and freedom to do their own thing as Severyn der Bosch renounced all claims to the throne.

Members of the Severyn der Bosch can have a wide range of hair colours, however dirty blond and light brown are the most common by far. Most have either blue or light hazel eyes. Like with most Ninhundish people, they are tall by Eras averages but are pretty close to average Ninhundish standards. With men standing just over 6’ and women around 5’7”. There are of course outliers like Fredrich Serveryn der Bosch who stands at 6’5” and weighs in at 270lbs.

Lefthandedness is known to run through the family line as the chances of a child being born lefthanded can be anywhere between 18-40%, compared with only 14% of Ninhundish population who are lefthand dominate.

Here's another question I thought of just now: Who are your nation's/nations' top 5 leaders and why?

(Also, to note, incase any of you don't know: you can answer any question at any time! If you've missed one, no problem- include multiple questions in a post, or make multiple posts! As well, you can skip questions if you wish, so don't feel pressured.)

Flags and Jacks

Modern Yeran National Flag
AFexVOz.png

The modern flag of the Stan Yera is attributed to the late Ṇahâm ƛ'ucanâl, a close friend of Sfan K'ter during the days of the civil war. A draft of it was discovered by Sfan in Ṇahâm after his death in the same attack that cost Sfan his leg, and was immediately commissioned and created as the battle standard of Sfan's faction, placing its origin in the late 1970s. The final form of the flag, which inverted the original background of the flag was chosen as the national flag after the end of the Yeran Civil War in 1994. It has remained in place ever since.

Several continuities hold over from previous iterations, most notably the three chosen symbols and their respective colors, though the format has changed. The white sword on the red field represents the sword of the Unifier, a 9th century CE figure in Yeran history who's name is lost to time that first unified the Yeran people under one ruler. The sword being white represents the snow and the dangers of winter on the isles, signifying a dangerous foe, while the red bar represents the land, hearkening to the fact that the Stan Yera derives the first part of its name from an ancient Yeran word meaning "Land of the Red Beaches", as well as the long history of bloodshed and fighting for survival in the Northernmost Land. The white of the shield and the field surrounding the vulture indicates the sky and freedom, while the shield itself represents the willingness to defend the Yeran people as well as the shield of the Unifier. The vulture represents the Bearded Vulture, a bird that holds semi-mythical status in Yeran culture and has been present as a symbol since perhaps even the Aed Kaenë times, and remains a good omen or sign of renewal in modern times. Its black color represents the tumultuous sea that surrounds the islands, and the rich written history of the Yeran.

Flag of the Federation
KToKXfl.png
Originally adopted in the 17th century as a sign of unification and independence from outside powers that were beginning to increasingly arrive on the shores of the Northernmost Isles, the flag of the Yeran Federation is incredibly similar to its successor, though it lacks the sword of many predecessor flags as well as its official successor, signalling a willingness towards cooperation and dipomacy, while the field of the flag is is divided in half by color, rather than a thin red bar on the left side of the flag. Though used as the official flag of the federation up until its collapse in 1945, it never retained much domestic traction as many natives felt it was unnecessary to remind themselves of their independence. Nevertheless, modern dissident movements feature this flag prominently when they do appear in the Stan Yera.

First Flag of the Isles
CA0UnTY.png
Though the above image is a more modern rendition of the historical flag, this banner is said to be that which was flown by the Unifier himself in their unification of the Stan Yera, and was flown from the first ships to voyage to the mainland of Craviter in search of other people. What's notable is the presence of the shield and sword again, though the sword is mirrored to flank the shield, the vertical bar that was said to represent the central mountains of the Stan Yera, and the lack of black in the flag for reasons lost to history. Modern renditions of the flag are a common sight during C'an Buya festivals and many Peace Day celebrations, which mark the end of the Yeran Civil War.

1. Who is/are your favorite obscure leader(s) from your nation(s), OOC? IE: Someone who isn't talked about much in our community's worldbuilding conversations.

