Repeal "Condemn Durkadurkiranistan II"

Category: Repeal | Resolution: SC#33 | Proposed by: Chester Pearson | Resolution link | World Assembly forum thread

Description: WA Security Council Resolution #33: Condemn Durkadurkiranistan II shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: The Security Council,

Recognizing at the time of condemnation The I was a sex god in the 60s of Durkadurkiranistan II was an impeding force on the democratic stability of the North Pacific,

Acknowledging that Durkadurkiranistan II did eventually step down as delegate,

Pointing out that one coup, no matter how long it progressed is hardly worth the attention of the Security Council,

Disappointed that a proper condemnation of Durkadurkiranistan II did not include their coups of Osiris, Lazarus, or The South Pacific,

Whilst realizing Durkadurkiranistan II is a threat the international stability,

Also realizing this Security Council resolution #33 did little to nothing to actually censure Durkadurkiranistan II for their actions,

Seeking to remove this badge of honor from a nation that did little to nothing to actually achieve it,

Hoping the Security Council passes a far more comprehensive condemnation of this heinous nation,

Hereby repeals SC Resolution 33: Condemn Durkadurkiranistan II.

Ministry Review
Written by HMS Unicorn

This repeal proposal is of particular interest to The North Pacific. As you may be aware, [nation=short]Durkadurkiranistan II[/nation], under another nation of his, was a former WA Delegate of our region. Following his election, Durkadurkiranistan went rogue: He attempted to overthrow democracy in The North Pacific and performed thousands of indiscriminate ejections reducing our population to fewer than 500 nations. Following that, he changed our World Factbook Entry and flag to inappropriate content, resulting in his nation's deletion by the NS moderators and in the region being left without a delegate and vulnerable. For this atrocious behavior, Durkadurkiranistan was condemned by the Security Council.

The proposal at vote is looking to repeal this condemnation. The proposal attempts to mitigate Durkadurkiranistan's behavior, by pointing out that he eventually "stepped down". Of course, in reality he hardly "stepped down", instead performing a stunt to have himself deleted and bring ridicule to the region. Furthermore, the proposal contends that the coup of The North Pacific by Durkadurkiranistan is "hardly worth the attention of the Security Council", and does not warrant a condemnation. Well, this Ministry begs to differ: couping the largest region in the game is well within the scope of what is condemnable by the Security Council.

For these reasons, we recommend a vote against this proposal.

This goes to vote this minor.

Besides the annoying misspelling of The North Pacific (the resolution text leads to North Pacific instead), I believe Durk's atrocious conduct in TNP is alone condemn-worthy. If a new draft is proposed, we can consider it separately, without repealing this one.

Against.

Durk is only ever an opportunist, and these days is an irrelevance.

I do not see the value in him having the attention of the security council.

For.

Against. It was before my time, but as far as I can tell the condemnation was thoroughly deserved.

Voting on this resolution has ended.

Thanks to those nations who cast their votes. Your participation is a great help to the region.
