The Thomas Building Corporation, which, along with the Ministry of Information, has a home in the Thomas Building, releases an award every year for Person of the Year, who will be featured on the cover of their best-selling journal and get to be named Person of the Year. And it is time, once again, to select a Person of the Year. So, to be eligible, here is what the Corp would like to see:

The Nebulan Democratic Socialist Party nominates Azurus Malachit.

As Emperator of Nebula, Malachit ruled fairly, legalizing gay marriage in the early parts of his term and increasing funding to the education system. He is well known for his support of socialist systems around the world, and for defending them whenever possible. When massive protests rocked the country, calling for his resignation, he stepped down and handed the reins to a political enemy for the sake of ensuring peace in Nebula. Under his rule, Galacta was annexed and the terrorist insurrections that rose there were put down. Many Nebulans, even if they do not agree with his policies, respect his skillful rule and unshakeable serenity.

Archbishop Gunrei of the Church of Flemingovia

b. April 15, 1949

Archbishop Gunrei is seen by his followers as a holy figure and the leader of the greatest crusade the world has ever known. Outside observers see him as a sociopath and the murderer of thousands. He is, by turns, compassionate and ruthless, lucid and deranged, charming and repulsive, calm and furious, wise and disordered.

He has conquered two cities and thrown one of the most developed countries in the world into chaos. World economies have tanked and stock markets fallen on the news of his latest conquests. A totalitarian dictator and theocrat, he rules areas of McMasterdonia with an iron fist. He has inspired fanatical devotion to himself in legions of followers and threatens secular society with his institution of Flemingovian law and widespread murder and abuse of innocents in Port Augusta and Cape El.

Refugees from the chaos in McMasterdonia stretch foreign welfare systems to their limit. Rather than shy away from instability, Gunrei embraces it. He exploits the young, religious, and vulnerable to join his crusade against the secular world. Foreign expatriates and tourists find themselves stranded behind Flemingovian lines as his holy soldiers advance across McMasterdonia, prompting governments to do their utmost to bring their citizens home.

Gunrei affects world events on a global scale and threatens the secular, liberalized government of a modern, advanced nation with destruction. He should be TBC's Person of the Year.

Birth: 11/09/1975

King-Regent Albert has dedicated his entire life to the service of the Kingdom of McMasterdonia and to improving Eras for all. He is a fierce advocate for the rights of minorities and national sovereignty. He believes strongly in protecting the independence of nations and acting against foreign aggressors and cultural & corporate imperialism.

Albert succeeded to the throne of McMasterdonia following the brutal assassination of his sister, the late Queen Matilda II of McMasterdonia and her husband King-Consort Richard. Since her death, the King has been a strong symbol of hope for a nation and world that was shocked by the killing of an upstanding and highly respected national leader. The King has dedicated his time to unifying a nation against the foreign farce that is religious and corporate imperialism, and to banish those from the nation who he deems to be "userites". Citizens of foreign governments who invade McMasterdonia to rape, pillage, and plunder, innocent Mcmasterdonian citizens.

While the Democratic Union and the North Pacific Treaty Organisation have remained silent on the terrible attacks by flemingovianists and other terrorists in the Kingdom of McMasterdonia, the King has remained resolute in defending his nation and protecting his people from harm. He has continuously ruled out allowing known imperialist nations to attack the rebels, as he believes such nations would simply attempt to steal McMasterdonian resources or enslave his people. His advocacy for national independence, the protection of historical sites and traditional culture, and his strong international advocacy for a wholesale ban on chemical weapons has led the King-Regent to become one of the most respected political and military leaders in the world.

While Democratic Union and NPTO leaders remain silent, while the imperialist nations remain silent or cultivate their next fight over irrelevant and worthless islands, at the cost of the lives of innocence, and the widespread destruction of the culture and history of peaceful and historic nations, the King-Regent has continued to fight for a strong and robust international economy.

Other candidates for the TBC's person of the year, and other political leaders continue to argue and fight over meaningless things. Matters that will only advance their own power and oppress or kill their own people. The King-Regent continues to fight for a strong and robust McMasterdonia, and a fair & equal Eras for all.

Khan Sebt II

Sebt II was raised to serve the people of Wolfsea as was expected of every heir. Sebt's education was incredibly strict, possibly to a degree seen as abusive by other nations. Very little time for anything other than forging the young prince into the best possible leader led for a gruelling and lonely childhood. In time Sebt grew into a resilient and intelligent young man, choosing to serve as a fighter pilot in the Wolvesh Air Force the young prince proved a loyal and adept commander, promoted to captain for his service during Wolfsea's campaign against their current protectorates. After the war, while stationed in San Antilles, he met and married Andrea Sarzar.