Sir Sean Kanad was a general, Feltet Marskalk of the Kanadian Army, and the Second Prime Minister of Kanada. He was a Kalgarian general during the Unification war, and many credit him with keeping Kalgary above water during the early part of the war when they were outnumbered and outgunned. Kanad was the nephew of the Duke, and was given the Third Hærgruppe (Army Group) of roughly 20,000 men, and led it remarkably well, marching and fighting as far south as Maloria. His complete destruction of Western Sundeon during the campaign weakened the nation severely and put it on its last legs with support from the Cogorians. He was the first one through the gates of what was Fort Sundeon during the final battle and was at the treaty signing.

He served as a general in the Kanadian army until he was 38 when he ran for Prime Minister and won by a landslide as the "War Hero". As Prime Minister from 1825-1832, his focus was the modernization and the organization of the armed forces first, followed by the repair of infrastructure across the country. After seven years of serving, he retired and passed away in the Royal Palace some years later at age 53 due to heart complications, surrounded by his wife and two children. In 1873, Fort Sundeon was renamed Fort Sean after him, and he remains the face on the Two Valuta Coin and ten veluta bill.

Here's another question: do your nations use common or civil law? If they use a combination of the two, is there a primary influence?

Goyanes uses a common law tradition that is derived from the ancient judicial duties awarded to the Lawspeakers of Goyanes. In ancient tomes through the medieval times, Lawspeakers cast judgement while simultaneously being the source of legal precedent. As time progressed, the case law system evolved into Goyanes' common law system. In the Renaissance era though, the Lawspeakers left their judicial positions, giving them to Magistrates, who currently occupy that role. Lawspeakers became the speakers in councils, diets, and legislatures in Goyanes, and maintain that role to this day.

After a while, I finally thought of another question! I think you guys will like this one. Who are some prominent new media influencers from your nation(s), what platform do they use, and what type of content do they put out? Bonus question: what are they like as people/in real life?

EDIT:
Just so everything's clear (though I did link the Wikipedia page) - I'm referring generally to any medium of media native to the Internet, whether it be internet-based companies or social media influencers. I was mostly gunning for the influencers side of the definition in my question, as they are people whose characters can be developed.

There isn't really any new media in Mondari, an independent government body heavily regulates news in order to keep it neutral.
The Mondic Broadcasting Company (MBC) is the largest news organization in Mondari (similar to the BBC) and while there are civilian ran internet sites for news, there are no new media companies (Like Infowars) due to civilian news sites being unable to earn money, this was put in place to keep people from using news to make a profit (the "old news" MBC doesnt actually make money and runs a defecit each year).
So, in summation, there is no significant new media in Mondari, however there are small civilian ran VidCast channels, but they are not allowed to use news for profit.

His channel is the most subscribed animation channel in Valland, and is rising rapidly.

Nik Balis

- Username: NikBalis
- Country of origin: Norsia
- Platform(s): Vidcast, Fluttr, Private websites

Nik Balis got his start in Norsia today, an old media news outlet as an anchor, a lot of what he covered revolved around the civil war, its effects and the politics surrounding it. It was also a news outlet steeped in pro-SilverGuard propaganda. In July 2014 he had a meltdown on set and unceremoniously quit on air. He first appeared again in 2017 on vidcast with his old co-anchor, the video was a debate about the goods and bads of the civil war, and what Alycia was doing to rebuild the country. the good and the bad. The video quickly established himself as a strong Alycia and strong reform supporter as well as center-right. the video was his first and it was also a hit. from there he would post more videos, debates why syndicalism is bad, why the overinflated nationalism in Norsia is bad and so on. what Alycia could do to better improve her platform etc. his arguments had merit and he argued them with passion and sugarcoated them in satire. If he couldn't get you to agree he could at least get you to laugh.

He started in vidcast and eventually worked his way into having his own independent satirical news website, he started by hiring a website designer and from there he developed his own staff. He expanded into Fluttr, and then into a second blog website which one of his partners took over. Nik is one of the first and also one of the only new media news sources in Norsia and his clout on social media is not to be ignored, in fact, he is one of the lesser credited reasons why Alycia is so popular in some circles. As one of his attention draws he started to edit his videos to add headers, useful information etc. and started a secondary series entirely composed of satirical animations.

Anyone that knows him in real life, however, knows him to be a severely depressed and broken man. He extends kindness to others but not to himself and visits the war memorial wall in Astissa almost daily. The wall itself has upwards of 5,000 names on it and he actively donates a portion of his proceeds to the Humane Reclamation initiative.

