Overview
Delia Point was discovered in 1476 and began being officially settled in 1502. In 1578 it was formally granted colony status, and remained loyal to Syrixia up until this very day. After the communist revolution, it was granted province status, and representation in the Syrixian People's Council. This did not change with the democratic reforms of 2006. This peninsula was known as Delia Point.

History
In the year 1502, when Syrixian colonization was at an all-time high, massive quantities of Syrixians began to emigrate to a government-designated location known as Delia Point in search of jobs. Gold had recently been discovered there by Syrixian explorers, and diamonds soon after. Delia Point soon became a mining hotspot throughout the Syrixian Empire, and in the 14th century this was especially important, due to the highly corrupt nature of the Emperors and the need for materials to make weaponry. Eventually, however, Syrixian communities blossomed on the peninsula and the territory was formally granted colony status. This formal granting of colony status opened the door for the Empire to begin mass construction on cities, such as New Lehon City, Danakar, and New Balamb- the final city of the three being Delia Point's premier port, and current largest city. The name "Delia Point" was officially given to the colony the same year it gained colony status, by Empress Delia II, who was notable for her lust for gems and diamonds, which possibly triggered her interest in the peninsula and its resources.

Delia Point remained loyal to Syrixia throughout her history, even after the communist revolution and was the only colony in the nation not to leave or gain independence. Following the rise of the People's Republic of Syrixia, the government sought to completely overhaul the peninsula- which, as the Empire declined, had been less and less taken care of. The peninsula had become somewhat of a backwater slum hive, and the government did not want this to remain, as it would be detrimental to their public image, which was already awkwardly bad. Massive restoration and modernization swept through the peninsula, and the Delian machine turned back on. Eventually, in 1952, after the overhauling was mostly complete, Delia Point was stripped of its colony status and it was then promptly made a fully integrated province. It has remained so to this day.

Government and Politics
Delia Point's government is like that of any province in Syrixia. It has a Provincial House of Assembly, led by a Governor, as well as a Provincial Court, which is the second level of Syrixian courts. The first and lowest are that of the County Courts, and the third and greatest is that of the Syrixian Supreme Court. Delia Point, in terms of political parties has a nationalist majority, with a democratic opposition and sizeable centrist and socialist minorities. The current Governor of Delia Point is Jacqueline Kline.

Geography
Delia Point's north is heavily mountainous, thus marking the border of the province. This is one of the primary reasons for a near total lack of natives in the peninsula. In the middle of the province, closer to the south, one finds temperate forests. This is where most of Delia Point's mines are. In the south of the peninsula, one will find hilly grasslands and thin forests. This is where the peninsula's biggest cities are, including New Balamb, the provincial capital, which also boasts some of Syrixia's finest beaches; perhaps beating out the old megacity itself. Mangoes and pineapples are some of the peninsula's native fruits, and following the peninsula's ascension to province status, many endangered species thrive in the various nature reserves found in the province's western parts.

Thank you! I worked decently hard on the OP, especially the history, so I do appreciate it.

Making me realize I need to flesh out the history of Callaici at some point... Overall though, looks good.

I have two issues.

Firstly, whilst the claim is of an acceptable size for a colony on the new continents, I thought you were going in for this group colony thing?

Secondly, in your geography you say it has hilly grasslands and temperate forests, however, its already been specifically mentioned (by myself in the Map Discussion topic) that these new continents are more arid, much warmer and less hospitable. What you've described is a Black Sea/Mediterranean like climate when you should be thinking Australian bush country.

Colonies. Mostly every colony has to break free from your control and become independent, because it's pretty weird for countries to still have colonies.

1. I still am. I tried to find a peninsula and this was the nearest adequate peninsula I could find. The group colony would be a means to explore the new continents further, as Delia Point's mountains, while they were climbable, gave an incentive to forget exploring the area further past the mountains and just explore Delia Point.

2. The mountains naturally separate the arid desert lands from the temperate lands of Delia Point. This is yet another reason why the Empire didn't explore further.