Sebt ascended to the throne after challenging his father Ein over his plans for regional conquest and a nuclear self-destruct for Wolfsea. After opening up Wolfsea following a century of isolation, Sebt has lead Wolfsea in a campaign to contribute heavily to maintaining peace in the region and fostering international cooperation as member of both the NPTO and the Faibuaizu alliance. Sebt has also offered access to Wolfsea's bioreactor and clean energy systems as well as use of Wolfsea's space program in the establishment of an international space station. Sadly the Khan has also had to deal with tragedy, leading Wolvesh forces as part of the alliance against Cronaal, later negotiating the continued presence of Wolvesh medical and engineering teams to assist the people of Cronaal in rebuilding. Depicted here in both his ceremonial armour and his regular training fatigues, the Khan is a man of great resolve in his desire to keep the region peaceful.

At the age of 19, he took the throne. He led Ryccia to its Democratic and Industrial Revolution, where in just 5 years, democracy had surged and Ryccia turned into an industrialized nation. He also led the nation in the Educational Revolution, at the same time of the Democratic and Industrial Revolution, but 2 years later than the first one. Unfortunately, his progress was severely slowed when Wallace Tikosery came to power.

But he still was an influential figure.

Although Wallace was out of control, Jose's influence and constant begging and consulting softened the iron fist of the dictator. If it weren't for the King's begging, a massacre would had happened against the peaceful Alexander IV Plaza Demonstrations, where 10,000 people protested his[Wallace's] reign. And if it weren't for him, Wallace would had installed a compulsory military conscription plan that would had made almost every Ryccian citizen serve at least 8 years in the military. He also saved the gay, socialist and communist communities of Ryccia from a genocide due to the King begging him and giving him $1.6 million of his own pockets for that to not happen. According to him "it was the best purchase I've ever made. The security of the lives of my civilians". That is also why the Worker's People's Party, who is socialist and communist, appreciate the King and are pro-monarchy, unlike other socialists and communists around the world, who prefer to dethrone monarchies.

Now 38 years old, he lives in the Lixonia Palace, and he houses refugees of the previous civil war that just ended recently. The number he is housing is 2,000, plus 6,000 in his other properties.

We nominate Sydney Briggs, Prime Minister of Plembobria

Briggs has served her nation and people greatly. She brought about competent and stable governance after the 2nd Constitutional Crisis. She is a cool-headed, versatile, and intelligent leader. She has one three elections, and remained leader of her political party since it was formed. She maintains very high personal and political popularity. In one poll, 59% percent of those polled said they would rather have drink with the Prime Minister than the Leader of the Opposition, Ben Kingston.

Briggs is a resident of Tennyson, Crilalia where she has lived all of her life. She represents a local constituency of the same name. At the age of 39, she is one of the youngest heads of government currently serving. She was appointed PM in October 2014. She won the subsequent election, but lost in a dissolution. She later won after that.

She has been considered as a candidate for knighthood.

The Syrixian Empire would like to nominate Rohit Kumar MDO, Prime Minister of Syrixia.

Rohit Kumar was born on November 23, 1963, during the height of the communist era, into the family of Hritik Kumar, a Communist Party Central Committee member. From a young age, he was interested in politics, and learned how to be a politician by examining various politicians of the time all over the world. His father Hritik tried to raise him as a communist, but instead Rohit developed center-left, progressive beliefs. In his 20s, he began to use what he had learned and tried to become a real politician. At this point, the communist government was faltering in Syrixia.

Speaking out against the communist government and advocating for the reestablishment of the Empire under a constitutional monarchy, Rohit attracted another similar politician to work with him. This politician was Abishek Bedi, and he would become the first Prime Minister of Syrixia. Rohit joined forces with Bedi and together they amassed enough followers to finally take down the People's Republic of Syrixia via the Sikhara Protests of 2005. By 2006, the Empire had been reestablished as a constitutional monarchy, with Rohit as its Minister of Defense. However, the Bedi government was unstable and weak, and after the 2010 elections, Amitabh Bhargava became Prime Minister. Rohit retained his Defense Minister role.

Rohit was a key challenger of Bhargava's policies. Bhargava was often called "the Bulldog" due to his preference for direct action. When faced with a war, Syrixia's action was direct. When faced with an economic crisis, it was direct as well. To Rohit, Bhargava's methods were hypocritical. This was ultimately proven by the Great War. Bhargava wanted Syrixia to help its allies in some way, and even to resort to direct fighting should Syrixia be openly declared war on, which was done by the Provincial State of Cronaal. Rohit, meanwhile, whose popularity was soaring while Bhargava's was slowly declining, always had wanted to talk to the NPTO Peacekeeping Forces to stop the conflict as well as to provide humanitarian aid to those in conflict, instead of weaponry.

Not only this, but he opposed Bhargava's massive army and his propensity to utilize nuclear power. Bhargava commissioned the first tests of Syrixia's nuclear arsenal, and had more nuclear power plants erected. Rohit, as Minister of Defense, was in charge of the army, but the action of declaring war was within the jurisdiction of Parliament, meaning Bhargava would make Syrixia, ultimately, go to war. During the Great War, Rohit spoke out heavily against Bhargava's policy of directly fighting, insisting that the NPTO Peacekeeping Forces be contacted. However, he still did his job, even though he didn't want to. Rohit led Syrixian armies to victory during the Mad Queen's War, and, on Bhargava's direction, spearheaded the State Assault Federal Forces during the Cold War part of the Great War against Nebula. When the Red Bloc collapsed in on itself at the end of the Great War, Rohit knew it was his time to shine.