Alsen was born in Wehrspaht, Kalgary, Kanada on February 3rd, 1993. When he turned 18 in 2011, Alsen joined the Kanadian military's 7th Royal Artillery Regiment, serving for a year before joining the reserves. He made his channel 'Vitsherre' in 2013, beginning his channel playing video games. However, he quickly transitioned to more personality and 'meta' content and has more recently begun looking into political content. Alsen is known for his black humour and self deprication, and his diverse content includes the Serie av rør, his general discussion series, or his Verdige Vitser series, with 'meme' related content.

His popularity expanded very quickly, amassing one million subscribers in early 2018, and quintupling that by the beginning of 2019. He is the most popular Vidcaster in Kanada, and is gaining fame across Gotic nations. Alsen has received some backlash from his 'offensive' content, and he has acknowledged it, but refused to change anything about his content to fix that, claiming that he will continue to do what he finds funny.

Here's another question for you: How important is nature/the environment to your nation's/nations' culture/cultures? What parts of it are the most important, and why? And what correlation do these cultural items, if any, have to environmentalist movements within your nation/nations?

Here's one more as well, this one brought to you by @Sil Dorsett:

Name a major character that was not present when you started RPing that you introduced later. Explain how different your nation would have been had that character been present when you started RPing, and also explain how different your nation would be had that character not been introduced at all.

I know we have two questions unanswered (and I'm hoping people can answer them; since I'd love to hear what the community has to say!) but I figured I'd throw in this third one, as I thought of it and I think it's really good:

What is/are your leader's/leaders' guilty pleasure(s)?

Although more obsessed with unique firearms and custom made ones, he is also obsessed with weed. Lots and lots of weed.

President Baker has an affinity for sniffing markers that cause a small high, and also refluttering various internet memes.

Nature and the Environment for Arirang is quite important in a sense. Although we ALMOST turned most of it upside down in the 1960's and 70's we managed to revitalize it during the 80's to 1992. Reason as to why it's important is because, due to the Shinto population, we don't want to damage our restored relation with nature and Kami, considering the fact that Kami guards area's such as rainforests and that and would be upset should certain area's of the place be ravaged extensively resulting in extensive environmental programs in the modern day. Attempts to restore the nature of the Islands after the Unification War are currently being halted due to reconstruction being reprioritized.

I better answer this considering it's my own question, eh? Much of this answer I had already told Syr over discord, so I'll repeat myself a bit.

Princess Alice was a late addition to the cast. Had she existed from the start, Claidie would have probably abdicated straight away following her father's death, giving her sister the throne. This likely would have resulted in SD not joining the Phoenix Union, and therefore there would be no chance of her poisoning the ANU meeting, and no chance of her doing any damage to the PU through repeated attempts to rip the Principality out of it. I would argue that the Phoenix Union would still exist to this day, although Syr tells me that its destruction would have just been slower. At any rate, Sil Dorsett's international affairs policy would be far more isolationist, tariffs would be high, and income inequality much higher than the Sil Dorsett of the prime timeline. Also, Cicelia Blatherwick, the Foundations Party speaker, would be Prime Minister instead of Madeline Ellison.

Had Alice not existed at all, Claidie would have had a favorable relationship with her father as he would have taken greater care not to end his line of the princely family by becoming estranged from her. I can't spoil the reason for this, as it relates to an upcoming RP post, but I would say that Stéphane would still be Prince to this day. Seeing Alice as a contingency plan and being willing to sacrifice Claidie provided the opening for his downfall.

What is/are your leader's/leaders' guilty pleasure(s)?

The one stereotypical "royal" thing Claidie appreciates is a good meal with lean and juicy cuts of meat, like sirloins and tenderloins, and rich and decadent desserts. Serving her an impeccable strawberry cheesecake would earn you a friend for life, or at least until you serve her a bad one.

Alice will never admit it in public, but she's an avid video gamer with a strong affinity for sports games, especially the NHB Ishokej (Hockey) series. She also enjoys Ike! Nuishu Danshua Kahumei! (Go! Big Dancing Revolution!), citing it as a good workout tool for maintaining her figure.

