We have a problem that needs resolution because of the delay in holding the August elections. Resolution would require either that the term of office of the current officeholders will be shortened so as to resume the regular election calendar for the November elections beginning in mid-October, or permanently shifting elections days so we would hold elections in the first week of March, June, September, and December. Either way, we would likely need assent from the Regional Assembly and the Court. Once we resolve this question, then we'll be in a position to ask the Security Council to terminate the state of emergency that it approved in late July.