Rohit resumed his verbal fight against Bhargava after the Great War ended. However; glorious, glorious karma did the work for him when terrorists of unknown origin broke into a nuclear power plant where the Prime Minister was talking with two corporate CEOs about the financial state of Syrixia. Killing one of the CEOs as well as Bhargava himself, the terrorists were never caught and they are currently presumed dead, however the damage was done. After the customary wave of international condolences as well as a short state funeral, Maharaja Rajesh III initiated a special election.

Rohit ran completely uncontested in the race, securing the Prime Ministership. During his inauguration ceremony, the Committee of the Diamond Order of the Empire, the semi-autonomous government committee that decides who is given Syrixia's highest civilian honor, surprised Rohit by presenting him with the aforementioned Diamond Order of the Empire. Only two other Syrixians have become Members of the Order, and both of them were dead long before the award was given out, making Rohit the first non-posthumous awardee.

Today, Rohit has gotten the Syrixian economy back on its feet by employing the use of green power over fossil fuels and nuclear power, as well as restoring historical ruins as tourist attractions. He has also managed to get Syrixia back into the NPTO, following its suspension by the NPTO Assembly. Rohit has overhauled the country, changing many of the previous policies set by Bhargava. Rohit's policies are genius, his financial programs saved Syrixia, and his appreciation for Syrixian culture and history as well as that of the world outside Syrixia has reaffirmed Syrixia's former status at long last, as a financial and cultural powerhouse.

Rohit Kumar's first term runs out in 2020, and it is expected that he will be re-elected. For Rohit and Syrixia, things just keep on getting better.

Briggs, unlike the other two finalist's serves in an elective position. Her perspicacity in matters of politics is unparalleled. Her repeated decisive political success shows her popularity with the people.

It was her government which decided to have the Kingdom join the DU, and organization of which Plembobria is now chair. She helped to bring about a healthy parliamentary system in country with few democratic custom and traditions.

She has brought the Kingdom to an unparalleled position on the world's stage, while maintaining a neutral, intelligent, and fair foreign policy. Her government helped mediate disputes over the division of Cronaal.

As Prime Minister, she has frequently worked across floor, and compromised with the Opposition.

There are few politicians in Eras whose record compares to hers.

Sebt II has reformed the nation of Wolfsea from would-be conquerors into protectors of peace and law throughout the region. Sebt approached the esteemed King of New Sekai to establish an alliance which set the groundwork for the Faibuaizu Alliance, an organisation formed with the intentions of assisting in keeping peace throughout the region and remains the largest single contributor to the NPTO's peacekeeping forces with a full quarter of Wolfsea's two million-strong Expeditionary Forces kept on permanent standby to aid with Peacekeeping operations as well as developing the 'Adventure Galley' proposal and the eponymous mobile naval bases to improve the efficiency of anti-piracy operations throughout the region as well as attempting to broker non-aggression pacts with both the Helmebaine Alliance and the Democratic Union.

During the Great War Sebt was the first to declare neautrality, attempting, in his own way, to broker a solution to resolve the conflict. The Khan also offered full support of Wolfsea to the nations threatened by Cronaal, including establishing naval blockades to prevent attacks on Sadokayama and formulating a strategy in an attempt to get Helmebaine and Faibuaizu states to work together. When the invasion of Cronaal took place Sebt was present on the frontlines and, as such, assisted with the treatment and recovery of wounded on both sides before pledging the full assistance of Wolfsea's forces in aiding with the recovery and rebuilding of Cronaal and assisting in brokering the subsequent peace accord that ended the war.

Following the war Sebt continued his attempts to bring peace to the region by holding the first International Pan-Fighting Championship to promote unity and friendship between nations as well as inviting the world leaders of the region to visit Wolfsea at their leisure to better cement relations as well as promising the assistance of Wolfsea's space program and communications systems to contribute to the regions attempts to explore space.

King-Regent Albert of McMasterdonia

The King-Regent deserves to win the TBC person of the year award. Unlike the other contestants, the King-Regent has had to face an extreme amount of adversity in recent years. He was charged by the great Queen Matilda II (Queen Mitra II in McMasterdonian) to lead the Royal McMasterdonian Armed Forces. During this time, he oversaw a great period of enhanced training for the military, saw the number of new recruits increase by 35%, and effectively used the military to achieve significant results in disaster relief efforts throughout McMasterdonia.

During the King-Regents short life, there have been three attempts against his life. These extremists attacked Albert for what he stands for - freedom, justice, and the continued power and stability of the McMasterdonian state. Albert has been tasked with the great and daunting task of reuniting the Kingdom, following the devastating assassination of Queen Matilda II and her husband King-Consort Richard. The nation faces continued threats from extremist groups, who murder, rape, and burn, McMasterdonian citizens who do not immediately give in to their demands. The King is a strong and rallying figure for the McMasterdonian people in a time of great peril.