Don't allocate any funding towards Tannerite production or you'll just see your settis go up in smoke after Madeline's done with it. Things may be calm at the family winery in Maisart Township, but Madeline's personal ranch in Estournel Township has had many noise complaints filed against it following some big booms. Though the frequency of such has dropped dramatically since her becoming Prime Minister and growing her family, she still takes time once in a while to hone her shooting skills, with the occasional explosive indulgence.

The Loðbróks, and their followers in Heorot back in Andrenne, revered the Andrennian pagan god Jägdar. Jägdar was the god of the hunt, and as such the forests became of prime importance to the ancestors of most modern Prydanians. Heorot itself displays both stag and forest motifs in abundance.
This continued into Prydania. The Prydanian forests, called the Skógurland, became a key aspect of the new nation's identity. The Loðbrók kings on Tempest Holm, and later all of Prydania, continued to use forest themes. The stag remained the emblem of the Royal house and thus the nation. Oak leaves gained a prominent place as a secondary national emblem.
The concept of the storm also came to be associated with Prydania. It's said that Hróarr Loðbrók found Tempest Holm in the midst of a great storm, and that this led to the island's name. The storm has been associated with the nation since then. The title Grand Thane of Tempest Holm is traditionally bestowed on the monarch's eldest heir and, until the Syndicalist coup, the protectors of the monarchy were called Knights of the Storm, or Storm Knights.

Prydania remains a very rural country despite Syndicalist attempts at collectivized agriculture and urban industrial develop in the 2000s. As such the rural landscape, weather, and forests of the nation are central to the national consciousness. This means that most political movements in Prydania tend to favour strong environmentalist stances. Even the Conservative Party, thanks to their electoral alliance with the Agrarian Party, has environmental policies that mirror Green Party platforms elsewhere.

Kaleb Stahl.
I was in the midst of Over the Hills and Back and I needed an officer to lead anti-Syndicalist forces for the Kingdom a rung lower than the two Generals who could interact and plan with foreign diplomats. So Brigadier Kaleb Stahl was created on the spot. Originally he was a generic military guy who I kind of pictured as the Brigadier from classic Doctor Who.
Then I decided to do something interesting with him. Make him a Syndicalist spy! I had posts written to this effect but I never went through with it. It just didn't feel right. So I thought on it and opted to make him a former Syndicalist who turned on them and joined the Royalists during the Civil War.
I took that idea into For the King, to Valhalla. It was there that I began to think on Stahl. Who he was. Why he would have joined up with the Syndicalists back in 2002 and why he changed sides. I decided that he would be a gay man serving in Royal Army intelligence. In pre-2002 fascist Prydania? He'd have to remain in the closest. Be with his boyfriend in secret. The Syndicalists offered him a chance at a more just Prydania, and he joined up with their coup.
I also decided he'd be the one, as an intelligence officer, picked to hunt down Tobias and kill him on behalf of the Syndicalist government. This allowed me to segue into why he would turn on them over a decade later. Back in 2002? He was apprehensive about murdering a seven year old child for the sins of his fascist uncle. He put those concerns aside, however, in the name of a cause he believed was going to bring about a more just society. Kaleb's story became one about the dangers of the means to an end. He doesn't want to kill the seven year old Tobias in 2002, but he agrees to try and do it. And over the course of the Civil War? He sees the Syndicalist Republic committing morally reprehensible acts in the name of the ends justifying the means. Eventually this leads him to hand valuable intelligence information over to the Royalists after the Syndicalists torch the farms around Hadden to punish the population for a lack of loyalty.
His conversation with Tobias, the person he'd been trying to kill for over a decade, allowed the then-Prince to understand that there was a wider Prydania he'd have to govern as King beyond just the crown's ardent supporters.

Had I not created what I thought would be a throw-away character? I'd never have a chance to explore these character themes in both Kaleb and Tobias. I wouldn't be able to explore what it would mean to be in a position where a radical revolutionary movement is legitimately your only way out of an oppressive system with Kaleb, as well the dangers of morally compromising yourself for an allegedly incoming goal in the future.
With Tobias? It allowed me to see how he'd react knowing that his side's victory would mean he'd have to be a fair King to ALL of Prydania, not just those who wanted to turn the clock back on the Syndicalist coup.

What is/are your leader's/leaders' guilty pleasure(s)?
Tobias likes very cheesy chivalry/romance novels. During the Civil War? He would be moved from bunk to safe house to bunk to safe house across the country. Sometimes he was lucky enough to get GRK Radio. Other times? Maybe a television signal. Most times though? These old books were his only source of mental stimulation beyond the old textbooks William insisted he study.

Grand Emperor Anthony likes getting in his car and going to watch airplanes take off and land at Gojannesstad-St. Olaf Airport. He sees it as a way to unwind, and he likes to reminisce on his days as a naval pilot during the late 1980s. He also likes science fiction movies, including the corny ones.

Prime Minister Jon Norberg likes to call into radio shows using a burner phone and a fake accent and prank the radio hosts. He doesn't do this as much as in teh early 2000s, but he occasionally does it to celebrate political victories.

Colart is Alycia's mental and emotional ballast, mentor, protector, best agent and one of two adoptive father figures. He supports her ambitions and reinforces her morality. And is the first and potentially last thing you see when you intend her harm.
Colart despite his varying presence in all my threads was an afterthought character. If I did not introduce him and make him a staple when I did, Alycia's darkside may have been given ample opportunity to grow and mature. in many subtle ways, Colart has actually kept Alycia on track.

What is/are your leader's/leaders' guilty pleasure(s)? Alycia, when she can find free time, likes to listen to Industrial metal, Power metal, dark metal and other similar genre's.
Alycia likes to visit various parks and landmarks throughout Norsia; with or without her bodyguards and enjoy the nature or sights, despite being royalty if you approach her or she approaches you she will not give you the cold shoulder.
lastly, Alycia likes to train and spar with her royal guardsmen, hand to hand, mock weapons, she sees it as a chance to exercise and as a chance to bond and establish trust and loyalty among her guard, on occasion she will even organize friendly tournaments.

How important is nature/the environment to your nation's/nations' culture/cultures? What parts of it are the most important, and why? And what correlation do these cultural items, if any, have to environmentalist movements within your nation/nations? Norsian Mythology holds nature and the environment in a high and very important regard. Cavaria is the Goddess of Creation and the world. Norsians who believe in the Mythology usually holds the world in a more animist kind of view. some of Norsia's laws like two trees planted for every one cut down stems from this belief.

Here's a question based on discussions in TNPRP Discord today:

Find a piece of music you feel best sums up the essence of your nation(s). What is it? Why did you choose it?

Reason is due to the high rates of violent crimes conducted by the Arirangese Government and Criminal Underworld despite Arirang being a rather religious nation. It's morals have been distorted by the pursuit of money and power with the civilian populace only being able to arm themselves as a form of defense with some taking arms against the Arirangese Government(Present Uprising). It more or less shows Arirang's present broken state which is a modern society with a functioning economy that is hyper competitive with a dose of violence to enact peoples ambitions and wills upon the other.

Prydania...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AWBZDYiqXKE

"The King's Arival," Game of Thrones Season One OST.

Why did I choose it? Prydania is a rural country, and until the Syndicalist coup, was a very traditional country. Prydania even has a few feudal remnants in its government structure as the royalist restoration rolled back the entirety of Syndicalist legislation.

As such? The traditional, rural nature of Prydania made the medieval nature of the above song appropriate.

Iraelia...

https://youtu.be/ip39e3WhZnE

"Piccolo's Theme," Dragon Ball/Dragon Ball Z OST.

Why did I choose it? I feel like Shaddiasm/Iraelia = Judaism/Israel analog leaves me with an opportunity to do something interesting. Most modern perceptions of Judaism in the west are of Ashkenazi Jews, ie Jews who migrated into Europe after the Diaspora. That is to say that most modern notions of Judaism are of a version of Judaism that had adapted to European culture over centuries upon centuries of integration.
The Diaspora, however, does not exist in Eras. Therefore I've attempted to build Shaddaism into a version of Judaism that has more traditional Semitic trappings.
So why Piccolo's theme? Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z drew on a lot of eastern motifs for its characters. Not just east Asia. King Piccolo, and later Piccolo, drew on a number of aesthetics and character styling from the Indian subcontinent and the Middle East. As such? The subtle Indian and Middle Eastern bent of Piccolo's theme seemed appropriate for my view of Iraelia, a Semitic country that was once a colony of an Indian-based nation.
